Ta-ta torrential downpour.
Being an 11 year old girl is tough enough on its own—which is why we (and your parents) understand that you really don't need the added insult of showing up to the first day of school completely soaked from head to toe. To prevent "The Worst Day Ever" from happening, the folks over at Patagonia crafted up the Girl's Torrentshell Jacket. Built with a rugged, waterproof, and stylish H2No nylon fabric, this full-zip jacket is equipped with a three-panel hood that comes complete with an elastic adjuster while the drop tail, drawcord hem and hook-and-loop cuffs ensure no sneaky winds or precipitation can weasel their way through to your "First Day of School" outfit.

My daughter love it so much! and wears it everyday. While the size is just a little small.
Cute kid's jacket
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
I bought this for my cousin for her birthday - she's 10 and average size for her age. I'm told it fits her perfectly.
This jacket is nice and lightweight, so perfect for spring rainstorms (it's definitely more for protection from the rain and wind, rather than the cold).
I absolutely love the color combination - the coral and darker pink work really well together and the turquoise zipper is a nice little color pop.
A fun jacket for girls...........I'd wear it if they made one big enough!
Montana Thunderstorms? No problem!
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit: True to size
We spent four days camping in the mountains of Montana and every afternoon after lunch the rainstorms rolled in. My kids aren't big fans of sitting in the tent to wait it out, so they threw on their Torrentshell jackets and carried on exploring as if it were a sunny day. The water just rolls right off these jackets--literally hours of rain and they stayed dry. The hoods are nice and big and fit over a beanie, and these roll up really small to fit in a pack. Great jacket!
