You’ve been obsessively checking the weather report and now’s your chance to slip on the Patagonia Women's Untracked Pants and ride. Since these snow pants are made to move with you, they never bunch or slow you down. The superior construction combines a soft yet resilient three-layer nylon Gore-Tex fabric for waterproof, breathable, and windproof protection with a soft, brushed interior for cozy warmth that manages moisture without adding bulk. There is also a DWR (durable water repellent) finish that prevents moisture from soaking in.

The Untracked Pants are semi-fitted with a flexed pattern at the knees. This allows exceptional mobility, which is helpful for hiking to a backcountry gold mine of pow or riding aggressively in intense conditions. There are mesh-lined thigh zip vents to help circulate air and prevent clammy warmth, gaiters with gripper elastic and to keep snow from slipping into your boots, and watertight zippers to to reduce bulk and weight.

Since you enjoy a custom fit while you ride, the waist has belt loops, adjustable elastic tabs, and a snap closure with a zip fly. So no matter how crazy your ski run gets, the pants stay put and keep you comfy. There is also an embedded RECCO avalanche rescue reflector to make your mom feel better about your hobby, as well as hand-warmer, thigh, and back zip pockets to hold your ski pass, snacks, phone, and action camera.

Like the pant, but runs baggy

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

Another great product from Patagonia, and while I am sure the technical components would perform perfectly in stormy and deep powder conditions, I found these pants to simply be too bulky. Returning this item for a more fitted ski pant.

    great pants!

These pants are great. I wore them all winter. Wish they were a little warmer but otherwise fantastic.

    Great Pants!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

These pants have great fit and function. The pockets are great and the adjustable waistbands help provide great comfort. They are not only warm, but they keep you dry as well! My wife normally wears a small and they are true to size.

    Winner

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I actually wanted to NOT like these pants because I was trying out a few different brands and already have a ton of gear from Patagonia. Alas, Patagonia wins again. These pants beat out the competition. They'll work great for both in bound chairlift runs with a thicker layer underneath, and on backcountry tours with a thin layer.

Great quality pants, very comfortable. However, they run big and baggy. Had to really cinch the waist and there's lots of room in the butt and thigh area... with baselayer underneath. Otherwise, they perform great on the slopes.

    Excellent pants

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got these as a gift for my fiance, and she likes them so far. They do fit a bit big so size down if you're petite. Also the material is a little less durable than other shell pants because they're more backcountry oriented. She put a hole in them on day 1 (it's only about 1cm long), but other than that they're great. Hip ventilation is a big win, and they fit over any ski/snowboard boot!

    Amazing pants, bad sizing

I love patagonia. Great products, never let me down. I am an ex-collegiate skier and avid all-mountain skier in my retirement. I have skier thighs and a small waist. I wear a 10/12 jean in order to fit my quads, and according to the size charts that puts me about a Medium in their snow pants....not the case. The large is too tight to even ski let alone tour with a pair of spandex underneath so I had to size up to the XL (a size 16 jean according to Patagonia) so I could have mobility in my legs. The XL is falling off my waist, but the pants are amazing. Note, the XL is sold out in all versions of Patagonia snow pants. Pretty pumped I grabbed the last pair. Perhaps they should get real with the shape of women's bodies or make more XL's and less Smalls to get with their consumer base. Otherwise, amazing pants. Strong, warm, light and waterproof.

Kelly A. thanks for mentioning the need for Patagonia to make more realistic sizes for some of us (like me) who are not skin and bones. Women's bodies come in all sizes and it's a shame that it's so difficult to wear an ethical brand when the size range is so limited.

    Preeeeee' nice.

Pros: Gore-Tex pro is incredibly waterproof and breathable and doesn't sound like you're stomping on a bag of cheetos when you wear it, nice feminine cut with room for curves and muscular legs, great construction.

Cons: Gets suuuuper baggy as you size up-- I'd say they run a bit large. I'm a bit tall and gangly, so I was swimming in the medium although the length was good. The small was a good fit, but a bit short. I know it's cosmetic, but the chunky zippers in offset colors look sooo damn goofy to me. Just not quite as silky smooth and fit for my build as the Arc'teryx Sentinel!

Just like any Patagonia product.. excellent craftsmanship, fits well, last forever and a bit pricey.. Anyways, these are bomb proof and probably I will hand these down to my grandchildren one day.

Best fitting pant I've ever owned

I'm 5'1" so finding ski pants has always been really difficult for me. It seems I return everything I've ever ordered online...but not these! I ordered the XS. They were a tad long but with my ski boots they looked perfect and shortened in length. I have a bit of a booty and large quads for a girl of my size (112 lbs) but these pants fit perfectly and I can easily pull them over yoga pants AND can pull my knee to my chest. The material feels soft for Gore-Tex, unlike some other brands where the fabric is so stiff that it feels like wearing plastic over my legs. I love these! Haven't gotten to wear them in the snow yet. FYI - This pant model is from the 2014/2015 season

        Favorite ski pants

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: Medium
        • Height: 5'4"
        • Weight: 128lbs

I bought these pants at the end of the season so I haven't tried them out in real cold weather, but they are amazing in spring slush, vents and taped seams kept me cool and dry, the fabric is super high quality. the fit is great, they were just the right length with my ski boots on, and the waist is a little higher so I know no snow will be getting down my pants. I imagine in the single and negative digits I'll just need to throw on a good baselayer and be good to go, I bought the medium which fits roomy enough for layers, without looking huge.

        Awesome ski pants!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I generally don't like to wear insulated ski pants, I prefer to wear shell pants, then layer with a light or expedition weight base layer underneath depending on how warm or cool it is. I purchased these pants in Tempest Purple size medium; for reference I am 5'4" and 136 lbs with an athletic build. I absolutely love these ski pants. The fit is great, not too tight or too loose, plenty of articulation in the knee area, and the quality is superb. The length is perfect with ski boots on. The waist is a little higher, which is great on powder days or when I bend down to buckle my ski boots. My only complaint is that there is only 1 zippered cargo pocket on the front right leg, I prefer zippered cargo pockets on both legs. I have skied in these several times and they are comfortable and breathable. Buy them, you won't be disappointed. I also purchased the Untracked jacket to match, and it also fits like a dream.

        Fancy Pants!

Pretty sure it is scientifically proven that having fly pants makes you shred 10x harder. At least that's what I've found with these babies - the number of lift-line catcalls I've received has sure increased since I upgraded from my blah gray softshell pants.

The fit is (surprisingly) awesome, considering my hit-or-miss experiences with Patagucci. Ample room in the thighs and legs without looking too steezy. Fairly high rise, but that's for the best when you somersault into a couloir in front of all of your friends. Your pride might be bruised, but your tush and lower back stay dry.

I typically wear a light merino base layer underneath - have skied them in -10F to 65F. While I haven't had a problem with them being too cold, sometimes on those long hikes they get a little bit warm: unzip the thigh vents and perfection!

I wish their jackets fit me this well.

XS is a true XS - I'm 5'3", athletic build, they fit great.

        Great product

Patagonia and Backcountry stand up to my expectations. The service is outstanding and the color, fit and quality of these ski pants are super. Just spent a week in Telluride in all conditions from very cold to 30's to blizzard and sunny conditions. I wore patagonia capillene 3 long underwear and a fleece pant underneath, never had any temperature issues. Thanks to Patagonia for a super product and to Back Country for super shipping and service.

        Great pant

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I have used these pants twice in resort and once touring. I am 5'2" 115lbs with athletic legs and a smaller waist, I got the smalls and with a base layer they are a little long but otherwise fit perfectly. Comfortable to ski and hike in. My dream pant has two cargo pockets for storing snacks/hat/gloves/beacon, but the one cargo pocket works great. It is slightly off to the side, but works. I don't tend to overheat much so the vents with very fine mesh lining work great. I like the graphite/navy look. It is nice to have not have a black pant or one that is super bright. I have been picky and looking for new snow pants for the past 3 years and excited to finally find a pair that fit well and are functional.
