Clipping bolts never felt so good.

The Petzl Women's Selena Harness handles the hardest routes you've climbed at the gym and sport crags. Its women-specific EndoFrame design allows a freedom of movement as well as excellent weight distribution and just enough cush for hanging belays. You won't feel compression points, chafing, or irritability while sussing out the beta after each whipper.

The Selena has a quick-and-easy DoubleBack Lite buckle at the waist and fixed flexible leg loops for a secure fit and a full range of motion. Petzl's harnesses come with red indicators at the high-tenacity tie-in points that let you know when it's time to retire the harness. Four solid gear loops, CariTools for ice tools, and a rear haul loop that also doubles as a chalk bag hanger help you send any wall that comes your way.

    super bummed

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I had the purple Selena in size small which fit perfectly, and I loved it to death so I discarded it. Time for a new harness. I ordered the raspberry one, removed the tags, and stuck it in my pack. Oops. They changed the sizing, and the new one was huge! It was cinched to the max and it wasn't cool when it was weighted (rode up like the devil!). But I used it, so oh well. Regretting my purchase, I sold it on Ebay for less than half what I paid. I just contacted a Gearhead via chat and told him about the sizing problem. He insisted that I was a small, based on the size chart on this website, but finally went to the Petzl website and confirmed that they have changed their sizing and now I'm an XS. Backcountry still haven't updated their sizing chart by the way, so look at the Petzl site for sizing. Anyway, I asked for a little extra discount because of my loss on a new harness that would fit, and he refused, and eventually "hung up" on me via chat. Wow! I used to love Backcountry for their great "Gearheads", knowledge and great service.

No frills sport harness - so far so good

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've used the same harness for years (the BD Lotus) and decided to get this one for the gym and single pitch sport routes outside. So far I've just worn the Selena a few times at the gym for both top-rope and lead - I haven't taken a lead fall in it yet, but it's comfortable when lowering and belaying.

I'm pretty confident that it's just what I was looking for, although I think it's going to be a little harder to rack a ton of draws on it than it was on the utility-focused Lotus that I'm accustomed to. On the other hand, it's lighter and simpler for the #sends.

I kind of wish it had adjustable leg loops, but other than that it's spot on.

    Solid Harness

It's held up well through a lot and is very comfortable . Wheneve I borrow someone else's harness I'm reminded of much I like own. Would definitely recommend to anyone planning on spending an extended period of time in the harness.

      So comfy!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Soo much more comfortable than my old arcteryx harness! I got a medium the I have to sinch the waist belt super tight but the leg loops fit well. I like the color to. It is much more durable than I originally thought! Definitely try it on before purchasing if possible!

      Indoor and Sport Climbing

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this as a gift for someone who is just beginning climbing indoors. It appears to be stylish, comfortable and suitable for that purpose.

      Great sport climbing harness

I've owned this harness and the previous purple version. I've loved both. Super comfortable and fairly light. I work at a climbing gym so I'm required to wear my harness constantly and I usually hardly even notice I'm wearing it. The gear loops are a little small if you're intending to carry a ton of gear so I wouldn't recommend it if you're doing a lot of trad climbing, but I have used it for a few trad climbs and it did fine. I'm 5'10" and 155 lbs and I wear a medium.

        put it through the wringer

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

this harness has kept me safe in yosemite, moab, red rocks, pinnacles, tahoe, and the gym! after 4 years of use it was time to retire my purple harness. after looking around for a new harness i ended up getting the same one. it's one of the few harnesses that doesn't have adjustable leg loops or plastic gear loops. it's light weight and comfortable on rappels and hanging belays.

        put it through the wringer

Great for indoor and sport climbing

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This harness is super comfortable and I love the color! I have only used it for indoor and sport climbing so far so can't speak for its abilities to carry a full trad rack, but so far it's been a great purchase.

Don't design out the trad climbers.

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

REALLY comfortable and well-fitting, but the gear loops are unrealistic for trad climbing. (So why bother adding Caritools for ice, which is even less popular than trad?)

        Unanswered Question

        Hi,
any chance to find out about the production year of the harness?
        Thanks in advance

        HI there,
I was just curious as to sizing as I cant see a chart anywhere and I want to make sure I order the correct size.
        Thanks
