This jacket is MEANT for cold harsh weather-if you live somewhere cold as crap then this is the jacket for you.
I bought this for Seattle-and we really arent cold enough for this caliber of jacket. I ended up returning it-cause i would really only use this when traveling to cold places and wanted something more for around town.
All pros with this jacket:
-The down insulation immediately gives you a sense of warmth and the weight of the coat is thick and wonderful.
-the inner cuffs really seal in all the warmth and dont allow any cold gusts of wind or snow to sneak up in there
-the real fur ruff is nice when you flip it inside-for all your fur haters out there...fur is the only thing that can truly keep the cold off your face. synthetic fur really cant compare-it doesnt really add warmth-its there for aesthetics. real fur for cold places is what you need.
-i didnt get to truly test this coat in cold cold weather-but seattle had a few really bitter days and this coat arrived right around these days and i must say it was warm, kept the wind out and the rain off!
-I didnt like the buttons on the outside. personally it was annoying to have a zipper along with a ton of buttons i would potentially have to button or unbutton in colder weather. But i could see how it adds some warmth with the flap being closed over the zipper.
5ft 4-ordered a small in the lovely bright red color! if i lived somewhere a little colder i would have kept this jacket. this is worth EVERY penny.
