I love this shirt, especially this time of year (October). The Blue Original Surf Plaid is a tip o' the cap to The Beach Boys and the shirts they wore in some famous photo shoots. My first impression is that this shirt is built to last. I expect that this shirts will hang in my closet for 15 years. The style is classic and the materials are high quality.

This shirt is a classic, never knew why the vatos rocked these so hard. Well now i do! These are fresh threads that keep you warm on a nice chilly morning, but if things do heat up the wool is highly breathable and keeps you real comfy it's a straight regulator. The size seems a little boxy purchased a large but the overall fit seems a little wide probably will try a fitted one next time to "rock with my khakis and a cuff and a crease"

Classic

- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
I got this as a gift, and it was a score. Very nice material- classic Pendleton, you can definitely dress it up with a nice pair of jeans or throw it on for a great outdoor adventure. The double pockets are a nice accent too. Sizing seems true, purchased it in his normal shirt size and it was a little roomy- not very fitted- but he wasn't swimming in it either. Overall, great gift, keep loving the Pendleton line!

I've had mine for about two months now and have taken it from the Bay Area to Truckee to Park City to the high desert of Arizona. I wear it over a t-shirt at all time for basic next to skin comfort but the wool itself isn't too rough. It's a classic, and you can wear this wether you're chopping wood, heading to the surf break or the office (unless you work at a bank, in which case I'm sorry for ya!).

Worn by the Beach Boys

Before they were the Beach Boys they were the Pendletones, so named because of this very shirt. This shirt has been around for a looong time, and it has great classic style. The wool is soft and warm and it can be worn buttoned to the top, unbuttoned with your favorite shirt, or either way with the sleeves rolled. Let your imagination run wild!

My guy is a lean man, about 5' 8" and smaller stature than most (in a woman's world, we'd call it small-boned). Generally, Small shirts might fit him in the torso, but the sleeves are BARELY too short (as in just short enough to be annoying); and the width across the upper back pulls a tad too much. But Medium shirts are too big, too roomy, and look like he doesn't know how to shop for himself. How does this shirt run - true, smallish or larger? I know it's not a fitted shirt, but can you perhaps tell me the sleeve length of the Small and the Medium? And maybe any other measurements that will help me decide?

It helps. Can you clarify if the sleeve length is collar to cuff or shoulder seam to cuff?

Hey Winddriven, Thanks for your question. I checked this item out in the warehouse and the hangtag says made in Mexico.

I could be wrong, because I don't have direct experience with this specific product, but I believe the fabric is woven in Oregon.

Greetings Lumberjackman. This is a hotly debated topic, and as you are likely concerned about the welfare of your fellow lumberjacks, I have embarked upon a ruthless quest to determine your answer. This flannel shirt hails from the rolling hills of Pendleton, Oregon - which at first glance lacks any groves of substantial forest with which lumberjacks could practice their craft. It is my belief that the shirts are transported via logging truck to a stand of majestic firs deep in the Pacific Northwest where the loggers then construct and piece together all the flannel by hand. Each stitch is hand sewn by the mighty paws of the lumberjacks, thus ensuring the BEST possibly quality. I haven't asked, but I estimate it takes about 4 lumberjacks to piece together this particular model from finish work, to buttons, to fabric cutting, etc. Ultimately the goal of constructing a flannel of this quality and durability is to attract a fellow lumberlady (or lumberfellow). It significantly increases your chance of success by a factor of 6.5 Good luck! If you need more information, please watch the following: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5zey8567bcg

Additionally in the event that you are concerned with my experience and credentials as a logger... I attended the University of Puget Sound years ago, and our mascot was in fact the LOGGERS, so I feel that I have sufficient experience to comment upon your query. I hope you have found this enlightening. GO LOGGERS. -- hack hack -- chop chop --

As per the sizing chart, the sleeve length on a Small is 33 inches versus 33.75 on the Medium, and they list 36-38 inches for the Small chest and 39-41 for the Medium... we hear that it fits pretty true to size. Hopefully this information helps!
