Pursuit Attack Bib Short

Pearl Izumi modeled its Pursuit Attack Bib Shorts after its elite Attack Bib Shorts, offering riders a more affordable version of the elite level design for everyday training rides. With a classic eight-panel construction made out of Pearl Izumi's SELECT Transfer Dry fabric, these bib shorts are an everyday workhorse that'll reliably pull moisture away from your skin as you sweat to keep you cool and comfortable.

Pearl Izumi includes a drop tail design, so if you've never worn bibs before and are hesitant to relinquish the convenience of regular shorts, the Pursuit Attack promises to make on-the-go nature calls quicker and easier than you'd expect them to be with bibs. To make sure you receive the support and cushioning you need throughout long days spent in the saddle, Pearl Izumi includes its soft, stretchy Select Pursuit 1:1 Chamois, featuring foam arranged in a strategic topography acting as a loyal barrier between you and your saddle. A standard nine-inch inseam and silicone leg grippers provide you with secure leg coverage as well as protection from the sun, and reflective accents help to increase your visibility for the rides that last longer than you expect them to.

  • Workhorse cycling bibs with advanced comfort at an affordable tag
  • Select Transfer fabric wicks moisture and dries quickly
  • Shorts move with you thanks to 8-panel anatomic cut
  • Breathable mesh uppers allow sweat to escape
  • Silicone at legs lock hems in place
  • Cushion your sit bones with Select Pursuit 1:1 chamois
  • Boost low light visibility with reflective accents

Great for the price

I've put it through the wringer

These were my first pair of bibs - I've always worn shorts in the past - and they are more comfortable than I imagined! Most of my rides are 20-30 miles but I did an 80 mile ride in these and didn't have any issues with them. I really appreciate the drop tail, which makes it way easier to go to the bathroom mid-ride (one of my prior hesitations to switching to bibs). I ordered the same size - small - that I wear in Pearl Izumi shorts. The padding in these seems a little more sparse than my shorts, but I don't notice it while on the bike, so they just might need to be replaced a little sooner.

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Runs small

I have other pearl Izumi riding pants that fit well so went with my usual size. These felt tighter than my others but I kind of like that and they look good. Unfortunately once I was riding they felt restrictive on my legs. I tried moving the hem of the leg higher on my thigh but it didn’t really make any difference. I’m hoping they might stretch some but they are definitely smaller than others. I am 5’7”, 120 pounds. I got size medium.

Straps too short

I returned this product before using it

At 5'3", this was my first experience with bib straps being too short. I always get XS in all brands of bibs, and the fit of the actual shorts was very good. If you're shorter than me, you'll probably like these.

Fine shorts, don't like the drop tail

Shorts themselves are fine but I didn't see in the description that these are drop tail - meaning the bib is not actually connected to the shorts in the back. This allows you to pull the shorts down to go to the bathroom without having to take your jersey off and take the bibs off of your shoulders. In my opinion, this kind of defeats the purpose of having the bib. With these drop tail shorts, you still have a lot of elastic around the waist, which I think gets uncomfortable during long rides.

True To Size- very comfortable

I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
True to size

Consistent sizing across the brand makes it an easy to order item. These were comfortable for a 70 mile ride, and are my new go to shorts!

I bought a pair of these a while back and liked them so much I just bought another. They're comfortable and easy to go to the bathroom without having to take your Jersey off as I have to do with my other bibs. I wasn't sure about the pad, but have ridden 100 miles in these with no issues. Not sure what another person meant in their review since there isn't any elastic so they are not tight around the waist? I'm 5'3" 112lbs and the small fits perfect.
