Kick the Petzl Dart Crampon's monopoint anywhere on ice or rock and expect it to bite exactly where you want it. Designed for ice climbing or dry tooling, the Dart excels at efficient precision on scrappy ice, micro edges, and more. The thin front points provide good ice penetration, while the longer design improves your overall stability. Petzl angled the second row of toothed points towards the front for added support while front pointing, and the third row towards the back for more secure foot placements. The Dart Crampon's Leverlock Fil binding system is compatible with all technical mountaineering and ice climbing boots with front and rear welts.

    Petzl does it again!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I picked these up after Mr. Rabinowitz raved about them, and I gotta say, the guy knows what he's talking about. I'd been climbing with strap-on horizontal point crampons in the past, and upgrading to semi-automatic mono-points might be one of the best [ice-climbing related] decisions I've ever made! I'm using them with Scarpa Mont Blanc Pro's, and after trying out a couple different configurations with the extensions bar and bail positions, they fit my boots perfectly and feel rock-solid. The penetrate cold, brittle ice really well, and the secondary points help my feet feel nice and stable. I've used them in any dry-tooling to true mixed conditions, but I can definitely see how they would perform really well for that! If you're looking to up your ice-climbing game, give these a try!

I'm not the best climber out there but I have used a few different crampons from all sorts of manufacturers. These guys are by far the best. Easy to adjust, easy to put on, and performance is perfect. They are light, sink in to ice very well, and are perfect for drytooling. I thought their minimalist design would make them difficult to climb in but I was wrong.

Best part is their modular design allows you to swap out front sections, linking bars, heel/toe connections, heel units, the possibilities are endless!

If you're looking for a high-performance ice and rock crampon.... this is it.
