weird sizing, returning
- I returned this product before using it
- Runs small

- 6` 2"

I agree with the other negative comments about the weird fit arm holes are way too small, even with elastic. a bit too long and too boxy for athletic build returning

You know what you are getting here. Great quality and style from Patagonia. This is a great everyday vest that goes with virtually anything (dress shirts down to casual).

- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
This vest is super warm and packable. In black, it's great for wearing to the office, out to dinner, or just around town as well as an additional layer for the cold days on the slopes. It also packs down small, so you can stuff it into a pocket or into your pack without worrying about how to fit all your other gear.

Had to return it....
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Runs small

- 5` 9"

I purchased this to replace my old patagonia down sweater vest which I love. I assumed a large would fit the same as my sweater vest. Not so. The arm holes are super tight. I understand that they are trying to prevent air from escaping there but I am a far from ripped 5'9

Strange sizing and skimpy on Primaloft filling
I like Patagonia. I am short, 5'5" and have a 38 inch chest. I tried a small but it was too small. I tried a medium but it was too long (sounds like Goldie Locks and the 3 bears) I tried the Nano puff but had the same problem. I finally settled on the medium Nano Puff and use the bottom draw sting to shorten up. (I think the Nano puff looks better) I have gotten a lot of good compliment on it. If I would have had a hand in designing it, I would have used more Primaloft filling (real skimpy on the insulation) and made it shorter. (after all it is a vest not a jacket.)

Great vest. I am 6' 185 lbs and the large fits perfect. I also like how small this vest packs up.

Perfect layering piece for the ascent that starts really warm and gets really cold. On spring or fall days when this is the case, this in-between works great between really warm and really cold. Start with a base layer, as it gets colder, slip on the puff vest, and when you're up high, put a jacket over it and you'll be toasty warm. It works perfect!

Sweet little layerer
This vest is exactly what I was looking for - compact, not too warm but a nice toasty layering piece that would pack to nothing for the skin up, or not get cold if I sweat into it a bit. It washes easily, dries quickly/well and looks to be durably made, despite being lightweight. I tossed up between L and XL - very glad I went with L, despite being a lanky sort of 6'3/190lb. In a jacket I'd need XL for the arm length, but for the vest the L is a nice fit, not snug but not sloppy either.

I used to think I was way too cool for vests. But I really like this vest! It's nice to be able to keep your core warm while keeping your arms free to do other things. It's super comfy and looks pretty good too. I'm 6' 165lbs and a medium fits me perfectly. The drawstring on the bottom of the vest is a nice touch.

Don't leave home without it
My single most utilized piece of outdoor wear.I have this along on every mountain bike ride(fits in my Camelbak Blowfish with room to spare) I also bring it along on every hike, backpack trip, snowshoeing trip, or backpack hunting trip. The warmth for the amount of weight is nothing short of amazing. The thing even is pretty warm when wet!Sizing seems spot on, with room to layer a R1 or Capilene or Icebreaker underneath.Patagonia got it just right with this vest.

One of my best pieces of gear
The micro puff vest is very warm, compacts down to nearly nothing and fits great. I use this vest as a stand alone piece in temps down to the 40s (with a decent long sleeved shirt) and I use it as a layering piece under my windstopper softshell when I need a bit of added warmth. The micro puff compacts well - down to about the size of a Coke can, although it does not come with a stuff sack. Finally, the vest is cut athletically vs. comparable vests. I am 6'0" and weigh 180 lbs and the medium fits me perfectly.

Light, compact, Well-crafted
Awe, i've been looking for a light synthetic vest for a while and this one fit the bill perfectly. It is very warm when layered with a shell and light layer underneath, but also perfect as a stand alone on brisk days at the crag. Very low bulk and highly compressible (the picture below is accurate). Aso, always get compliments on how great this thing looks just walking around town, which is always a plus with a piece of technical gear. Decent water resistance, as a short rain shower beaded right off. Highly recommended for the price. 6'2" and a Medium fits almost perfect, just a tad short, but I love it.

cool vest but weird sizing for me. 200lb weightlifter build medium too small large too big returned both blast!

Solid piece of gear
This vest is a trusty standby. All through fall I'd wear this vest, with light fleece under it and it was perfect. I'm 6' and 155lbs - the medium fits me fine. Like they have mentioned below, its a core piece, you won't be pulling this on over a lot of things - but it really does an exceptional job of keeping you just the right temp. Roomy pockets, although I wouldn't call them handwarms, mine tend to get a little cold in them. The vest does pack into its zippered chest pocket. It takes a bit to stuff it in there, but it takes just a couple minutes, then some weight on it to compress it enough to zipper it shut. It also has a loop when packed down to hook it to. Nice thought. I'll attach a photo of if packed down - reference is just a regular hat. I love this vest and it goes everywhere with me.

For a vest, perfect
I wear this vest in winter underneath larger puffy parkas for extra bonus warmth in my core. It has also provided a good boost of warmth to my summer-weight synthetic puffy, a Montbell UL Themrwrap Parka. The fit is close and the vest is designed to be worn over a baselayer and a windshirt and no more. If you expect to get this vest over another puffy, size up or pick different layering option. Patagonia has done right to chose Primaloft insulation for this vest, as Primaloft's short-staple fibers and compressibility are best suited for a garments. Also, Patagonia's shell fabric is very breathable and repels moisture nicely.

Patagonia comes through again
As usual, Patagonia has come through with another quality product. Despite packing down to about the size of a softball, this vest packs some serious warmth and comfort. Works great as an outer layer, but would do equally well under a jacket. Looking forward to putting this thing to the test in some real low temps this winter!

Just picked up this vest from Backcountry. It is great for wearing around the house if you are just heating with a woodstove and temps are in the mid 60's. I'm a 5'9" male 145 lbs wearing a medium and it seems to fit just fine. If I were down 10 lbs, I'm sure a small would be fine. I'll also use it to replace my down sweater under a shell for warmer weather skiing.

Where does this fall in the warmth lineup? Is this heavier/warmer than the Nano Puff? The Down Sweater vest? Anyone?
