Why We Like The Topley Down Jacket

The Patagonia Topley Down Jacket is great for commuting to work and nights out with friends. It delivers the same waterproofing as most of Patagonia's ski jackets, and the insulation is plenty warm for cold fall, spring, and winter weather. We also appreciate Patagonia's sustainable construction. The face fabric is completed recycled, as is the lofty down inside.

Great Jacket

I've used it several times

Great jacket and for the price you get a solid down jacket, and waterproof not water resistant. I had arcteryx before, that lasted me for about 10 years, was a great jacket, however it wasn?t waterproof. And the one I wanted from arcteryx was $1000 vs this for $300-400 I?m hoping this jacket lasts just as long or longer since I don?t typically like to purchase many jackets for wearing it only 3-4 months out of a year. I live in Virginia so it doesn?t get terribly cold here, next week the nights will be 15-20F. , not sure how this jacket would fair in far north like Maine or Michigan, but the size fits enough to wear a light hoody under it and not be too constricting. Would definitely purchase again.

I am warm with only a tee shirt down to 20 degrees. My only gripe is that all the pockets are on the outside of the down so my phone gets cold and dies. Other than that this is an incredible jacket. I only use it for casual use but it?s very breathable and waterproof. Have had it three years now and still looks brand new.

Looks nice, a little short

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I typically fit fine into Pagatonia's technical outdoor clothing fine, but this lifestyle jacket runs shorter than their technical stuff. I'm 6'6", 200 lbs and typically wear a L, and this L fit my shoulders fine, but the length was too short for me, both on sleeves and body. I had hoped that, being a hip-length jacket, it'd work for me. I like the style of the jacket, and the fact that the hood is insulated and detachable for urban wear. I will note that the down insulation isn't super thick. Depending on your needs, layers, and how warm you run, it'd probably be fine for above 25 or 30 degrees, but I was hoping for something a little warmer based on the description.
