PowSlayer Bib Pant
On the pillows of every skier's bed lie endless dreams of chest-deep powder, pristine ridgelines, cornices to drop off of into open bowls of white, and billowy branches of pine that slowly turn into snow ghosts. But then the alarm rings with the unkindness of a flock of ravens, reminding you that you'll need to earn those dreams with a long skin up the mountain to access those dream-worthy lines. The Patagonia Men's Powslayer Bib Pants are there for you when the 5 a.m. bell sends you to the nearest trailhead, coffee still in hand, to send it into the backcountry with a durable, waterproof, and breathable shell that can withstand stray branches on the skintrack and grueling bushwhacks.
Built with a fully recycled face fabric and 3-layer Gore-Tex membrane, the Powslayer pants are ideal for skinning one peak after another, shedding moisture like it's going out of style, and pulling moisture away from your skin to remain warm and dry inside. Since these bibs are just a shell, they'll be happy to offer you the lightweight weather-breaking relief you need when you're exerting yourself on warmer days, but if you layer up underneath, you'll be rewarded with all day warmth.

Great Bib for skiing
I'm 6'9" and have a hard time finding clothes that fit. I have an '06 Arcteryx Theta SV bib (L Tall) that is sturdy, but always been too short. I called Patagonia and they said there were several models that they could lengthen, the Powslayer being one of them. After Backcountry shipped my bib, I mailed it to P-G, who added 4" length. This bib fits me well and is just as waterproof as the Arcteryx. This past season I put a hole in under the knee, probably after colliding with a root, but I mailed my bib back to Patagonia, who expertly repaired them. I've had this bib for 3 ski seasons and LOVE it! I telemark and often take off my skis and hike. No ski touring, though...

Didn't work for me
I wanted to like these -- 3L, light, 100% recycled. Green color is terrific, the ripstop pattern is great and far better than a plain weave. The cut of the legs is not too bulky nor tight; not too bell bottom-y. Material is very, very light and only moderately crinkly noise for 3L Gore-Tex pro. Legs are on the long side for a medium (about 33 inseam), in a good way. However, the fit wasn't right. The backside / back of thighs looked like a baby diaper unless seated -- just too much material. Also, the top of the back bunched up so that there was an opening of 2 inches off the lower back, which defeats the purpose of a bib. Second big issue: The zippers (other than the fly) are coarse (large teeth) and frankly they are terrible. They close with difficulty, even the leg pockets. I had the same zippers on some Marmot 3L bibs, and if the teeth are under any pressure, they won't zip. Finally, I agree with other comments about pocket location -- no one wants anything significant right on top of the thighs, where these pockets are located. I have Arcteryx pants with the same location, and it is endlessly annoying even inbounds. If they sold these in pants I might buy them, but the powslayer pants (vs these bibs) have different face material (non ripstop), seem significantly heavier, and the colors for pants are not great (blue, grey, orange). Returned.

Pretty much what everyone else is saying - fit is great; they are light; easy to dump extra heat; and waterproof. Bibs are awesome for touring, particularly when you are digging pits, or making your way up a steep couloir - keeps the snow out! Pretty durable (80+ days in them so far and no issues). Patagonia pretty much rocked this one.

Nice set of bibs
Perfect for all day adventures in the snow. Good venting options. Water proof enough to ski in the sleet.

Ready for Snow!
I bought these for my husband - he's 5'9 and 165 lbs. and the small fits great. The bibs make it easy to adjust for length and fit and they are nice and light for hiking, snowshoeing and snowboarding. Now we just need the snow :)

These bibs are great, in and out of the resort. Super light, so you barely notice them while hiking, but extremely durable and weatherproof when it counts. If you heat up on the hike, the vents are more than adequate to dump heat. The suspenders are highly adjustable for a customizable fit and they stay put. I love skiing in these.

These fit great, run true to size! They are lightweight and keep you very dry. But what makes this bib better than the rest??? I like the removable suspenders and the drop seat ability to allow for quick relief in the woods when you need to go! the 3 layer gore tex fabric will keep you dry while allowing your body to breathe. This is a great bib for skiing!
