When fall rolls around and the wind threatens to turn your day (and hands) blue, it's time to zip up the Patagonia Boys' Nano Puff Jacket. If you're shopping for a young outdoorsman whose love for the outside often outlasts his immune system's tolerance for the cold, then rest assured knowing that the thermal power of PrimaLoft One insulates him from the most bitter chill.

    • Durable ripstop polyester shell withstands abuse and complements a comfortable polyester plain weave lining
    • Deluge DWR coating helps bead and slough moisture to keep him dry in light precip
    • PrimaLoft One insulation is lightweight, compressible, and keeps him warm even when wet
    • Quilted pattern holds insulation in place for thermal efficiency
    • Internal wind flap blocks incoming gusts from getting through to base layers
    • Spandex binding at sleeve openings and adjustable drawcord hem help complete a seal between interior heat and external wind
    • Hand-me-down ID tag prevents sibling disputes
    • Item #PAT2926

    It works on me

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: Xxl

female, I got XXL and it works on me. There's an extra room for undergarments and love it. But I think I could fit also in size Large but I'm worried that it won't have any room in case I want to wear 3-4 layers

    It works on me

    Not exclusive to boys (;

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Size Bought: Large

I'm a 5'2" 117lb female. I fit perfectly into boys L. As a broke college student who loves adventure, I thought I'd try a boys fit as opposed to women's to save on money. Granted, a women's fit probably contours to your body, the boys fit works fine. Wind does not penetrate the jacket but it does seep in through the bottom (hence gender contouring).

I managed to take it on a few hikes including my summit to Whitney. Wearing just a base layer, this jacket worked almost too well. In temperature as low as 40F, minor precipitation, and 8mph winds, this jacket maintained me warm and dry throughout the hike.

I've also used it climbing outdoors in brisk weather. It's pretty versatile in use. It's compact enough, light enough, warm enough, and looks great. Patagonia just has wonderful quality. I did not expect a boys jacket to perform as well as it did.

    Country kid necessity

This is one active boy and he loves his jacket. AnnMarie who reviewed this jacket as well hit it on the nail. It's function, light and has great insulation compared to it's weight. It's not bulky and the perfect mid layer piece for anyone. For children, girls or boys they can sometimes be tougher on their gear and with these I haven't heard any complaints or seen many returns in regards to construction or durability. My nephew lives in Mississippi close to the border or Tennessee and it this is a great option for in between season or even something to put under his shell in the bitter cold icy months with high humidity. They come in great colors and offer the Patagonia quality.

    • Size Bought: small

The coat is perfect for my grandson, it is light weight and very warm. The price was very good and the shipping fast. It will keep him warm in the long winter

    All in the family...

Our family loves the Nano Puff jacket! I fell in love with it for myself and then purchased them for both of my boys. It's my little one's favorite jacket because it keeps him warm but isn't bulky. He wears it springtime and in the early fall with temps 40's-50's. A great layering piece that is also used under a shell for ski season. We will see how it holds up to little boys. Hoping to pass it along to their younger sister.

    Happy boy

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

My 8 yr old son has been extremely happy with this jacket - he likes that it is not bulky but still warm. Fits well and the price was very good as I chose one of the discontinued colors.

    Disappointed with this one.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Purchased this for my 10 year old son and have not been too happy with the quality of this jacket. The wrist area is tattered pretty badly already, and it just looks like we've owned it for 10 years eventhough it has only been 2 months.

I used to be a big Patagonia fan, but the last few items purchased from them have not held up well at all (one jacket developed a rip a week in, other item buttons falling off). On a positive note, it is warm for a light weight but I'd search for something else if you're in the market for a solid midlayer.

Great lightweight water resistant insulating layer

Great little jacket to layer under goretex or alone on sunny day ski trips. I bought it in XL to try, although I'm actually a 5'2 100 lb female. It was a little big. I'd recommend just a large for someone my size.
