    Go long.

The Patagonia Women's Strider Pro Running Shorts have all the features you need to propel you to success on your next high-mileage trail adventure. The outer fabric is treated with a DWR finish that allows it to dry quickly and shed moisture as you run. The mesh liner is not only cooling, but it also features a Polygiene anti-odor treatment to keep you fresh. Since nobody wants to bonk out midway through a run, Patagonia bumped up the pocket count to seven to store gels, snacks, and anything else you might need throughout your journey. A high split-leg opening allows for ease of movement, and a reflective logo lets you be seen when your run takes you out to a more populated area.

    • Performance-focused shorts for long trail adventures
    • Moisture-wicking, fast-drying, and DWR-treated fabric
    • Cooling mesh liner with Polygiene odor control
    • Seven pockets to stash gels and other running essentials
    • Semi-fitted cut with split-leg opening for ease of movement
    • Reflective logo and front and back promote visibility

    Super Cute

Got these in the pink/orange color and they are so cute! Have taken them running, hiking, river tubing, and beach lounging. They've been great on all of my outings. No bunching or riding up and the pockets are awesome.

I am a devoted fan of Patagonia's Strider short, but decided to give the Strider Pro a chance. I'm very happy with them! The fit is a little baggier than what I am used to, but the pockets more than make up for that. I can stash my phone and keys without feeling like I'm going to lose anything. The colors are great as well.

    awesome shorts

These are perfect running shorts. I bought these because I have a marathon coming up and I wanted legit running shorts and these are what I was hoping for! The pockets are so great, especially if you run long distances and like to carry GU or something. They are very lightweight and they just have amazing quality. I also wore them for a workout at the gym and they are great for that as well. Just go for it.

    For the lady

I got these for my wife, I was debating on size, and glad I went XS. They run a touch bigger than other brand running shorts, just a touch.
These look great on her, short enough to be great running shorts, but long enough to stay decent in public. Very accentuating and flattering. Highly recommend.

    Almost perfect

Light-as-air, soft, very stretchy, pockets are awesome! Only problem ... built-in panty has NO elastic. Must be designed for folks with flat backsides? I have a big ole booty! The liner crawled so badly, I got a huge blister in my a--crack!! I took a pair of scissors and chopped the liner out. I wear them with boy-shorts-style panties. Problem solved. Now they're awesome shorts. For $65, however, they ought to be awesome without having to chop them up!

    Great Patagonia Running Shorts!

Light weight and comfortable are what Im hearing so far. She's used it on a few short runs so far and really enjoys these shorts

I really like these running shorts because of the space the pockets have. I can fit my iphone in the side pocket no problem, along with a key and whatever else I want to take on my run. I also really like the fit on these shorts because they don't move around much.

and I do too. She uses my account to get her gear and this is what she had to say:

I love these, they provide a lot of range when i go out running, and they're comfortable and look great.

    Patagonia Strider Pro Running Short

I bought these as a gift for a good friend, and she told me that they're one of the nicest pairs of running shorts she's ever had. She said the quality was great, the fit was good and she generally loves the Patagonia brand and what it stands for, so she was really happy with the gift.

    Surprisingly Stupendous.

I love me a comfortable pair of running shorts, and throughout the years I've amassed quite a few pairs of Patagonia's running shorts. They've definitely struggled with the fit in the past (too much fabric in the front pelvic area which leads to bunching and chafing, or heavy zippers on pockets that weigh you down), but in the past 2 - 3 years they've made some awesome advancements and the Strider series is evidence as such.

So, admittedly, I was a shade skeptical when I saw the new Strider Pro make its debut on the website: I wasn't super enticed by the shorter inseam or the new pocket configuration. I've been singing the praises of the 2015 edition and pretty much live in them once warmer temps come 'round, so I was a bit bummed about the new updates mostly because I love the old design so much.

However, if there's anything I should glean from Patagonia's most recent batch of products, it's that change IS a good thing. That being said, these changes, ooh they good, baby! I'm surprisingly impressed despite my original, stodgy impressions.

SLC had a brief bout of spring-ish weather, which I figured would be a smart time to give these the Good Ole College Try. I run a mixture of road and trails, though I much prefer trails and largely rely on road for training / when I'm in a time-crunch. So, I figured I could get a solid "Initial Impressions" feel if I took them on a 5-mile road cruise. I paired them with a lightweight merino wool shirt and a nano air vest and was extremely comfortable. The shorts have a very barely-there feeling and were a treat to run in.

That being said, these are my Initial Impressions Thus Far:

    1. I'm really, really digging the waist band! It has the reinforced elastic on the interior, much like Patagonia's baselayers do, so the short sits higher up on your natural waist rather than being super low-slung.
    2. The fabric is pretty much the same, if anything it might be a shade more lightweight and therefore more quick-drying. We'll see how this performance actually pans out come hotter weather since 54 degrees isn't exactly, well, soggy bottom sweat inducing.
    3. The pocket configuration is aacccuuuttually pretty nifty, albeit I didn't use all the pockets, which I rarely do in my elder Strider Pro shorts either (I dig me a solid hydration / snack holster vest).
    4. The inseam isn't all that different than the originals, however it still is a pretty short inseam so that's something to keep in mind when ordering this short.
    5. The built-in liner seems to fit differently and more comfortably. I'm not sure what exactly it is, but it's better. Certainly won't complain about an updated built-in liner, that's for dang sure.

    Fit Impressions:
I waffle between a Small and XS in Patagonia's fit. However, I'm noticing as of late I'm more of a "true fit" XS, but can wear a Small if I want the product in question to have a more "relaxed" fit. I have a small in the OG Pro Strider and they fit perfectly, so I picked up a Small. The Small is definitely a relaxed fit on me, but a comfortable one for sure. The waist band has an adjustable tie, so I'm able to cinch the shorts down comfortably. I'm not sure I would want the XS simply because I don't like my running shorts to feel super snug in the hips, especially when they're supposed to be light and airy. That being said, excess fabric can do some damage while running, but I'd venture to say that the relaxed fit on this short won't chafe or cause hot spots. I'll update the review once hotter weather comes around, for sure.

All in all, I'm surprised at how stupendous the updates actually were. I'm really, really looking forward to taking these out for a longer rabble-rouse come warmer weather.
