    PRO Escape Thermal 3/4 Tight

Here at Competitive Cyclist, we would much rather wear our kneewarmers connected to our cycling bottoms and not as an added accessory. The dreaded sagging warmer is always a pain and we tend to get irritated on our thighs when we have two fabrics rubbing against our saddle several thousand times during the course of a ride. If you are looking for some bottoms that will keep your knees warm and full on tights are a little overboard, have a look at Pearl Izumi's Men's Pro Escape Thermal 3/4 Tights.

The knickers are designed to excel in temps around 45- to 55-degrees Fahrenheit and will keep you comfortable in the mixed conditions that we so often see during the spring and fall with their over-the-knee coverage. Thermal Fleece with water-shedding PI Dry technology maintains warmth if you hit some precipitation on your journey. To keep from overheating, the upper bib construction utilizes Pearl's Transfer fabric for comfort and wicking abilities. Raw edge construction on leg opening and bib upper keep the garment in place without digging into you skin. A good chamois is cornerstone to any good cycling bottom and Pearl includes the excellent PRO Escape 1:1 chamois with floating top sheet design and we can attest to its wonderful comfort. BioViz elements reflect light for nighttime visibility.

    • Thermal Fleece knickers for all-weather performance
    • PRO Transfer fabric on bib upper for superior comfort
    • Raw edge construction on leg opening and bib upper for comfort
    • PRO Escape 1:1 chamois delivers unmatched comfort
    • BioViz reflective elements for low-light visibility

Surprised by the Performance and Comfort

I have tried Castelli and Girodana both great quality products but lack the thermal quality needed for temperatures in the high 30's and mid-40's. I like the compression feel of these knickers and the leg grippers are better than Castelli in my opinion. The chamois is thicker than my preference but once I have broken in the knickers they are comfortable to ride in. I would highly recommend these knickers.

I have been riding for over 30 years and tried many various brands of bib knickers. These are probably the best of the bunch bar none. Super comfortable with a great chamois, matched with leg grippers that stay in place but don’t squeeze. Perfect for rides in the 45 to 55 degree range.

I was once an unbeliever when it came to Knickers. I thought they were a dumb idea. I thought, why would I buy Knickers or 3/4 tights when I could just run knee warmers with shorts, or full-length tights. Now my eyes are open and these Pearl 3/4 tights are simply fantastic. I have worn these a few times, most recently on a night MTB ride that started around 34 degrees and ended around 28 degrees. Now while this is a lower temperature range than I would typically recommend for 3/4 tights, they performed exceptionally well, keeping me from thinking about the cold temps. Ideally, you would wear these more in the low 40's to high 50's. I would say they are better in colder temps than any of the other 3/4 tights that I own. Knickers are just so much more comfortable and convenient than wearing shorts and knee warmers, they are for sure warmer where it counts, but they don't trap all of the heat that full tights do, and this keeps you from overheating as easily at warmer temps. I highly recommend these. I wear an XL in Castelli and a Large in Assos These 3/4 tights from Pearl fit wonderfully in a Large

    Better late than never!

I don’t write a lot of reviews but this product deserves it. I refused to buy a pair knickers for years (price). Finally purchased them with the 25% holiday discount. Got off work this morning and went on a 1 hour ride. 35 degrees, no wind, and they performed flawlessly. The knickers cover what needs covering. The thermal fabric is soft and comfortable. Love them. Wish I had purchased years ago! More than worth the price! The quality appears just as good as my other pearl gear. I expect to get years of service from with proper care.

I’ve used these all winter. Rides that start warm and get cold. Or vice versa. Great wind and rain blocking.

Permanent waterproofed fibers that will shake dry but maintains the breathability of fleece.

    Quite comfortable on winter rides

Familiarity:I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought these as a gift for a friend. He totally digs them, and is happy that he can finally get some winter miles in. I'm going to grab a pair for myself.

    super comfy

Wore these today in the 40’s and they were extremely comfortable. The PRO thermal fabric is very soft and not bulky. The chamois is very nice too. Highly recommend for those cold days that you don’t need full length legs.

    Nice Bib Tights

I haven't had a chance to ride these in the cold yet, but fit is on par with items in the same line, quality seems nice, and I think the insulation will work nicely!
