Incredibly useful, but enormous

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I purchased this mostly because of the situations I get myself into while top rope soloing - it's great for quickly aiding on a piece, adjusting your position while setting up a rappel, and just the feeling of safety having a dynamic rope in your system while clipped in directly. You can attach other devices via clove hitch, making it almost infinitely useful. It will cluster up your harness, and it's not lightweight. But for top managed sites and weird anchor setups and multipitch rappels, it's really the best.

Not easy to use, but solid

This thing... I wanted to love it. It just doesn't do either of the jobs its meant to do well enough to be happy with them, is large and sloppy on the harness, and sometimes requires two hands to adjust. I really wanted to love this. But a double sling with a few knots works many times better, is quicker, and just isn't as aggravating to use as this.
