    Escape the indoors.

There's nothing that gets you back into the swing of riding after the gray, wet days of early spring quite like a new kit. When you return to the roads after months of indoor workouts, do it in the Pearl Izumi ELITE Escape Bib Short. This redesigned everyday short will give you a comfortable start to the season without blowing your upgrade budget for the summer. With a host of smart new tweaks this year, the ELITE Escape boasts a sleeker, cleaner aesthetic than ever, as well as fit details adopted from top-tier kit.

We're especially impressed with the new ELITE Escape 1:1 Chamois. No longer just a single, multi-layered block of foam, this reincarnation features a floating top sheet and a lithe construction that keep the chamois moving with you as you transition from standing to sitting. This significantly cuts down on the likelihood of chafing, especially during those first, often uncomfortable few weeks back in the saddle. As you marvel at just how long it's been since your legs have seen the sun, raw edge leg openings sit softly, but securely, against your skin with subtle silicone printing, while the breathable Lycra blend fabric provides a fit that will feel as supportive for early season muscles as it does for leaner late season ones.

    • Escape the indoors with this redesigned everyday short
    • Form-fitting silhouette and Lycra blend supports muscles
    • Classic 9.5-inch inseam ideal for training rides
    • Updated chamois reduces weight and likelihood of chafing
    • Airy mesh bibs wick moisture as you ride
    • BioViz reflective accents improve visibility in low light

    Nice Bibs

I'm 6ft tall 170-175 lbs and use size large.
Fit is great, and they are very comfortable FOR SHORT RIDES.
PI no longer makes the elite InRCool bibs with the "3-D" chamois which I have used on many Century rides with no trouble at all. Pearl suggested the Elite Escape with the "1:1" Chamois which was described as more comfortable than the Elite Persuit. In any event, they are fine (for me) up to about 45 miles, after that not so much. I'll use my older InRcools for this years Century...

      Soft & comfy

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 147lbs

Ordered a variety of bib shorts & chose this one. After a wash before wearing, I took these for a hot, humid 22 mile ride this morning & they were comfy the whole way. I assume they'll perform well over longer days in the saddle too. The fabric on these is the softest of any bib shorts I own. And the chamois design—though different than most—works as well as it is advertised to do. The leg openings are soft with grippers on the inside; still rode up my slender legs a bit but much nicer for me than the Pearl Izumi Elite Pursuit bibs. (Read my reviews for those too.)

      Bib brand bibs.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

Pearl's bibs are made more for enjoying the ride than enjoying the shopping experience. If you're a racer/Strava fiend, they're probably not for you, but I like the Escapes just fine on most rides I do. Compared to Italian race kit, Pearl runs large-ish, which means it's in line with NA sizing expectations. I wear my normal athletic shorts size.

      comfort, cut and look

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XL
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 197lbs

I love pearl izumi, i admit, i wear a lot of castelli, just as a preference, but i do also have a lot of pi in my closet.
This particular kit is awesome! fits well, normally i go with a L, this time i went with an XL and it fit nice, not too loose, yet still close to my body.

Colors are different, which i loved because it got me out of the traditional red, white and black kits, which i have a lot of.

      Great kit!

      Choose the large

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 168lbs

I am impressed with the quality and the way they feel when on. I tried the Medium and Large because I thought I might be able to get away with a medium, but the large felt better.

      Excellent value

I have two pairs of these bibs and for the money, they are great. I wear size L and the fit is good. The pad and compression are not quite as good as the PRO bibs but they are also $60 cheaper. Good everyday 1-3 hour training bibs.
