    Great performance, odd fit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Super versatile and very high performance in wet/cool/windy conditions. A go to. Only problem is I'm between sizes. Purchased the vest version instead and I wear it as much as possible.

    All Around Winner

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

The Patagonia Men's Nano puff Jacket is an excellent jacket. It is both lightweight, and extremely warm when in cold temperatures making it amazing wear for both casual excursions and more intense outdoor activities.
The material for this jacket is also water-resistant as well, and dries very quickly if you ever get caught in bad weather. Overall the Men's Nano Puff jacket is a great looking jacket that's also very versatile in its use

    Great jacket for climbing

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I have a lot of different jackets for outdoor activities, and I love this for climbing/belaying in cooler conditions. It is lightweight enough that I don't have to worry about it bogging down my climbing or hiking, compact enough that I can get it out or pack it away quickly, and warm enough that it covers the majority of my low-altitude daytime rock climbing conditions. For short exposure to rain it is good as well, but for longer/heavier rain or for colder conditions I'd recommend additional layers and heavier jackets. It is a great jacket to just wear around town too, and the viking blue with dark zippers looks so cool!

    Simply great

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 160lbs

It's light, handles light drizzles and brisk winds without issue, and keeps you comfortably warm without overheating. The fit is right in line with expectations, and it can work with or without layers. On its own, it packs down incredibly small. If you have a compression sack, you would not believe how little space it takes up. It's my go-to jacket for day-to-day and travel.

Got a nano puff for the entire family

    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 170lbs

We are obsessed with these. They are awesome for travel and compact super tight but are also super warm! They can be a light jacket or be warm in colder weather. ITs amazing. We pair with a shell if the weather is rainy, or with a patagonia fleece underneath if its more chilly. Best layering jacket out there!

    Versatile

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Perfect for camping, hiking, or waiting for your train. I love being able to stuff it in its own pocket-- great for traveling in changing climates.

Looking for a vegan alternative to lightweight down? This is a winner.

    Versatile

    go-to jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 210lbs

I wear it to work half the year and pack it in the bag for touring. packs small, tons of warmth, and the last one lasted a few years with a lot of abuse and not being cared for properly

    Hard to beat

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 180lbs

If you want a bomber synthetic puffy that can be thrashed and still keeps on going, this is the one to get. I've had mine for about 5 to 6 years now and although it has a few patches, stains, and holes I still love it. I am 6'4 klajd

    Favorite Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I love this so much that I got one for my wife, son (10), and daughter (7). This is the best all-around coat I've ever had - it keeps you warm in most fall and spring chills, and you don't overheat in it. It's just real versatile and real comfortable and looks great. I would say it covers mid-40's to 70's in terms of temperature. And even lower than 40's if you layer underneath. (I generally just have on a t-shirt or collared SS tech shirt under).

    Can use it in Fall

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'7"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I bought it for my husband. Really like the way it fits, super light but not suitable for winter in Seattle. If looking for warmth, this is not something you are looking for.

    Amazing Mid-Layer and Everyday Use

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 150lbs

Purchased this gem at the end of December to wear under my shell while snowboarding, and it's been GREAT! Super light weight and has kept me toasty on snowy Park City powder days. I find the fit to be pretty spot on. I am 5'8, 150 lbs and a small fit perfectly. Should also mention that it looks great and I wear it as a jacket on my way to work in the mornings. Tons of use out of this thing. Great buy.

    Everyday winter wear

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This is my first Nano puff I've owned and it's my go to item of clothing at the moment. Crazy lightweight but still warm. The fact that it packs into the inside pocket for storage is a huge plus.

    Year Round Utility

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 160lbs

One of the best year round jackets available from a company you can trust. A 60 gram synthetic should be a staple in any outdoor enthusiasts wardrobe. Whether you're using this camping on a chilly Summer night or as a midlayer in the dead of Winter this piece excels. 10/10

    Returning - odd fit

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 155lbs

According to size chart, this should fit me. I'm in the middle of the medium ranges on chest, arms, waist, neck. Someone should specify that the middle of the jacket will look like a balloon, and it fits half-way down your butt for length. Most P-products fit me fine, this one does not - probably why its on sale. So if you happen to be six-one-plus, a 38" chest, have a beer belly but a 32" waist like the size chart says - in other words, you are shaped like a pear on a stick, it should fit just fine. Rest of the jacket seems to be well made.

    Great Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This jacket is lightweight but warm. The black is good because it isn't shiny like the ultralight down jacekt so it is lower key and can be worn to work, but then I can also wear it skiing. It is also versatile because it is warm but not super warm like a heavy down jacket so you can wear it in a lot of different temps and activities.

How does the warmth of this jacket compare to the traditional Patagonia down sweater jacket? I have the down sweater jacket, and am looking for a lightweight, early spring alternative that can be worn comfortably in 25-45 degree weather?

Is this jacket enough for colder conditions with a layer underneath? Maybe 25 degrees and below? I'm in upstate NY where it can be really chilly!

    Hey Amy,

I am also from Upstate New York (Lake Placid), so I know how you feel about the cold. I would say this Nano Puff would not be warm enough to wear as a stand alone jacket. It's a great mid-layer because it's compact and light - but wearing this jacket in freezing temps wouldn't keep you super warm. Some other jackets you may want to consider: Patagonia Windsweep Down Hooded Jacket , or even: Outdoor Research Incandescent Hooded Down Jacket. Something with more loft and insulation is key for those NY frigid temps.

Let me know if you have any other questions and Happy Holidays!
