Transfer Sleeveless Baselayer

Investing in a base layer might seem like an unnecessary step, especially when you're comfortable in the kit you already have, but layering with the Pearl Izumi men's Transfer Sleeveless Base Layer can actually enhance a jersey's cooling and moisture-wicking capabilities on a hot summer day. The sleeveless design is versatile enough to fit under jerseys from early in the season through fall, with a contoured fit to follow your body movements in the saddle and smooth, chafe-free seaming that you'll hardly notice over your bibs.

The Transfer is made from Pearl's ultralight P.R.O. Transfer mesh fabric that speeds up the evaporation process as you sweat. Airy mesh constitutes the base layer's construction to further encourage airflow, and when the weather takes a cooler turn in the fall, the entire base layer will continue to wick moisture away from your skin under thermal layers, warding off a damp chill that can make the final 30 minutes of a base mile ride miserable.

  • A lightweight layer to help you keep cool
  • PRO Transfer mesh wicks away sweat and dries
  • Cycling-specific fit is comfortable in the saddle
  • Next to skin fit accelerates moisture wicking
  • Open mesh panels in back maximize ventilation

I got a few of these for riding indoors on a trainer and they are great: light, fit snug, help keep me cool and whick away sweat. The tag is on the outside and can be cut off, but would have been better if it was not there at all. Overall, very satisfied.

I have three of these baselayers, I love them. I wear them every time I ride and they do what they’re supposed to do, keep me cool on warm days and warm on cool days by wicking away the sweat and keeping me dry. They fit snugly, so size up if you’re between sizes. I’m a middle-aged dad-bod guy and the large works great for me.

If you are in between sizes go one size up. It's really tight fitting - well, I guess it is supposed to but if I had 2 more pounds it would be too tight.

TIGHT FIT

I've used it several times

This baselayer was bought mainly because my other ones are white and after a few uses they turn grey. I bought it in small because I own several from castelli, giordana etc, and this its not strechy as the other. Great but not that great.

Very light, very tight. If you're in between sizes, I'd recommend going up. It's made to fit against the skin. That makes it a bit tough to get on and off, but this one is my go-to base layer. I've worn it on cooler days and even on extra-hot days. It does seem to keep me dryer than with a jersey alone.
