Elite Escape AmFib Bib Tight

Preventing the winter doldrums begins by continuing your riding even when it gets brutally cold out. Pick up the Pearl Izumi Men's Elite AmFib Bib Tight and keep cycling when the competition has long hung up their wheels for the winter months. This full-length bib tight keeps you protected from light precipitation and frigid fronts with its wind and water-resistant AmFIB softshell fabric on the front of the legs. Thermal Fleece with PI Dry treatment on the back of the legs offer enhanced thermo-regulation without compromising mobility. PRO Transfer fabric on the upper bibs ensure you don't overheat and wicks sweat efficiently. A pocket on the right thigh keeps things close at hand so you can eat on the fly and not fumble with your jacket pockets. Ankle zips make the tights easy to put on so you can quickly go out before changing your mind about riding and once you do, the BioViz reflective elements ensure you are noticed in low light.

Excellent tights for VERY cold weather

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

I bought the Elite Escape AmFib Bib Tights to use for speed skating on the frozen Rideau Canal in Ottawa, Canada. The tights were perfect for the -20C/19F weather in Ottawa. I am 5'9"-170# with an athletic build and the tights were maybe a tad bit tight which was not a concern once I started skating. My average speed for my skating sessions is 15 mph but more speed will not put a dent into the warmth of these tights. Thouroughly recommended.

I've been wanting a pair of AMFIB tights for a few years, some of my friends have them and love them. Yes, the fabric is thick, probably too warm for above 35*F (or 45F if raining) and the articulated knee for me is in the wrong spot (I guess I have a long femur) but they work. Wind doesn't get through. Today's ride didn't get above 30F I had 2 hats, ski gloves, liners and hand warmers, but my legs were toasty! As always great service and quick shipping from Competitive Cyclist.

I get cold easily. I used to ride when it was in the single digits. Now I am on my rollers whenever it's below 35. After getting very cold in my private parts last weekend on a 40 degree day (I was wearing fleece lined bib knickers) I decided to try out these tights. I almost sent them back when I got them out of the box: the material seemed too thick and lacking in stretch. Instead, I threw caution to the wind and gave them a try. Boy, am I glad I decided to test ride these tights. It was 30 degrees with 20mph wind. I felt none of it. The wind block did it's thing, and with a pair of Giordana Roubaix knickers underneath I was comfortable but not roasting. These tights prove that there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad clothing. I am hooked. They are snug (I got a medium: I'm 5' 10" and weigh 145lbs) in the mid section but not uncomfortable, but sizing might be an issue depending on your body type. That said, these are my new favorite winter accessory. I wish I had them when I owned a '68 VW Bug that had no heat.

Fit is weird - tight in quads & calves

I returned this product before using it

The fit is off when compared to other winter bib tights that I’ve owned. These run tight in quads and calves; however, they run loose in knees and ankles. Very odd… Never had a set of bibs so off from a proportional perspective. I tried a L and XL and returned both.

I gave this product a one * the first time around. But what a difference a size makes. By going from XL to a XXL the size fit perfectly. I could now wear all of my shorts underneath. If you want the extreme warmth (25-45 F) these (Pearl Izumi) are the Best choice. From 45-55 F, I wear wind tights (Louis Garneau) and from 50-60, Giordana shorts and knee warmers. Then finally, 60+, just shorts (Assos and Giordana).

BTW what's your height and weight so I can get a guage on sizing. Thanks in Advance

Perfect for cold weather

Perfect for cold weather riding, and not too expensive. I like the no-chamois for the versatility. Can wear whichever shorts underneath, and also can be used for xc skiing/running etc.
