    For winter and beyond.

A lot of jackets claim to be all-season, but few deliver like Patagonia’s Tres Down 3-In-1 Women’s Parka. Ideal for a cold and wet winter, the Tres delivers unrivaled protection against harsh winter conditions. When the cold winds blow and bring the snow with them, a fully sealed H2No shell keeps the barrage of elements at bay. Recycled 700-fill down insulation sits just below, providing steady warmth as temperatures plummet.

When the cold weather leaves, the Tres stays put. Its waterproof shell zips out of the down liner, giving you a trusted raincoat for April showers and beyond. When the leaves start to fall and chilly breezes return, the insulated liner functions as a stand-alone down jacket. The outer shell pairs with a detachable hood to create an added element of versatility.

    • Patagonia’s ultimate do it-all parka for winter and beyond
    • H2No shell gives you trusted waterproofing all year round
    • Removable 700-fill down liner provides low-weight warmth
    • Detachable hood offers added level of versatility
    • Parka length ensures full-body protection from the elements
    • Hand pockets on both outer shell and inner liner
    • Slim fit guarantees warmth without need for bulky layers

    Great fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Xs
    • Height: 5'1"
    • Weight: 115lbs

Was scared the fit would be wrong since I'm only 5'1, but the xs fits perfectly (sleeves might be ~1/2-1 in long, but personally I like my jackets covering a little bit of my hand). It hits me about mid thigh, and is just what I was looking for. It's fitted around the chest, so if you need to layer with thicker sweaters, it might be a little tight.

    Flattering and warm!

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Xs
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 125lbs

This coat is awesome. Definitely worth the money. I was hesitant about sizing and actually went against what the size chart recommended and I was right! I got the XS. I am 5’5 125 lbs, size 27 in jeans and 34C. It fits me perfectly while having a flattering, femine fit AND keeping me insulated/protected from wind and cold. I couldn’t be happier. Thank you!!

    Versatile

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

This is one of the most versatile casual use pieces offered from Patagonia. You can use this as your Winter jacket all the way through Summer as your go to rain coat. My wife absolutely loves this jacket.

Not adequate for truly cold weather

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I live in upstate NY where the temperature now is around 9F and windy. I had really high hopes for this jacket, but when it came I was surprised how thin it was for the price/specs. The wind came through it, and I was cold. This might be better for a more temperate climate, like DC or SF, but I wouldn't buy it if you live somewhere truly icy.

    Love it, get it, now

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 118lbs

I always wanted a rain coat that was also warm- finally found it! I have gotten so many compliments on this coat. The XS fits true to size as I am 5’2 and weight 118lbs. I love my Patagonia raincoat!!!

    Nice coat with some flaws

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I really wanted this jacket to work, but I couldn't justify spending this amount of money on something I wasn't in love with.

    Pros:
Fitted, nice silhouette to the liner down jacket and when wearing as a combination jacket
    Waterproof/windproof shell
    Moderately warm
    Perfect length
    Detachable hood
    Lined pockets

    Cons:
I was very conscious of the fact that I was wearing two layers that did not seem to meld into one coat for a seamless fit (the sleeves on the down layer bunched up or stuck out of the liner, despite the inside loops/the collar on the down layer didn't tuck into the collar on the shell)
The shell is baggy on it's own
The front placket is very wide and needs to be buttoned to lay flat
The buttoned flaps on the pockets are not ideal; they created a weird line to the jacket that you wouldn't get with a zippered pocket
If you want to zipper the jacket without using the face protector, the super-rigid stand-up collar just kind of hovers around your chin awkwardly

I bought this with the intent of using it as a full-on Northeast winter jacket, with the added benefit of having a great raincoat for the spring and fall. In the end, it wasn't warm enough for me (granted, I'm always cold) and I couldn't imagine wearing the shell on it's own.

    Good, not perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 124lbs

I've had this coat for about a week now, and I've worn it everyday, in downpours, in misty rain, and in sunshine, in temperatures between 43-50 F. As a waterproof coat, it functions well, and I have not been cold. I purchased this coat to replace a discontinued Patagonia parka that was down insulated without a separate layer, and that is what I really wanted again, but it appears they no longer offer a coat like that. So I finally settled and purchased this. I do not ever anticipate removing the down layer (I'm a cold person, and when it's rainy here in Portland, it's cold enough for me to pull this on). So it bugs me that when I put my arms in the sleeves, almost every single time, I have to adjust the cuffs so the liner coat is tucked up in the outer sleeve (it is only attached by a snap loop). Same for hanging it on a hook. I have to use the inner liner loop, and the coat flops around messily, and there is only one attachment point at the collar of the coat for the liner. There is a toggle on the back of the hood I find uncomfortable. When I have the coat zipped fully, I find I need to either smooth the flaps together or actually fasten the snaps to get them to be flat. It's just a little fussier than I would have liked. I am a 2-4 (34A) and ordered the small, and I find the fit to be just right, maybe a tiny bit tight in the arms with a thick fleece underneath.

    Nice coat

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I bought the coat not knowing what to expect, but to my pleasant surprise it satisfied all my needs (warm but not bulky, water resistant yet breathable)

    Perfect for Seattle winter

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XS
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 105lbs

A very well designed coat for damp, cold, windy weather. If I could take a half star off, I would because the outer zipper is sometimes sticky and it's actually not as warm as I was expecting. That said, I love this versatile and attractive coat. I got Nouveau Green and the color is pretty but subtle, and a nice change from my closet full of black, grey and brown. The outer shell does a great job of keeping out wind and rain, and the fabric has some stretch making it comfortable to wear running errands, taking walks, and getting kids in and out of car seats constantly. The hood has good coverage without cutting off too much visibility or catching the wind. Warm enough for standing outside in the playground (LOVE the hand-warmer pockets) but breatheabe enough for brisk hiking . On really frigid windy days you will want a thick warm sweater under this coat In order to stay cozy. Finally, the coat looks great in all three combinations of the layers. I get compliments on the cut and color every time I wear it, and I'm delighted I'll be able to wear this in s wide range of temperatures, weather conditions and seasons. Great investment for a wet and volatile climate.

    Love!

I'm love this parka!! It fits just right and is very warm! I would definitely suggest this coat to anyone who needs a warm coat for the cold winters!

    Perfect for any occasion!

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Large

Got this as a gift for my mom and she loves it! The jacket is very flattering on her. The cut is fitted so it's flattering to the body. If the combo of the insulation layer and the shell is too much/too hot, she can just remove that insulation layer to adjust for any kind of weather. She normally wears a size medium, and although the shell fit perfectly, the insulation layer on it's own was too tight across her chest (she has a large chest) so she had to size up.

    Weatherproof and Stylish

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large

I truly love how this coat gives me options. You can't beat the 3-in-1 versatility matched with Patagonia quality. I found the inner down jacket and outer layer to be of higher quality than similar options from other brands. The long parka length is a major bonus as well and keeps it from looking too bulky vs a hip length coat. This took me through trips through whipping winter gales in Iceland, cold rain in London, bitter New York cold, and winter in VA--a lot of different weather and it aced all of it in various combinations.

I think the jacket is true to size as a slim fitting item. I have a different, puffier slim fit Patagonia jacket in a M and it gets tight in the pits with a sweater. I bought this in a L and it is nicely roomy with a sweater without being overly big, although the sleeves are a bit too long. For length, it is just above the knee and I am 5'3".

    Incredible

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

love the sleekness of this jacket. The lines are flattering and perfectly positioned. I love that you are able to take out the liner and have three different coats.

    Worth every penny

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 138lbs

This seemed like the perfect design but I was hesitant on the cost and sizing. When I got the coat it was a little tight and I was concerned about spending that much on a coat.So I kept the tag on and wore it out for a test walk. First, I was so warm and second I got tons of compliments on the look of the coat. That coat was mine! I even wear it to work over professional clothes on very cold days. I'm a curvy size 8 and medium was a little tight in he middle but I was already on a weight loss plan and after dropping 10 pounds, there is plenty of room for a big sweater under the coat.

    warm, versatile and stylish

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: med
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 135lbs

got this 2 weeks ago and have worn it ~10 times in weather as cold as 15deg F with a cold wind (upstate NY). I love it! Keeps me feeling cozy and deflects the wind well. I ordered a Canada Goose at the same time but am sending it back. It probably is a little warmer, but I think it would be too warm for the lighter winter days. This one is perfect - Love the flexibility of being able to take off a layer if it warms up. And it's also the most stylish winter coat I've had yet - way more flattering than the pictures would suggest. Unless you are someone who is always freezing and needs polar-strength coats with even a light winter, I highly recommend this coat.

    Wrong Shape for Wifey

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 120lbs

I purchased this jacket for my wife, who professes to have some trouble with thermoregulation, and is constantly cold in the winter time. The 3-in-1 concept and design of this jacket are spot on, and it looked good as a parka and as a down jacket. However, my wife has broad shoulders and narrow hips, and size small was boxy on her. As other reviewers have mentioned, the extra room would be good for layering, and provides better mobility. For reference, my wife usually wears a women's medium in Patagonia jackets, but the small in this jacket fit well in the arms and shoulders, and was wide in the hips..

The Patagonia Tres 3-in-1 Jacket almost made the cut to be my wife's winter jacket. In the end, we decided to go with the Canada Goose Victoria Down Jacket for its added warmth. A winter jacket is an investment, and a warm wife in the winter time is worth every penny.

    Great coat, size up

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 144lbs

I loved the style and look of this coat, it's very warm and nicely water and wind repelling as well. I purchased the medium size, but being slim fit, it still was a little tight in the shoulders, even with a thin shirt on. I knew if I wanted to wear a sweater, the fit would be even tighter. I returned the medium and purchased the large, which fits really nicely, lots of room, just the sleeves are a touch long. Love this coat, will be great for winter/spring/fall!
