    Leave the jacket at home.

During spring and fall, your windproof winter jacket is often overkill, yet your summer jersey isn't insulated enough for these chilly transitional months. The Pearl Izumi Elite Thermal Arm Warmers are designed for just this purpose, providing a greater degree of warmth than Pearl's standard Thermal Lite series of warmers, without being as warm as its winter-specific P.R.O. Barrier warmer.

Utilizing Pearl's Elite Thermal Fleece panels, these arm warmers assist in wicking moisture off your skin for superior comfort when you're riding hard. These fleece panels keep your arms toasty-warm through cool-to-chilly conditions. Advanced anatomic shaping provides a left and right arm-specific fit. Other key features include a plush, wide elastic binding with silicone grip for a secure, stay-put fit, as well as reflective elements for boosted visibility on the road.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Noticeably warmer. I broke these in during the Redbull 400 in Park City. Any tighter would be restrictive. I would recommend trying them at REI and then buying from BC. lolz

    Tight at the bicep

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I I'm a 5'9.5" 155lbs with cyclist "guns" i.e. non-existent, and the size large are too tight around my biceps. They are too long as well, but I couldn't fit the mediums at all without them feeling like a tourniquet. I'm hoping that they loosen over time, or else I'm going to see if I can get a friend with much larger arms to wear them and stretch them out a little.

    snuggies for your arms

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size

    *written by the girlfriends perspective
I am 5'8" 135 lbs, not massive arms. I have an old pair of arm warmers that are a small and frequently fall down, these however are tight like a tiger. I have longer arms than most dainty ladies and I have enough room to cover from the glove to upper arm. They are warm and get the job done.

    Gets the job done

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 180lbs

I have used these a little, but have liked them so far. My only complaint is they are a little tight around the biceps, but that could be because I am so SWOLL...

    Excellent with caveat

Pearl Izumi USA is based in Boulder, CO. They know Winter cycling.

These mid-weight arm warmers are super high quality and perfect for early morning rides. Start your ride with these under a good short-sleeve jersey; take them off when it warms up, stash in your rear jersey. Perfect.

Pros: 1.) Soft, fleecy and warm on the inside. 2.) Specific left and right anatomic fit. 3.) Excellent quality and QC from Pearl Izumi, per usual.

Caveat: The upper arm band is a little restrictive (tight) for those with larger biceps. I think these are best for slim to average weight riders. Therefore, these arm warmers may not work so great for those with a bigger upper body.

Fit: I'm 5'10" 185 lbs. I'm a little bigger in the upper body. The M fit perfect except the upper arm band was a little tight (but ok). The L was too long. Don't buy ones too long, they will bunch up.

      New and Improved

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: medium

I prefer an armwarmer that is not overly complicated. In the past, I have used simple warmers that are basically a Roubaix tube. This has always worked, but the simple silicone cuff at the upper arm would suffer from slippage.

I was drawn to the Elite warmers because of substantial upper cuff and the articulation of the arm itself. The thick cuff keeps the warmer firmly in place without being uncomfortable and the anatomical fit is comfortable.

I have normal sized biceps. In other words, I do not hit the gym and work on my guns. I went with the size medium, which fit perfectly.
