Moving from standard ski pants to bibs has been my favorite upgrade of this ski season. Bibs eliminate that pinched feeling at the waist and allow folks to get the correct length and thigh/glute size. The straps will keep them up at the waist and are much more comfortable on the mountain. I use these for resort days. There is no insulation so they will feel a bit chilly for the first chair ride. Really cold day might call for an insulated knicker underneath, but in temps 20-30, I have been good with a baselayer. Zippers are durable and watertight to keep any items dry, even after a spill. The high back will keep you plenty dry and avoid the backside gaper gap. Really stoked on these and wishing i had swapped to bibs sooner!

    Horrible design. Not functional bibs.

I love the patagonia pow slayer pants. My pair from 5 years ago was just getting a bit small so I wanted to get a larger pair. This new design is not at all like the old design. Because of the location of where the straps are in the front, and if you have any sort of breast, the straps are pushed out to the sides. Looking at the image on the product page you can even see it. The straps being pushed out means the straps ride under the armpit. If the design was better the placement of where the front of the straps were sewn in should be closer to the center of the waist and not so far out. Because the straps are so far out, and rubbing under the armpit, you wouldn't want to use the straps as actually functioning to keeping your pants up. They are more of this annoying style then functional. Patagonia needs to go back to the original design that was full-chested bibs you could trust keeping your pants up. Do not waste $800 on these. They are not functional bibs they are pants with weird straps attached. I will keep wearing my old pow slayer bibs from years ago until Patagonia brings back the old design.

    Patagonia Pow Slayer Bib

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Love these bibs. I was kind of in between a medium & large and sized up to have extra room for layering and a baggier fit. I've worn them resort skiing & touring, and they are great for both.
Some things I love about them:
    - They have pockets with fully sealed seams that will keep your stuff totally dry.
-The bib doesn't come up too high, it sits a few inches above your belly button - so it keeps the snow out, but I don't get as hot in them as I do in my Burton Bibs that c.ome up over my chest.
    - They are baggy enough to wear multiple layers underneath (why I sized up). I was able to comfortably fit a base layer and the Patagonia Nano Air underneath them with plenty of room.
    - The Color!!!!!! I love the smoulder blue, it's very subtle and matches most of the jackets I have in my closet.

    Awesome Bib

I actually ended up returning this bib b/c the color just didn't work well with my kit but they fit great and have great movement. The suspender provides easy on/off access and the waistline hits high enough that it provides a slimming look but functionally would keep the snow out. If the color worked I totally would have kept them.

    I can pee in bibs!!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 155lbs

I can't say enough about how much I love these bibs.
-no restrictive waist so no uncomfortable chair rides because you gained some summer or holiday pounds or popping buttons
-all your base layers stay nicely tucked in and no cold drafts
-powder/sleet/ice will not find a way to your but crack (no powder skirt needed)
    -suspenders are cool
-and..... most important of all, you do not need to strip down to remove the bibs to pee!!! These are actually easier to "pull down" and expose much less skin to the elements then any standard pant squatting to pee scenario.

Other great features are the waterproofing enough to flail around in the wet snow and repel beer, look great on, fit over ski boots easily (and over my boot heater batteries), room for multiple base layers, great pocket set up (phone and small sunscreen fit in side leg pocket and waist pockets for $$/keys), belt loops for i don't know why other then holding my pass, and super durable.

I found the alpine version of these used and bought them too because I love the style so much. Though bulkier than the alpine version, the powslayers can still be packed down pretty easily, though they do not have full zips on the sides. If you're looking for a slimmer fit and packability (and don't need wide legs to cover ski boots) then I'd suggest the alpine version over these.

    Killer pant for ladies!

First, the name. Who does not want some pow slaying action in their life? This is my first pair of bibs, and I'm never going back. The fit is on point. Not too baggy, not too slim, and not too much material going up my back or chest to keep me cooler while skinning. They are very breathable and lightweight, but burly enough to stand up to trees or whatever I run into. They are also way less crunchy than seasons prior (win!). Perhaps the BEST feature on these bad boys is the drop seat. I think I can pee easier wearing these than regular snow pants (double win!). I have electron blue, and it is beautiful!

    Great shell bib

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Height: 5'4"

My wife and I purchased these for my mother-in-law for the holidays and she has been pleased with their fit and performance. These bibs are absolutely warmer than a traditional pant. She typically wears a size 6 and purchased a small. Fits great with room to layer underneath and the length is also spot on (she's 5'5").

    My first pair of bibs.

My first pair of bibs, and I wish I had converted sooner - I warmer and more comfortable. Patagonia really nailed it with the Powslayer's.

      FIT
I've always loathed trying on ski pants, it's like trying on jeans, too tight in all the wrong places, too loose in other spots, but I was surprised to find that the fit here is spot on, maybe a touch roomy. I purchased a Medium, I'm 5' 8" 150lbs, wear an 8/10 in most pants, bigger in the hips, narrow, high waist. These have plenty of room around the hips and thighs, are tailored to be feminine around the waist, but roomy enough for a couple of layers.

      FEATURES
Oh the ease of getting your pants down when you have to go. The two snaps on either side are super easy to undo with gloves and the panel unzips with ease. The side zips work in either direction to allow back of the knee venting. Pockets on the legs are wide enough for a big phone or trail map, and pockets at the waist are perfect for a pass or cash. The bib straps are Velcro, so very adjustable, and the circumstance at the bottom of the pant leg is wide enough for a snowboard boot.

      LAYERING
Been out and about in these on storm days, sunny days, touring up hill, and riding lifts. Thus far, STOKED. Note that these are single layer pants, on really cold days your going to want a thicker layer underneath. I've been using Arc'teryx Phase SV bottoms for most days, planning to find something thicker for low temps and to keep the bum warm are chilly lifts.

      Killer Bib!

Got these as a gift for my fiancee. She runs a little cold, so the bib provides a little extra protection from the elements. At the same time, the design allows for easy ventilation when earning those turns. You cannot go wrong with the Powslayer Bib!

Finally a great bib for women!

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size

I am 5'7" and weigh 138 pounds and I tried a size Medium. I have an athletic build (large thighs) and ski aggressively. I often buy men's pants because they are better made and have room for my legs to work. I really want a great pair of bibs so I ordered 4 to try. I love this pair. It's the keeper. I wish it had zips at the ankle and worry about getting the gater over my ski boot but everything else is amazing. They have enough room to wear some layers and still move around. The way the suspenders are done is genius. So secure, no slipping off the shoulder and annoying you. Multiple ways to get into them. The fly front doesn't leave quite enough room for my big booty so I like to use the side zip. The fit up top where I'm smaller is great, with enough room to be comfortable. I even think they funky shape is really flattering. There is some seriously thoughtful pattern work in these bibs. The pockets are great. Love love love them and can't wait to ski in them. Only complaint is no vents and no zips on the legs at the ankle even though the description says full length side zippers but I'll get over it!
