    Great casual Puffy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 175lbs

This is a great casual puffy for everyday warmth around town. I have also used the nano puff as an underlayer of insulation under my ski shell. This puffy is very packable and can fit into my ski bag easily. This jacket does not provide much water resistance however and should be worn under a shell in wet conditions.

    Best puff for all situations

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I wear this thing almost everyday during the winter whether I'm layering while skiing or out on the town at night this jacket kills it. Just the right amount of warmth to keep you warm on the cold days but light enough to not feel like you wearing a big down coat.

This thing takes a beating like a champ!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I bought this on a deal at Backcountry.com and really didn't think I was going to like it. Patagonia is a fine brand, but I personally don't think their gear is meant for real, technical use. I was completely mistaken. I've had this for over 4 years and just washed it for the first time today, Yeah... it's even machine washable! I've literally tried to destroy it through real use: I've taken it through offwidth chimneys, used it to clean my climbing shoes before trying a boulder problem, even tied the arms in a knot to secure a pack together, and it barely has a scratch! I mean, looking at the stitching on the outside, it seems like it wouldn't hold up, but it really has.
It's not really meant for weather below 30 degrees, but it adds that little warmth barrier above 30 and is a great extra layer of insulation under another puffy when it's extra cold. I love this jacket. It just feels like I could run over it in a car 50 times and it would still be fine. I also love how it stuffs in its own pocket. Works awesome as a makeshift camping pillow. Looking forward to giving this thing a beating for another 5 years!

    Favorite Jacket

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

I originally bought this for my dad - and then my brother "borrowed" it from him permanently. Bought my dad a new one for Christmas, so they can both have their favorite jacket. Super warm and lightweight, great for casual wear or just about any outdoor activity you can imagine.

    Ok

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 180lbs

I own the black and just received the green version. There is a noticeable size discrepancy and the green is definitely different than the picture. It is not an olive/Forrest green. It’s actually kinda of a shiny jacket unlike the black one. I’m returning.

    Versatility!

I purchased this jacket solely on the fact that it packed down small. I needed something that would be warm but not cumbersome on a backpacking trip through central and eastern Europe. I was happy when I found out it offered so much more than I expected.

It's warm, but not too warm. It's durable, packable, and looks good to boot. I use this 4 seasons of the year. It's great for those cool summer nights in New England, but also works as a great mid-layer in the dead of winter. It's great for spring and fall hiking as it will keep you warm but not be overbearing when you want to remove it. Overall, I love this jacket and would purchase it again in a heartbeat.

This jacket is great for almost any activity or just for running errands. I’ve used it as an insulating layer for skiing, to stay warm between bouldering attempts, and just lounging around the house. I never want to take it off.

Perfect for everyday Fall / Winter Insulated Jackets. Got it for my brother and he said he will next time get the one with the hood.

This is my second nano puff, the first one survived 7 years. Still in great condition, just the stitching on the sleeves starting to fall apart but I think after 7 years of daily use in the winter it's totally normal. It's a very versatile jacket, light, warm and stylish and even in the 30F you can be pretty comfortable with the jacket and some light midlayer. I'm really happy that Patagonia stick to the original sizing, materials and fit.

    Fantastic Jacket!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Wow those Patagonia jackets were just what we needed as we traveled to South America, Peru to the Patagonia ski slopes. From the elevations of 6000 ft where the nano puff jacket served as an invisible and light under jacket to keep body heat in. to the lower elevations where we just needed a jacket to face long days and changing weather. Loved colors and the versatility of this stylish and versatile jacket.

    Stitching Coming Undone

I bought this jacket in preparation for a trip. I wore the jacket for one week and noticed the stitching especially around the sleeves coming undone. This isn't what I expect after owning for a very short time. I've worn this jacket for a total of maybe two weeks. Now I'm being told I cant return unless in new condition with tags. I see no exceptions for poor quality. This is a big mark against Back Country as well as Patagonia

    Hey Brett!
Thanks for taking the time to leave a review on the jacket. It's super helpful for us to hear about your experience, especially when it hasn't been up to snuff so we can take steps to help!
I'm sorry to hear that the stitching on the sleeves is coming undone after so few wears! I will send an email your way so we can troubleshoot some good options for us to pursue.

    Stoked to receive this gift!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I gave this to my brother for christmas and he loves it! It fits him really well. He is a size large and it fits him great, true to size. He doesn't like things too tight or short since he is tall and it is perfect. We got it for our trip to Italy so it can pack down and since it is so light it will be awesome to pack. Keeps you warm and the navy color looks so good.

    Perfect layer

For those of us with Viking blood, it’s all you need down to about 15 degrees. It’s a breathable layer that feels good and packs small. I’m happy with it. Although, trying on 2019 sizing, they are coming smaller. Luckily I got a 2018 medium that fit properly. I’m on the upper end of the medium sizes. 2019 of absolutely need a large.

    One great jacket.

This has been my go to cold/cool weather jacket for years whether as a stand alone or layered item. I am writing this review as a repeat purchaser that is more than satisfied with my purchase. This jacket is warmer than its light weight would suggest, keeps you dry in mild precipitation, packs relatively small, travels well, and looks stylish to boot. I’m a rather broad chested 275 pound active man and this fits much better than similar makes of competitive jackets I have tried on.

I'm 5'7'' and about 148 lbs with 31.5 waist so what size should I get (I prefer a little loose jacket).
    Thank you!

    Hey Tuan,

At your profile and preference of fit, I would size with a size small on the Nano Puff. It has more of a regular fit to it, so that should pan out quite nicely. Give me a holler if you'd like me to setup an order for you!

How does the warmth of this jacket compare to the traditional Patagonia down sweater jacket? I have the down sweater jacket, and am looking for a lightweight, early spring alternative that can be worn comfortably in 25-45 degree weather?

Is this jacket enough for colder conditions with a layer underneath? Maybe 25 degrees and below? I'm in upstate NY where it can be really chilly!

    Hey Amy,

I am also from Upstate New York (Lake Placid), so I know how you feel about the cold. I would say this Nano Puff would not be warm enough to wear as a stand alone jacket. It's a great mid-layer because it's compact and light - but wearing this jacket in freezing temps wouldn't keep you super warm. Some other jackets you may want to consider: Patagonia Windsweep Down Hooded Jacket , or even: Outdoor Research Incandescent Hooded Down Jacket. Something with more loft and insulation is key for those NY frigid temps.

Let me know if you have any other questions and Happy Holidays!
