Replacing A lost Coat

Familiarity:
I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Fit:
True to size

My wife and I previously purchased this exact same coat for a friend of our's daughter. Over the weekend, they lost the coat at an event they went too and asked if we would replace the coat. We purchased this to replace the coat that was lost. While this one is not the same color, the little girl was happy to get her coat back. Mom was happy to have the heavy coat for cold temperatures that have hit our region this week as well. All in all, this was a great purchase and I would recommend buying this coat to anyone looking for a warm, durable jacket for their kiddo.

I have an adult nano puff for myself that I pretty much live in from October to March. I figured if it was good enough for me it would be good enough for my girlfriends daughter, and I was right! This is everything I love about mine, shrunk down to kid size. Awesome lightweight warmth, and since its synthetic is will insulate if/when it gets wet while playing in the snow on the playground. Quality seems on par with the adult version and it holding up well after a few month of hard use. Went with a small for a 6 and a half year old and its slightly large but should be able to get 2 seasons out of it no problem. The Dark Currant color looks great in person and has a really cute floral lining.

Drew - We've got a just turned 6 year old who's around 55lbs. Looking for this to be a good spring and fall/early winter option for this year. Would you go with the XS or S?

Daughter loves it!

I've put it through the wringer

Runs small

This is the 3rd nano puff jacket we have bought for our daughter as she’s grown. It's not meant for the coldest of days or rugged activities (it does show its wear), but a good jacket to wear to school or around town.

Not as good as the down sweater.

Fit:
True to size

I purchased this for our 5/6 year old after using the Patagonia Down Sweater for toddlers. It was a huge mistake. It didn't take long for the quilt pattern to rip and now we have a year old jacket that looks shabby and has threads sticking out all over it. I also don't think it works as well as the down sweater for keeping kids warm and cold air out. I wish I would have just purchased the down sweater again. My second daughter has worn the first one we purchased and it still looks brand new. Definitely a miss for Patagonia.

Does this jacket run smallish. I'm looking at the size 7..small and if it runs small I should probably get the medium?
