Triolet Pant

Skinning to the tops of blizzard-blasted summits is not for the faint of heart, but with a pair of powder skis underfoot and the Patagonia Triolet Pant on, you like your chances. This thin three-layer shell boasts Gore-Tex's ever-reliable waterproof, breathable membrane, and fully taped seams double down on waterproof protection by preventing a single snowflake from seeping through.

Most ski shells boast the protection required for slaying the hills on or off piste, but what makes the Triolet backcountry-specific is full-length side zippers. These zippers offer easy on and off and they double as ventilators for hot and strenuous skin tracks. Whether you're on the skin track or enjoying your hard earned turns, the pant's articulated cut includes gussets at the knees and crotch for unimpeded mobility. Finally, the boot gaiters feature a unique double-cuff design for extra coverage on those snowy trails.

  • Versatile performance shell pant for your snowy alpine pursuits
  • Gore-Tex blocks moisture on powder days and while ice climbing
  • Rugged polyester face withstands the rigors of the mountain
  • Articulated pattern, gusseted crotch offer mobility under a harness
  • Full-length side zippers enable ventilation on the skin track
  • Durable scuff guard protects pants against crampon and ski abrasion
  • Internal gaiter seals out snow to help keep you dry and comfortable
  • Patagonia designs long-lasting products for your outdoor adventures
  • Item #PAT031N

Huge- super long in the leg, too high of rise in the crotch, and way too large of a waist. I'm 5'2" and 125- normally a small in Patagonia. I ordered a small and am returning it. Bummer, and way larger than the Flylow, Mountain Hardware, ect comparisons.

Fabulous Shell Ski Pants

I was skeptical at first about shell ski pants but I decided to give this one a shot. I tried it because of several of its functionalities, such as side zippers and the 3-layers Gore-Tex. I had it on during a snow day; the waterproofness is excellent as it keeps me dry from the wet snowed in lift chair. In a 10 degree Fahrenheit cold ski day, I had an insulator pants (I used Spyder Glyssade insulator pants), and I was surprised with how warm these combinations kept me. At first, the materials seem stiff, but after wearing it a dozen times, it gets softer and easier to move around with. I am wearing the XXS; for a 5’ and 115lbs petite person, this pants fits perfectly in size and length, as well as it looks so flattering. I am very pleased with overall functionality and performance of this ski pants. I would definitely recommend it.

Gave these pants a try as I wanted a durable, waterproof shell with side zippers (this way I could use them on the mountain, or zip them over my jeans for winter bike commuting). I'm very happy with how sturdy these pants are! They strap over boots just fine, stopping any snow from getting in while post hole-ing. Also fit well over jeans, but where a little roomy over a thin base layer. Overall, awesome simple pant.

Awesome pants

I love patagonia clothing. I have pants, fleeces, jackets, etc that are 15+ years old and still work great. I got these pants because I needed a pair of ski pants (I usually wear bibs). These are amazing and I can tell after just one season that they are going to last a long time. The fabric is comfortable, I love the long, full zips on the pants for easy access to my under layer and aiding in taking them off. The inner gaiter fits well around my ski boots and I don't have to open it up. The reinforced knees and butt area is great and won't wear down your most used areas. My only gripe is the front pocket zippers. I wish they zipped towards the outer thighs and not inward. I have to hold the end of the pocket with one hand and then pull the zipper with the other to close. I feel like if they zipped the other way, I could just do it with one hand.
