Sporty summers and icy winters.

From rock to ice, Petzl's Adjama Harness is the versatile choice for climbers who ascend year-round. Its EndoFrame design allows a freedom of movement as well as excellent weight distribution and just enough cush for hanging belays. You won't feel compression points, chafing, or irritability while sussing out the beta after each whipper.

DoubleBack Lite buckles offer quick and easy adjustability at the waist and legs to accommodate winter or summer gear. Petzl's harnesses come with red indicators at the high-tenacity tie-in points that let you know when it's time to retire them. Four solid gear loops, CariTools for ice tools, and a rear haul loop that also doubles as a chalk bag hanger help you send any wall that comes your way.

Petzl keeps it simple

I've enjoyed using this harness in the Wasatch Front and in the climbing gym. It fits perfectly around my 32" waist and stays secure all day. Simple and light, holds snug and comfy, a great harness for beginners and experts a like!

    Solid Harness

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Very comfortable harness to rest in and can be worn all day! I'm 5'9 145 size 32 and got the medium which fit perfect. Nice snug comfortable fit that can be easily adjusted with the leg buckles. Light, breathable and gets the job done!

    Super comfy

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This harness was fantastic! I wore it climbing 2 days in a row, and was surprised how well it performed. I loved the adjustable leg loops! I'm 5'10" 135lbs, and got a medium. I had to tighten it quite a bit, but it never once felt uncomfortable or untrustworthy.

    Good comfortable harness.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I've been using this for ice climbing the last month and so far so good. The gear loops are more than adequate and the harness is quite comfortable. It comes with two Caritool slots, but one or two more would be even better. All and all, this seems like a pretty versatile harness.

    Fantastic for sport

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using my harness for roped climbing about two years now and it has served me very well. I'm transitioning my product to be my mixed-harness with great adjustability in the expandable leg loops and strong supportive design. Overall I've enjoyed using it for sport and top-rope, but would have enjoyed something slightly more comfortable as I begin trad climbs.

    Solid Harness

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This harness does exactly what you'd expect, and it does it well. I've spent the past two years climbing both indoors and out, and it shows hardly any signs of wear or deterioration.

The only drawback is that it's a bit more heavy/bulky when it comes to transporting it, compared to some other more portable harnesses. But at this price-point, the quality and comfort make up for any small drawbacks.

    Very poor gear loop design.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I am a 32in waist, purchased a medium. I found that when adjusted, the left gear loops are either behind my hip or the central tie in is forced several inches to the right of center. This is ergonomically a poor design and personally, makes the harness unuseable.
I tried a large as well, whose gear loops are symmetrical, but the large has a longer yoke on the leg loops which cause the yoke to ride uncomfortably up into the waist tie in point.

    Not just for men

Bought this as a gift for a lady friend and this is what she had to say:

I've used the Petzl Luna for years and never really liked how the leg loops would always be down in the middle of my thighs even after adjusting the rear leg loop length in the back. The Adjama seems to have a shorter rise than the Luna and the leg loops stay put where they should be. It also more comfortable for me in a hanging belay leading to much less backache. The only downside is that on a small, the gear loops tend to be set further towards the rear of the harness. The gear loops are also smaller, which if you're racking a lot trad gear off the harness it can be a bit annoying. (larger sizes of the harness don't seem to have this problem) Small prices to pay for a more comfortable harness.

      Fantastic Harness

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I took this harness on a short Canyoneering trip to Southern Utah and it worked out very well! Had no problems at all. It's very comfortable and super light, spent approximately 4 hours in it and had no chafing or tight spots at all. Highly recommend the harness to anybody looking for a functional, lightweight, and affordable harness.

      My favorite harness

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using this harness for both Search and Rescue and climbing (I have two!) and it's perfect. Extra adjustable and comfortable for when you are hanging from awkward belays.

      Great Harness

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This is a great harness as is to be expected from Petzl. The only thing that can get obnoxious is that the leg straps sometimes get flipped inside out and can be difficult to get back to normal, but that is more of an inconvenience than a defect. I would definitely recommend purchasing this to anyone just getting into climbing.

      Harness the power

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

of the Adjama harness from Petzl.
I swear Fernand Petzl exists inside this harness. It glows bright blue.

I bought this harness for use in the gym, in alpine(ice) routes, sport and trad. I've been using it in the gym and have some initial thoughts. (Edit 1-11-18, I have used this harness on many ice, rock, and gym routes since posting initial review.)
It's not as comfortable as I expected. (Edit 1-11-18, After a small break in period this harness is pretty comfortable. I don't notice any of the below issues anymore.)

I'm 5'9" 150lbs bought a M size. It fits well around the waist and legs, with room for layers when outside in the cold. Simple harness adjustments and design, well built.
It did not hold up to be comfortable between the legs, I find myself adjusting it once in a while during belay on the ground. I have started to wear it a little loose around the legs to prevent this.
I expect this harness to last me a while, and plan to use for basic sport and gym climbing. It is definitely not comfortable to wear for long periods of time.

Still awesome, I like Petzl as a company and look forward to future harness models.

      Great Harness

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I bought this for my husband and here is what he had to say:

Very comfortable and adjustable harness. Love the way it fits with no binding or restrictions. I only climbed with it 2 times so far but I have know doubts that this harness will pass the test of time. I am 5'7" 165lbs and ordered the Medium.

      Comfortable and versatile

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Comfortable, versatile, high quality (I haven't seen anything low quality come from Petzl) but make sure you like the layout of the gear loops if you're a tradster.

For sport it doesn't much matter but for trad I did not like the layout of the gear loops. You may love it but I would try it on and rack some gear on it to see for yourself.

      Couldnt be happier

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This harness is great, it fits true to size, and is very comfortable for long routes on the wall. I would highly recommend this product and company.

      Great surprise!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For years I have worn one model of another companies harness because of it's comfort and have worn out several of them . I recently bought this harness and the first time I wore it I was amazed with how comfortable it was. It is so light and unobtrusive. I have spent many hours belaying and climbingin this harness on rock and ice and have logged quite a few whips and am still amazed with it's comfort level! Get one!

Looks like this one is new for this year. Whats the difference between this one and the adjama 2 grey harness

      Hey Taylor B.,

To my knowledge, these two harnesses are actually the same (with the exception of the color scheme).

Feel free to hit me up with any other questions you may have.

There are some slight differences.. On the points of adjustment (thighs & hips) there are some more slots on this model to run the end you pull through to get it out of the way. Additionally, the the stretch material on the back of the leg loops is adjustable.
