    Tough and lightweight.

Not even the coldest days of the year bring down your stoke level on the slopes when you wear the Patagonia Women's Primo Down Jacket. Updated this season with a new fabric, and backed by a Gore-Tex membrane, this jacket provides waterproof, windproof, and breathable protection from winter's nastiest weather. The traceable down insulation keeps you nice and toasty in weather that chills even the abominable snowman.

In addition to a whole new fabric package, the Primo features refined design lines and an adjustable, removable powder skirt. An articulated fit gives you freedom to move when you're skiing through tight trees or carving giant slalom turns on the groomers. The powder skirt can be cinched for a tight seal on deep days, and lies flat when not in use. Underarm zippers provide easy ventilation to prevent overheating. Its hood slides over your helmet with ease and adjusts for a secure fit. Patagonia topped this jacket off with a concealed Recco reflector to aid rescue teams in the event of an emergency.

    Long, no double zipper

    • Size Bought: xl
    • Height: 5'2"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Runs comfortably large. I wanted extra room for a couple of under layers for function on those single digit/minus days. It's a longer that most (compare North Face), so if you're short like me, with has no double zipper it may be bit uncomfortable on the lift. Also, the zipper is hard to pull up in at times - not catching fabric, just difficult. Love the weight and goretex; good pockets configuration; red is nice & the typical Patagonia shade. Since I bought a size up, it's a bit puffy & boxy (as in photo of red jacket) and the sleeves are too long but I expect to be comfortable and 'still out there' when others have retreated. .

    Great for Skiing and Town

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Living in Hawaii and planning to ski and snow shoe hiking in Hokkaido, Japan, I was looking for a super warm and comfortable ski jacket. I purchased Patagonia Primo Down Jacket after reading several reviews and hoped that the jacket will protect me from the temperature drop of 60 degree (80 deg in Hawaii to 20 deg in Hokkaido!). This jacket was awesome on the ski slope, snowy mountain, and in Downtown Sapporo. I never felt cold or over heated during the activities, and fashionable enough to wear in town as well. 2 thumbs up!

This jacket is awesome! It is a Gore-tex shell, with a down insulation. That insures that you will stay dry in any weather, and warm. Down is the best insulator out there, and this jacket has really high quality down coming in at an 800 fill. If you want to stay warm skiing, snowboarding, or walking around town, this is the jacket for you. It's awesome!
