Good idea but fails.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

Purchased this bag for short rides but bag keeps slipping down on bumpy trails. I have tried to tighten it super tight and it helps but will still slips. Water bottle bags in the front of bags don't fit any bottles. Other than that the bag is solid but I would not recommend it.

I was skeptical of using a bum bag mostly because I thought it would bounce around constantly. This is not the case with the Nine Trails. It stays put even on the rockiest climbs and the toughest descents. It's very well designed, my favorite feature is the ability to strap my elbow pads to it.

Another solid/versatile Patagonia win

I have been riding the 3L EVOC race hip pack for multiple seasons and have found very little issues with it and has been my #1 recommended hip pack for a while. I have recently been really impressed with Patagonia bike offerings and would highly recommend the Dirt Roamer jacket for emergencies or cool weather rides. So when I saw these were available and talked to a customer who had purchased one I was excited to give the pack a few test runs. 1st off - hip packs have become super popular as many people are looking to get more material off their back for better ventilation and comfort. A lot of accessories and clothing have also become more packable and versatile lowering the number of different items you need to bring with you to stay prepared on the trail. Things I loved: -The volume of the pack is perfect. fits the full bladder, dirt roamer jacket, trail tools really well and I like to bring a mini pump, shock pump, and tube along on all my rides. -Carries my knee pads with the extra straps hidden in the accessories compartment -Fits 2 bottles plus the bladder in case you want to bring it on bigger rides or use without the bladder - or fits a spare tube rather well... If you are going with a full bladder and 2 bottles might be time to think about keeping the pack. Things to consider: -I am 5'11" and felt that the bladder tube was a bit short - I ha to remove the hose from the routing to get enough length -the hose clip to hold it in place is simple and gimmick-free - however, I flipped it upside down to make it easier to clip back in place with 1 hand. -My customer wished this came with some compression straps to hold the weight closer to her back or compress the bag when not full. Overall - great pack and a great option for your local laps!

Great MTB pack

I'm a newer mountain biker and really loved using this pack for a weekend biking in the Utah desert. The water bladder has a great hook on it around the waist and is easy to use. I liked the velcro outer pocket with internal zipper pockets. Great for snacks, tubes, etc. The zippered compartment held my pump and tools. I kept my houdini jacket in the outer open pockets and phone in the hip pocket. I'd recommend this for hiking or biking!

If you want to lose the backpack but still want some carry for all the essentials, this is the pack for you. Great size at 8 liters to really be able to carry what you need, not just water once you fill up the bladder. Highly recommended. Check it out!
