    ELITE Thermal Wool Socks

When the mercury plummets and you're still committed to the open road, pull on the Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Wool Socks. Thanks to the magic of merino, the Elite Thermal insulates even when wet and sucks moisture away from your skin like a vacuum, so you can pedal through winter's worst without freezing your feet off.

The Elite Thermal Socks are made from Pearl's Elite Transfer Merino wool yarn. This light but warm material provides a natural defense against discomfort and odor and moves moisture away from your skin to keep you pedaling comfortably. To ensure comfort, Pearl shaped the socks with anatomic arch compression, a flat-toe design, and strategically placed light cushioning under the foot to help prevent chafing and blisters.

    Long term use review

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Thought I’d leave another review of these since I’ve used them 2+ years now and reordered some. Still giving them 5 stars even though they now have holes in them just above my big toe. I use them a TON though and after two winters of being used 3-4 times a week in Colorado I expect them to wear. I really like how thin they are with relation to warmth. Cycling shoes fit snug and since summer socks are super thin it’s nice not to lose all blood flow in your feet because your socks are too thick during the winter. Just ordered a couple more pairs and I’m sure they’ll last me another couple winters.

    Great Winter Sock

For how thin these socks are they are very warm. I have a few pairs and use them anytime I ride outside in the winter. I'm comfortable using the socks without shoe covers down to about 45 degrees.

One of the best in its class

My wife got me these thermal socks as Xmas gift two years ago. I purchased a bunch of other winter/thermal/merino socks since then but these have become my go to socks when I need high performance. These socks are incredibly warm given that they are not very thick and my feet never get sweaty during rides. I usually wear these with toe warmers down to 40-50F and add a layer of shoe covers below 40F. Surprisingly they look like new considering I wear them at least once a week in the winter.

I use these socks in 45 and under degree weather. They fit true to size(I'm a 10.5 and got the large) and seem quite durable. During the winter months in Colorado I use them 2-3 times a week. No major wear so far and I like that they aren't so thick blood flow is cut off to my feet.
