This lightweight and quick-drying hoodie provides protection from the sun that extends from the back of your hands to the top of your head thanks to the thumbholes and slightly oversized hood that easily flips up over your favorite fishing hat.

  • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this as a gift for a friend and this is what he had to say:

"This is my second hoodie I’ve purchased, and that’s because I wear my other so often. This is honestly one of my top three favorite pieces of clothing. The hood is massive and I’m able to pull it over the front of my hat over the bill and keep almost all of the sun off of my face so I don’t get burned. The hoodie vents really well too, so I never get too hot. It's perfect for long days outside in so many different scenarios. Also, the holes on the end of the sleeves for your thumbs are a huge plus."

Boyfriend has 3

What else hasn't already been said about this amazing shirt? You can use this for literally whatever you want that's outdoors - climbing, fishing, backpacking, mountain biking, skiing, you name it. My boyfriend is so obsessed he bought 3 of them so that he can destroy each one a little slower.

    lightweight sun protection

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I actually had to wear this shirt for a lifeguard uniform, which I was apprehensive about at first. (long sleeves during the summer???) I ended up loving it and now I wear it outside of work! I will say that it shows sweat and it isn't the mostttt breathable shirt, but the UPF 50 is awesome and it keeps you really cool if you get it wet. It's a looser fitting shirt but I would say it fits pretty true to size. Overall, I love it and would buy it again.

    Best Shirt I Own

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This shirt is probably my favorite article of clothing ever. I've worn it to the beach, in the mountains and everywhere in between and it has been comfortable in every situation and also looks quite nice! If I could only wear one shirt for the rest of my life this would be the one!

6'2" 160 lbs and a medium fits perfectly

    Awesome sun shirt!`

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I bought two of these as gifts - it is lightweight, soft, comfy, and keeps my fair skinned friends out of the sun. They love the hood, long-enough sleeves, use it for hiking, the beach, and SUPing.

    Awesome Fishing Shirt

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This shirt does a great job of keeping the UV out and off the back of your neck with the added hood during long days on the river. Super lightweight and dries quickly in the unfortunate event that you take a dip while wading. I am 6 foot even 170 lbs and bought a large. It fits loosely but feels great! A must have river essential.

    Great sun shirt, very breathable

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I wear this shirt all the time when fishing, or doing anything out in the sun for that matter, and I will be wearing it on warmer late winter/early spring days when touring in the backcountry. It is extremely soft and comfortable and breathes well. I wore it all weekend in Moab and barely ever found myself sweating in it or even noticing that I was wearing a long sleeve shirt. If thinking about buying it, do it, and you won't be bummed. It does run a little large. I am 6'0 and 170ish pounds and bought a medium, and it fits nicely. I'm usually a size large in a lot of my clothes.

    Perfect for moderate summer weather

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I don't wear this as a sunshirt necessarily, but that doesn't stop me from loving it. It's pretty much the best thing ever for moderately warm weather. I wear it towards the end of summer, or at night by the water, and I also love wearing it around my air conditioned office. That being said, I have stood for hours outside in pretty intense dry heat and not noticed that I'm wearing it, so definitely pull the trigger if you're looking for sun protection, or if you're looking for a comfortable and versatile warm weather piece.

    Ditch the Sunscreen

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love this shirt. It keeps the sun off wherever you are. I mostly using while fly fishing but it is now one of my favorite hiking and climbing shirts. Really comfortable and has long arms.

    perfect sun shirt

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

i not only use this fishing but anytime im out in the sun. does great at blacking the sun without making you sweat, very breatheable and cool. wicks away moisture like a champ, and dries extremely quick. ive been fully submerged in the shirt several times and im always amazed at how quickly it dries. quality and reliable. will continue using this shirt for as long as a i can.

    My favorite shirt ever!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I got this shirt just to wear during all my outdoor adventures. It handles Salt Lake City's 90+ degree summers excellently. Hard to believe a long sleeve hooded shirt would be so cool. And the UPF 50 feature is super awesome.
I could recommend this shirt more!
5'10 175 and got a Medium, fits great

    Never taking it off

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I bought this shirt because I'm apparently bad at putting on sunscreen when boating. However, it has quickly become my favorite piece of outdoor clothing. I've worn it hiking and climbing in CO, boating in Chesapeake Bay, and for lots of long hikes and runs in the DC/Shenandoah area. I've never been disappointed in it. The material is lightweight but durable so far and plenty stretchy for climbing. I will probably end up buying a few more as I'd rather wear this than a t-shirt anytime I'm not layering something over it.

It's on the baggy side so at 5'8 170 a small fits me perfectly in the shoulders without much unnecessary material around the waist.

    Best Sun Shirt out there

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Patagonia did it again, This Sun Shirt is hands down the best one I have tried. The loose fit and light colors keep you cool while hiking, climbing or just hanging out in the sun. The hood protects your neck ears and head without making you hot. I can't recommend this enough!

long sleeve, but keeps me cool?!

This is a great summer hiking shirt. It not only blocks the sun, but It manages to keep me somewhat cool while hiking in the 90-100 degree days we have in the summer in Utah. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone who spends a good deal of time outside in the summer.

      The Perfect Shirt

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

This shirt really is as great as everyone says. I am 170 pounds, 6 feet tall, and the medium fits perfect. I'll probably be buying more of these in the future!

Hey BC crew. 5'11" 210lb athletic build guy here. Consistent theme here is that these run pretty big. You folks think I pull off a medium? I don't want to be swimming in a large or have it hang down to my knees. Biggest concern with a medium is the chest and shoulders. What say you?
