Luna Harness

Pitches on pitches on pitches, it's so nice to start the next pitch of climbing right where you ended the last pitch, as opposed to cumbersomely carrying your climbing rope across a dusty crag. There are a couple things multi-pitch climbers look for in a harnesses that sport climbers do not—namely, comfort and the ability to carry additional gear. The Women's Luna Harness features Petzl's EndoFrame Technology, which uses a wider waist band made of thin foam and sewn-in webbing. The adjustable leg loops have the same technology, and the result is a well-supported, surprisingly comfortable harness that shouldn't have any pressure points when you're hanging at belays.

  • Advanced climbing harness made for multi-pitch climbing
  • EndoFrame Technology maximizes comfort and minimizes pressure points
  • Self-locking waist buckle and DoubleBack adjustable leg loops
  • Rigid gear loops up front, three soft gear loops around rear
  • Caritool Evo ice screw carabiner loop and additional trail line
  • Item #PTZ007L

Comfort is key

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I grabbed this harness because after reading other reviews, I thought it would hit the mark and I was right. It's been great comfort wise - I've worn it for hours long climbing sessions with no problem. What I also loved about it is that when my roommate needed a harness for an afternoon, I could loan her this one without issue; she's quite a bit smaller than me so the fact that we both felt comfortable with it awesome perk. It is user friendly and not super complicated to understand. Finally, I love the jewel tones these things come in.

Comfortable and Affordable Harness

If you're looking for a harness that is comfortable and doesn't break the bank, look no further! The Luna Harness by Petzl has been great. It is super adjustable, which makes it easy to share with friends on a trip. Colors are also nice which is a plus!

Grabbed it for my spouse.

My spouse loves this harness! She tells me she likes the adjustable legs straps. She likes how it fits around her waist too. We have used the Petzel Hirundos and both agree we like like the Luna better it seems to provide more padding which helps when belaying... that or user error xD.

if it ain't broke don't fix it

I had the previous model of this harness (they’re the teal ones) in which I absolutely loved! The best features I must have on a harness are, Single quick release buckle for drop seat, adjustable led loops, and ice tool loops. The new iteration of this model now has 2 buckles for drop seat? Why would you do this? Did a guy think of this? Where did the ice tool holders go? When Petzl first put this out it did say it had the ice tool slot but didn’t! Lastly and the most awkwardly painful!!! If you look at the previous model the inside leg loop is thin. The new version is thicker and if your climber is 40+ pounds heavier than you has to take, the leg loops gets pulled up and pinches in a very bad way on me. 😡 Not sure why they did this as well. I wore this harness three times and that was it! I have fortunately found 2 of the old in my size on sale and bought those.

Got it for the lady-friend so I'm not sure if it's actual feedback, or she was just being nice Haha! Said it was easy to put on, comfortable enough to have on all day, and easy to sit back and belay with. Only had good things to share!

"Comfy and cute!" - the girlfriend

I love the comfort/color. Interestingly, the medium was slightly big for me. I'm 5'6 and 145lb, so i suspect these harnesses run slightly large - especially if they stretch over time

Great all around harness

Bought this for my lady, her thoughts are, “ fantastic harness for a bit of everything. 4 gear loops make it very functional for sport/trad while it’s lightweight material isn’t too heavy for the gym. It was a little stiff coming out of the bag, but it’s getting more flexible to me with each climb. Also, I love the purple color.”

Comfy!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I've used this harness in the gym only and found it to be comfortable to wear always. The legs were initially really tight, but I was able to adjust them to fit me well. I have a size 29 waist and demoed the medium. I definitely plan on getting one when i start climbing outside this summer!

Not as comfortable as hoped

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

So I admit to buying this because I am a gear junkie and it was purple. I wanted to add a trad harness to my collection for the next time I go climbing outside. I have worn this in the gym for the last couple of weeks and have been a little disappointed with the comfort factor when hanging in it (coming down) and walking in it is slightly off, as another reviewer mentioned. I had a Solution (BD) harness and feel the wider leg loops on that one were more comfortable even though the Luna's have more padding. Hoping I will just get used to it.

Great First Harness

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This was the first harness I've ever used so I don't really have anything to compare it to. The padding on the legs was great for me, I had no issues climbing all morning. I didn't have any gear to put on the gear loops, however, there was plenty of them. The only negative thing I have to say about this harness is the adjustable leg straps were a little difficult for me to tighten and the main waist adjustment was also difficult to tighten. That might have been because it was a brand new harness, however. Overall I had a great time in the Luna Harness.

Snug as a rug

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This harness actually makes me feel nice and safe because of how snug the leg loops! I can see how it might be uncomfortable or difficult to walk in but for me it fit just fine! I have the small and didn't have any issues.

Mostly great but one key flaw...

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I really wanted to love the updated Luna- I've been a FIRM follower of this model basically since I started climbing. While the updates are mostly positive- an additional gear loop in the back provides lots of extra space, the overlapping design provides better accessibility to the back loops, an additional elastic to hold the waist adjustment tail out of the way, some might even dig the new color way- there are a couple of changes that have prompted me to look elsewhere for my next harness purchase. First, a couple smaller things. One the newest model, Petzl separated the harnesses' butt straps into two separate elastics/buckles. Why?? It's kind of small but also pretty annoying if you do need to drop the leg loops for a bathroom break or any other reason. I don't see any possible benefit to separating these into two. The overlapping nature of the gear loops also makes me wonder about the harnesses' versatility come winter. I think it's unfortunate that Petzl didn't keep the hard clip-in points for ice clippers but perhaps their new ice clippers will do the job just fine. That one I'll just have to wait and see on but makes me tend to think the Luna is becoming more a rock harness than the classic all-arounder. Lastly- and this is the sole reason I would never, ever buy this harness- the leg loops are heinously uncomfortable to stand or walk in. In this harness, I have the leg loops on the smallest setting. I think they might be more comfortable for folks who don't wear them on the smallest setting- you'll just have to try it on yourself to see. For me, however, the discomfort is bordering on intolerable. That being said, hanging in the harness or climbing in it feels fine. It's really just standing or walking. I'd highly recommend you try this one on before buying to make sure the leg loops suit you. As it is, I cannot wear this harness for any mission where I think I might be walking in my harness, e.g. up-and-over days. Overall, if your leg shape is suited to this style, a great rock harness that can easily make forays into ice or mountaineering. Very durable with a comfortable waist and ergonomic, thoughtful gear loops.

Secure and Comfortable

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I purchased the Luna Harness as a gift. Words from my sister: it is comfortable to wear for longer days on the wall but light enough to try some harder sport routes. The adjustable leg straps allow for a secure and snug feel. Overall this harness is wonderful but the cinching mechanism on the waist could be a little better.
