Beginner to biking
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I am new to biking an just getting into simple work on my road bike. I bought this kit to get me started. The tools seem really well made and the tool bag is really nice. I do wish the kit came with a cassette chain wip. Price for the kit seems fair for the tool, I wouldn't say it was a steal of a deal...
Hi, I got this toolkit but, am not sure how one is supposed to use the cassette locking socket. What does it attach to?
The cassette cog wrench attaches to the 11T or 12T ring, and the cassette locking socket fits inside it. You will then hold the cassette in place with the cog wrench, and use an adjustable wrench to loose or tighten the cassette using the cassette locking socket.
Hi and thanks for the tip! I tried it and it worked and, it was great not to use a chain whip! If I could make a suggestion or two for the kit, I would suggest making the cassette locking socket slightly longer as it seems to barely fit in the casket locking when using cassette cog wrench. Also, it seems to me that the kit should include a wrench as it would be good to have everything one needs to take off/put on a cassette in the kit.
Again, thanks for your help!
