For days when the snow is just too good to stay home, there's the Patagonia Men's Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket. Constructed from a tough two-layer Gore-Tex shell, this jacket provides durable protection from wind and precipitation while still remaining breathable. A DWR finish sloughs snow and drizzle in wet storms to keep you dry and comfortable all day. Body-mapped Thermogreen synthetic insulation provides a layer of warmth for single-digit days, without weighing you down or making it difficult to move.

Patagonia equipped the Powder Bowl with mountain-specific features for optimal use. The removable, helmet-compatible hood is two-way adjustable and has a laminated visor for optimal visibility in poor conditions. A tall collar protects your neck and face from freezer burn, even when the hood is down. Underarm zippers provide ventilation for quick heat release after a strenuous run. For deep days, you can cinch the powder skirt for a tight seal that keeps snow out, so you can chase powder all day.

    • A ski or snowboard jacket for freezing cold powder days
    • Gore-Tex shell with fully taped seamms is waterproof and breathable
    • Strategically placed insulation for warmth without bulk
    • Removable hood with laminated visor for extra protection
    • Underarm zippers for quick ventilation
    • Adjustable powder skirt with webbing loop
    • Regular fit for easy layering
    • Patagonia's been building reliable mountain goods since 1972

    Durable resort jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 195lbs

The PW is a really nice insulated resort jacket that will hold it's own in tight trees. The exterior shell fabric is much more durable than other options out there. You won't feel like you have to go out of your way to find a clean line through the glades. There are tons of great pockets on this and like how there's media port through the front chest pocket. The only thing that I don't like about this jacket is that the hood seems hard to get the adjustment dialed in. I think since the hood is removable it detracts from the ease of adjustment.

Perfect for skiing in the PNW

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought the Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket for my Dad, he skies Timberline near PDX and needed an insulated jacket that would stand up to wet days on the hill. This jacket fit the bill perfectly. He was over the moon about fit and warmth. Big recommend here!

    Killer Coat!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

Definitely a great jacket. I use it for snowboarding in both warmer + cold locations (layer up) and it has held up substantially. Because of the armpit vents it makes it easy to wear this in much warmer weather. I was really surprised that in cold weather (sub 30 with only long sleeve under) I found myself sweating more than once. It’s fairly lightweight and doesn’t feel heavy on my shoulders. The only thing I will caution about is that these do run large. So size accordingly—especially if you want to layer up or if you like a more tightly fitted jacket.

    Good Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 190lbs

I have worn Patagonia jackets for over two decades because I have always liked their quality, design, and practicality. I like this coat and it performs well in a multitude of conditions (wind, snow, rain). I have not tried it in a very cold situation and I suspect, I will need a layer under it when it is really cold. It stops the wind and rain very well and in the twenty degree temperatures has been great. My only complaints are the zippers, which seem cheap (but I will trust Patagonia that they are not) and the collar is very large and gets in the way of my face. Minor issues. I was recently skiing in Colorado with it and it was great.

    • Fit: Runs large

I ski in this jacket almost every day and i absolutely love it! This jacket does run a little big but its nice on those colder days to have enough room to throw another layer on comfortably. There is nothing about this jacket that i don't love quite honestly

Very warm jacket for the cold days

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large

I wear this one all the time riding the lifts of CO ski areas. Very warm & protective. Does fit big, but I like the look. Kind of heavy too. Glad I got it. FYI, I do test some products for Gore, but only the ones I choose.

    Great Jacket but Fits Big

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large

I love this jacket, but not the fit. I'm 6'1 and 210lbs with a 44" chest. Depending on the manufacturer, I either wear an L or XL in a ski jacket. I found that this jacket in a Large was too big and baggy for my taste. I actually bought it in a Medium and it fits perfect, especially if you like more of a tailored fit. The jacket is really well insulated so I don't need to layer under it with more than a long sleeve compression shirt and a tee. If I do, its too cold for me anyway and I'm staying in.

    Cold Day Killer

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large

I bought this jacket to fill my soft goods mountain quiver. I have a number of top brand coats, mainly shells so I was looking for a jacket that is great on the mountain for those cold days. THIS JACKET IS ROOMY. I am 5'9" and weigh 190 lbs with an athletic build. I find that it does fit big and is heavier than I am used to however it is very warm and airy sitting on the chairlift in January and February. Skiing in the warm alpine (6-10 degrees C) is very comfortable wearing a light breathable single layer.

The 2 layer Gore-Tex is definitely softer than my 3 layer Gore-Tex shells so this jacket appears to be less technical and would not be my first choice if backcountry or slackcountry is your targeted venue. Overall I am pleased with this product

    Too big

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs large

Love the coat, but I was expecting a more fitted style. I buy medium in everything but this medium fit really baggy. I'll be returning for a small. Like the dark charcoal color, makes it a little different than black but still neutral.

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

From the beasts of the easts to the giants of the west I have been skiing them all for the past 20+ years and have never came across a jacket as satisfying as the Patagonia Insulated Powder Bowl Jacket! Weather it be -25 without winchill or spring skiing out west I have put my powder bowl jacket to the test and time after time after time it prevails! Warm, comfortable, great fitting, reliable are all adjectives used to describe this jacket! I will use this jacket until it literally disintegrates, worth every penny you pay for it.
