R1 TechFace Fleece Pullover

With the R1 TechFace Fleece Pullover, Patagonia took the tried and true performance of its classic R1 Pullover and threw on a durable outer face for added versatility and weather resistance. The result is an always-dependable outdoor piece that works as both a midlayer and a stand-alone piece on cooler fall and spring days. The inner fleece lining boasts the same stretch and breathability as the classic R1, but now features a water-resistant outer shell that'll also help resist abrasion on multi-pitch climbs and rocky summit scrambles. Thumbhole loops help keep your sleeves in place during activity, and make layering easier when you want to throw a shell on over your fleece during more extreme weather. You've got a deep chest pocket for efficient ventilation when you're really working up a sweat, and a single chest pocket that doubles as a tuck-away stuff sack when the chill of your early-morning start wears off and warm temperatures abound.

Wearing It More And More

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Size Bought:
XL

I received this as a gift = source unknown. At first, I did not like the "stiff" feeling outer fabric treatment; but after about 6 washings, it's softened up and now I like the feel. It's a surprisingly versatile top, not too hot and not too cold; seems to mirror your body temperature versus the outside temperature. I wear it indoors a lot and could see wearing it while travelling. At first i thought the arms were a little snug, but they've loosened up with wear. Wore it climbing Looking Glass Rock in Moab, where there are robust crosswinds, and it performed perfectly.

Tech face satisfaction

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Size Bought:
Large
Weight:
170

I?m 6?0?, 170 lbs and the large fits great (medium too tight on the arms. Actually has more wind/water protection than I expected. Very comfortable, perfect for a 50 degree fall day, or colder if you?re exerting energy, I?d probably wear it down to 30 degrees. Versatile piece to layer on top if needed, not too warm you can?t wear it around the house. Works great for golfing too!

Used it for my Camino de Santiago, 16 straight days, super breathable, nice DWR and weather resistant. I totally recommend this item.
