Good to the last friction slab.

The Men's Venga Rock Pants from Patagonia are ready to hit the rock with you this weekend. Thanks to the durable organic cotton in these pants, they can stand up to knee-bars, slab-sliding, and downclimbing of all sorts. A bit of spandex in the pants, as well as a gusseted crotch and articulated knees, makes sure that these pants move with you and stay comfortable at all times. For optimal waist fittings, Patagonia added its OppoSet adjustable waist system that lets you dial in the perfect fit with just one hand.

Great for all types of climbing.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I have bouldered, sport climbed, and trad climbed in the desert in these pants. They have a great range of motion and allow me to move easily. The material is durable and shows no signs of wear even after scumming my way up chimneys on desert towers or throwing a knee bar on a sport climb. These are quickly becoming my favorite pair of pants.

    Super comfortable.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 30
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 155lbs

These are super comfortable but like other reviewers have said, they run a little large. I am 5'8'' 155 lbs. I tried the 28 to start and they were too small in the waist and crotch area. I bumped up to the 30 and they are just a little big. There is an internal belt that will make them a little smaller on the waist.
Overall these pants work great for climbing and chilling. I got the Navy blue color and they kind of look like Hospital scrubs to be completely honest.

Runs too large for medium type person

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 158lbs

I think that I'm typical medium person guy, for example I always buy The North Face products Medium sizes and it just fits me as if they were sewed for me. I also have pants from Black Diamond, Marmot and all of them are Medium either 32. So I've bought this one also 32 Size. The length is really good, but as for the waist and width of each legs are too loose and relaxed.

    My favorite pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 33
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 180lbs

These pants fit exactly how i like pants to fit which means they are a little looser than some like. They are lightweight which makes them perfect for the summer/fall in SLC. I will be buying more of these in the future.

    Light yet tough

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 31
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 65lbs

The first rule of climbing pants is to not notice climbing pants! These fit well beneath my harness and my movement is never held back by them.

These are great pants for trad climbing when the temperatures rise. The fabric is light enough that I don't overheat yet durable enough that they protect my knees from scraps with granite! The adjustable waist fitting system helps keep the pants in place under a harness without having to use a belt - a huge plus in my opinion!

    got two pairs for backpacking

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I got two pairs of these babies for a backpacking trip in the Uinta mountains of Utah. Even after miles of hiking, I never felt any rubbing or discomfort. The material is soft with a little stretch to it, making it super comfortable for hiking and just sitting around camp. I've taken them on multiple hikes since the backpacking trip and they still impress me. They run plenty large around the waist, but they're not as long as I thought they would be; This isn't a problem though.
Patagonia makes great stuff, so I'm excited to see how they hold up after I "put them through the wringer".

    Comfy.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

These pants are really comfortable and flexible. The sizes do run just a little big, so maybe consider sizing down for the length.

    seem pretty solid

    • Weight: 175lbs

Only worn these around town and to the climbing gym so far, but they have stayed on my legs as I'd hoped! They do run a couple inches large though. Taking them to the desert this weekend, so will report back.

    Amazing Hiking Pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 36 waist 32 length
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 239lbs

I live in New Mexico and go off-roading and shooting out in the desert fairly often. I bought these because I want to continue to wear pants in the Summer because of all the scrub brush and whatnot I run into when out in the wilderness. When it's cold out, they cut the wind. When it's warmer out, they're still lightweight enough that I don't sweat to death. Huge fan of these pants. With Patagonia pants I usually go a size up, but in this case they ended up being too big. I sent them back and went with my regular size, a 36 waist, and they're a perfect fit.

    Venga rock pants

    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 36
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 185lbs

I ordered the black Venga's as they were on sale for $55. I use them climbing and casual wear. I'm a 36 (bit of a chunky monkey) but the fit is great, nice and loose lots of movement. Most size 36 pants are tight through the hip but not the Venga's...perfect. I really like the adjustable waist. A little long in the leg but I just roll them a bit. A nice buy can't be beat

    So many lunges

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 5'10"

Bought these for my boyfriend, and this is what he says:
The Patagonia Men's Venga Rock pants are terrific. The fabric is light, breathable, and stretchy, allowing for lots of lunging. I wear them 24/7.

    Nothing is perfect.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 6'00"
    • Weight: 174lbs

These size a little bigger than a standard pair of Levis in the waist. I bought a 32 and they're a little roomy.

The fabric continues to wear much quicker than the lighter RPS pants and retains moisture. This is frustrating when your working hard, then sweating and your pants are sticking to you as you try to work moves with your legs. On that note, they are cut wonderfully to accommodate movement.

Overall, the RPS is way better simply because the fabric is better and more durable.

    Fantastic

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 168lbs

Probably the most comfortable pair of climbing pants I have ever had. They are durable but the fabric is soft to the touch. The adjustable waist is the best feature, especially for climbing where I don't want to have to wear a belt. 10/10

    Way too big.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 34
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 200lbs

I bought these for climbing and the pants seem like they would work well for this use. The fabric feels pretty soft (have not washed them) and has some stretch to it, but they still seem like they will last. However, they are 'uuuuuge. I am 6'4", 200lbs and usually a 34 works for me in Patagonia's gear. I am thinking about ordering again in a 32 but am a bit annoyed by the $6.99 return fee.

    Favorite pants I've ever owned

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 160lbs

These are seriously the best pants I've ever found for climbing. They are lightweight so that you can stay cool and comfortable while you're working hard. Additionally, they fit just they way I want to allow complete mobility while making awkward movements. The adjustable waist is also a sleek and awesome feature for a completely comfortable fit while eliminating the need for a belt. On top of being perfect for climbing, I love wearing these on my off days too. They are just so stylish and comfortable! I would gladly exchange all of my other pants for more pairs of the venga

    I like these.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 32
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Cool thigh "cell phone" pocket but good accessibility for other things when seated (can depend where your leg loops are positioned). Underwater blue is a beautiful bright like blue, is just a really cool color. ~31" waist, 6'1" and the 32 fits me nice. If i have compressions shorts on i ought to have a belt on 'em. Length is good to moderate. In my bare feet they just barely drag so i have to roll a smidge up. Would write another review for another pair ;)

These pants have been great for climbing. The are lighter, but still reasonably durable.

    front and rear

Here's a front and rear view.

Wore the Vengas for a day of teaching in the classroom. When school was out I tied my boots, and went for a walk along the river. They're good to go for a wide range of pursuits.

    An outstanding pair of pants.

I've had these pants for going on two months now, and I've worn them several times each week.. They have basiacally become a go-to, do-it-all pair of pants for me.

Since I've only got one, i'll list the Con's first:

    - Not super burly material (this isn't a huge issue, and for burly pursuits, i'll throw on the carhartts).

    Now for the pro's:

    - Light weight material

-Right amount of stretch, and a gusseted crotch

    -No nut-so washing instructions

-Nice enough to wear to work, do great on the trail, comfortable enough to lounge in

    -Well placed big pockets

-Sizing is right on (im a pretty standard 36 and the 36 fits great) and there is also an adjustment feature that i have not used, but it works to cinch them down a little

-Sturdy belt loops made of webbing

-Leg hole is not crazy big, and not restricting

All around these are pretty b.a. pants.

    Definitely recommend.
