    Have 2 pairs--love them

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I have a blue and a purple pair of these tights and would definitely not hesitate to add another pair. These are so versatile. Good quality, thick but breathable and can take a beating. I have a labrador retriever who jumps and nips occasionally and he's caused a bunch of damage to my other clothes, but these tights you can't even tell. My favorite feature of these tights are the side pockets where I can stick my iphone and keys and it doesn't look or feel weird. Also, came out of the wash and dry cycle with no issues.

    Too big/too small

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Fit:True to size
    Size BoughtM + L
    Height5` 4"
    Weight168 lbs

Tried both a medium and large in these. The waist seems oddly loose and does not have an elastic. Mediums fit comfortably but are too low waisted with nothing to keep them in place. Larges have a better rise but felt too loose overall. Fabric and design is otherwise great and feels very comfortable but I’m sending them back.

    Small! Great fabric.

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Fit:Runs small
    Size BoughtMedium
    Height5` 4"
    Weight168 lbs

I’m generally between Med and Large bottoms. I just tried both the Pack Out and the Peak Mission tights by Patagonia. The Pack Out tights were too small and felt very low waisted with no drawstring to ensure that they stay put. I would be wary of them sliding down and constant tugging. The Peak Mission were perfect as a Medium, higher-waisted, and more stretchy. Kept those and exchanging the Pack Out for a large! The fabric on these is thick and comfortable, but overall the cut feels way to small. Although I haven’t worn them out, they seem like they would actually be warmer than the Peak Mission. I’m 5’4” and 168 lb.

    Perfect for me!

Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    Fit:True to size

Just received these yesterday, put them on this morning, and wow! Perfect! So very soft and comfortable. Not restrictive in any way. I have to agree that the calf area is a bit loose - but not so much so that it looks bad. Love the pockets - love everything about these pants. I think I need at least one more color!

Just bought my second pair in a different color, love ‘em that much! However, the sizing seems different, smaller. Returned them.

    Great Winter Legging with Pockets!!!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:True to size
    Size BoughtXS
    Height5` 2"
    Weight115 lbs

I wanted a thicker legging to use in the winter months for cross country skiing, running, and hiking. Checked out Lululemon first, then came here after throwing up at the prices. These leggings are PERFECT and a way better value than other similar pants I've seen! Pockets are large enough for me to hold a cell phone and poop bags in one and a dog leash in the other. I also love the small zippered pocket for my keys. The fit is great (true to size, despite what some reviewers said) and the fabric is really nice and soft on the inside. I have used them in 20° to 50° weather and they are great for that range. I find myself wearing them more than I care to admit and will probably be stocking up on them because it would be hard to find another pant that rivals this one if they ever discontinue it!

Thanks for taking the time to write a review! So happy to hear you're loving these leggings and that they're working out so well!

Hey, did you wear these as a base layer in 20• or by themselves? I’m looking for leggings I can wear by themselves in this kind of temperature

@ymke I wore these by themselves and they were warm enough for me during moderate to heavy activity

    They’re Great!!! And comfy.

We are hiking the PCT this year, and I wanted a pair of tights that are comfortable, wouldn’t chafe, warm, and no camel toe. I’m always leery about buying clothes online because you can’t see/feel the fabric nor tell what the sizing is (size charts are often times horribly inaccurate). I did some research. Read a lot of reviews. I bit the bullet and bought these. SOOOOO glad I did. They are really soft inside. Much warmer than standard tights. Have a great shape to them. The side pockets are the bomb. I can carry my phone and my husbands easily. I ordered them in December and in the three weeks I’ve had them, I’ve worn them 4-5 days each week. We hike daily 5-15 miles. The pack out tights have never let me down. I’ve hiked in cold, rain, heat. I’ve never been uncomfortable. My husband wishes they made these for men. Highly recommend these tights.

    Betsy's Favorite Leggings

I recently ordered these for the lady in my life, here is her review: Patagonia Pack-Out Tights - 5-stars - Found my new favorite leggings! Very comfortable leggings with soft & stretchy fabric that is also quite warm. The fit is true to size (small fits me very well), I don't have any issue with the ankle area being loose as other reviews have mentioned. Love the side pockets that can actually fit phones, snacks, keys, etc.

    Nice and warm

I wear these running, they are pretty warm and I like all the pockets. If I had to order again I might of sized down. They are just almost too big. My only issue is I wish they had a drawstring, but they stay up well enough without it. They are pretty thick and overall are toasty for running in the cold. They feel very well made.

    Nice heavy weight hiking leggings

Familiarity:I returned this product before using it
    Fit:Runs large
    Size BoughtSmall
    Height5` 6"
    Weight130 lbs

Surprisingly, I had to size down to a small when I'm typically a medium in all Patagonia bottoms. Material is heavy weight and will be great for cooler weather, great fit, stay in place, pockets are well sized for a phone on the thigh. Ankles were also loose on the Medium but fit a little more snug on the small.

Good for activity or lounging. My only small beef is that the ankles are loose. But, that wouldn't stop me from buying them again.

Bought these for a trip to Colorado, specifically to hike ice lakes trail. The temperature ranged from the 30s to 70s and these leggings were perfect for it all. I was comfortable the entire time. These leggings survived a a few slides down rocky slopes and a lot of rubbing on branches with no snags. I would definitely recommend these...and they have pockets!!

I love leggings that have pockets built into them. These leggings are on the thicker side so they will be great for cold weather hikes.

I have worn these tights for running, hiking, skiing, and casual wear. They are perfect for any activity! The high waist makes for a comfortable fit that won't ride down while you are running. Flattering and comfy, the best combo!

The best hiking and climbing pants ever

Fit like yoga pants, but thick enough to hike in and resist tears from climbing. They are super flattering and the thigh pockets are perfect for phone, snack, camera, etc. I'm tempted to buy 2 more pairs for years from now when mine wear out!

    My go to hiking pants

    Familiarity:I've used it several times

I love these pants for hiking or just walking my dog around the neighborhood on cooler days. Comfortable, flexible, moves with me. Also works for lounging around after the hike. The fabric is warm and thick enough to not show the world what I'm working with (panty line still shows, but I don't care). The thigh pockets are great for keeping my phone easy to access for photos but also safely stowed when I need to put it away. I would say they are a bit long in the legs for me since the fabric bunches up around the ankles, but that doesn't really bother me. I have snagged one of the stitches, but no holes so far. I am 5'7" and about 125lbs and the small fits great. I would recommend this to everyone.

Tights, pants, leggings? Yes, all three!

Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
    Fit:True to size
    Size BoughtXS

These pants are amazing! They have a smooth face, pleasantly soft on the inside, and tons of stretch. They bend and move with you without falling, slipping, or bunching. I have already used these while hiking, playing disc golf, and camping. Also under dresses, as tights, at formal events, and as leggings under a tunic length top, going out with friends. (I've even slept in them.) And they work for ALL of it! Plus they have pockets!!! The pockets are also super stretchy, and seem to conform around the things I put in them, which means nothing falls out when sitting or lounging. The zippered pocket is perfect for my ID, credit card, and cash. And it hits my hip just right, where I don't even feel I have anything in there. I have the grey and black pants. The grey ones seem to have a smoother face, but only slightly. The black ones have snagged already, but that was my fault; it seems they don't like some of my jewelry. But the snag is just a pick, not noticeable to anyone but me, and hasn't gotten worse with frequent washing or wearing. As far as the fit goes, they are just above the ankle, slightly relaxed, a bit roomy, but not baggy. I'm not sure I could layer underneath them, without feeling constricted in the waist, but I most certainly could layer over them. I'm curious to see how these will work under a light snow pant this winter. I have long legs, a 33" inseam, and they fit mid-rise, with full back side coverage, even when bending over. And, like I said earlier, end about a half inch above my ankle. I love these tights, pants, leggings. And wear them ALL the time.

Does a phone fit and stay in the side pockets well during a run? Thanks!

Hey Lindsey, The pockets are great but they're a little short and loose to wear them on a run (at least for me). I found the Prana Electa legging has more secure pockets. Thanks for asking!
