    Versatile performance for any trail.

Striking a balance between dedicated trail and cross-country shorts, the Pearl Izumi Women's Summit Shorts let you crush your favorite stretches of trail without soaking up passing showers. Treated with a water-shedding DWR coating, the Summit is a great choice for variable weather patterns often encountered in alpine environments. Its 4-way stretch ripstop stands up to regular abuse without restricting movement on the trail. And because it has a relaxed cut, you'll find there's plenty of room for dodging trail obstacles, such as rock gardens and root sections. Pair it with your favorite short liner for maximum comfort on longer rides where extra padding is needed.

    Happy for comfortable shorts

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I grabbed a pair of these Pearl Izumi Summit Shorts for a versatile baggy short with solid pocket space and placement. A few other ladies specific shorts I've snagged don't have ample pocket room (much like women's jeans), and I don't always feel like riding fully loaded with a big hydration bag on a quick ride. These have plenty of room for your wallet and keys, when you feel like riding with less on you. Also, over all, a really comfortable fit with a bit of stretch in the fabric.

    Loving them so far!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'3"

I've worn these shorts on 4 rides, totaling about 80 miles, and have been very happy with them so far! The length is long enough to go over kneepads but not so long that I feel like I can't pedal all day in them. The fabric is tough enough to withstand the occasional fall, but stretchy enough to allow full range of motion. It is not as breathable as other, lightweight shorts which may be a problem on the 85+ degree days, but so far it hasn't been an issue.

While everyone has different body shapes, I have found these to be a great fit for me. I have 3 other pairs of Pearl Izumi shorts, all in smalls. Small waist but larger booty and thighs. Don't feel any binding while pedaling or descending. For reference, I wear size 4 jeans, small in Pearl Izumi, medium in Castelli and Assos, size 6 in Shredly shorts, size small in Nike clothing.

    Go a size up!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: small

I usually buy small in everything but these were extra small in my opinion. I think they are also a bit pricey just because they don't come with a liner. I ended up returning them and going with ZOIC brand shorts.

Worth keeping but not my fave

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 132lbs

These are slightly low-riding on the waist, which means that when I'm climbing, I have to cinch them up higher so they don't slide down and get uncomfortable. I'd prefer the waist to be a little higher. Also, I am not one to bulk up, and am pretty lean, but the legs on these are on the slim side and if I had more muscle they really wouldn't be wearable while riding. They work ok with my GForm knee pads but wouldn't work with bulkier ones. I didn't feel like paying to return them so I do wear them and they look cool but they're not my favorite fit.
