    The gold standard.

A staple in the Patagonia line for going on 30 years, the Patagonia Men's Lightweight Synchilla Snap-T Fleece Jacket sets the standard for multi-functional use. Its lightweight Synchilla polyester fleece insulates against cold temps, manages moisture, and dries quickly, making the jacket ideal for everything from cool mornings at the crag, chilly fall days on your favorite trout stream, and afternoons tailgating in the resort parking lot. Patagonia knows what works and what doesn't, and it pretty much hit the nail on the head when it first designed the Synchilla. As a result, the jacket remains largely unchanged with a streamlined pullover design, stand-up collar, and Y-joint sleeves that leave your arms free to move whether you're warming up on a boulder problem, casting to rising trout, or trying to flag down the bartender for another round.

    Classic!

This classic fleece is my go to from October to April! If you don't have one, you're missing out.

    SO COMFY

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Small
    • Height: 5'5"
    • Weight: 120lbs

So i know this is technically a men's, BUT screw that. Often times, "men's items have way better patterns/colors than the women's. I decided to get a men's small and it has been awesome. Of course it is a bit oversized but that isn't a problem when all you want is a comfy sweatshirt. I would definitely recommend to anyone, especially women who want a sweatshirt with awesome patters and a comfy oversized look! My brother in law keeps trying to steal it from me. NO WAY!

    Not my favorite

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: XL

I’m a big Patagonia fan but was disappointed in this product. It’s warm and comfortable but it sheds, and I literally leave a trail of fleece everywhere I go. Maybe I just need to run it through the wash a couple of times but I have the Synchila sweat pants and vest and didn’t have a problem with either of them.

    The ultimate fall and spring

    • Size Bought: L

I probably war this more than I should. From light activity to office days to cruising to and from the crag. I'll always have one around.

    Classic for a reason

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 180lbs

Great mid weight layer for just about anything. I bought this for a family member as a Christmas present and they love it. The functionality is really what stands out with Patagonia products. They look good and they are super useful weather you are at home warming up in the morning or hiking the trail. You can't go wrong with this fleece!

    Comfy Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: large
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 190lbs

This fleece is super soft and extremely comfortable. It has a slightly baggy, but not overflowing fit so it's great when doing outdoor activities.

    Super stylish, warmest fleece

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'11"

My dad got me this for Christmas last year and being outdoors a lot camping and dirt biking here in Oregon, this is needed. Wear it after my ride to keep me warm loading bikes, camping, hikes you name it this thing makes it better. Not only does the styling look great with funky patterns, but its not bulky and restrictive. Pretty durable too! Few times i got caught up on branches and no holes or rips!

    Patagonia Synchilla

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

    • Size Bought: xl
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 190lbs

Patagonia Synchilla (pants, tops) are wonderful and if you have ever tried them and worn them, you know exactly what I'm talking about. Can't seem to have enough of them! Great for skiing, and great for just wearing around the house. I typically get an XL even though I could probably wear a L. I like it a bit bigger so that I can wear additional baselayer(s) under when skiing.

    Made a great gift!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 135lbs

While the pull-over runs a little large, my son wanted to wear it practically 24/7 from the time he opened it as a Christmas gift. He says it is very comfortable and it is holding up great in the wash.

    Classic Look

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 170lbs

This fleece has always held the test of time. It is comfortable - made of quality materials and strong snaps. I use it all the time as a second layer under my larger coat or a fleece that looks better than a hoodie indoors. I also like that it doesn't easily absorb liquids and foods because it is polyester. This means that you rarely have to clean it and it never smells. I say it runs large because I like close fitting garments - but I have had a large and it was long and baggy on me.

    Great Patterns...

...and very warm. Great for hikes and Apres Ski! These pullovers are durable and functional. However, size down for a true fit, they tend to run large.

    Stylish and Swanky

    • Size Bought: XXL

I got mine a size up, and it fits so. Awesomely soft and stylish, as well as being decently warm and awesomely comfortable.

    Everyone should have one.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I originally got he women's version of this pullover for myself and I loved it so much that I had to get one for my brother for Christmas. He hasn't opened it yet, but I like the texture, weight and softness that these sweatshirts offer. Patagonia does a really good job with their fleece, just be sure not to dry it in the dryer.

    MmmMmmGood!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I LOVE the lightweight Synchilla! This thing has the coolest prints! As a female, I actually ordered the men's version as I preferred the print. I went down a size from my regular lady fit, and it worked out just perfectly! The arms were a smidge long but i like to turtle-into my jackets anyways. The lightweight is, for me, the way to go as I tend to burn up in the regular version. Great with leggings, jeans, or up on the mountain hiking. I don't usually like to layer this under my jacket as it still is a bit bulky but is a great stand-alone fleece! Also, my brother pretty much lives in his lightweight synchillas... I am almost positive that he has one for every day of the week. After plenty of use, these jackets have stood the test of time! Would recommend to anyone/ everyone!

    Warm and Cozy

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love this piece from Patagonia, it's got a super retro look with all the modern functionality. I love how cozy it feels and can be worn on almost any day! A must have for any wardrobe.

    Great Fleece

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This fleece is great. Its thick enough to be warm but light enough not to sweat to death. also if you put a hoodie on under this in cold weather, then you'll be plenty warm. Overall I love mine and wear it all the time, its comfortable and durable

Decent but NOT for WINDY Cold weather!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: XL
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 220lbs

Have a Snap T for a few years now and Patagonia still makes the same version without hardly updating the classical design or materials.
The Synchilla fleece is fuzzy to the touch, warm for Cool weather wear and is a good midlayer under a jacket or shell for warmth though it is bulky. The sleeves are somewhat short as it extends barely to my wrists and does pull up when arms are extended. The pullover does pull up as well when you lift your arms.

    Some issues you may encountered:
    1. It 's true to size but does shrink over time esp. if using low heat in dryer
    2. The fleece slowly gets harder over time so try not to wash with harsh detergents to help slow that though dryer on low dry setting does help
    3. It does NOT BLOCK OUT THE WIND! It's the SAME thing with many North Face fleece! The wind WILL CUT THROUGH the fleece.
    - In cool or warmer temps, it's not much of an issue esp. in warmer areas.
    - But when you wear it as an outer layer during COLDER temps and there's a chilly wind, You WILL freeze! You'll find out if you live in New England with chilly arctic air weather conditions.
    - Patagonia obviously has Not made its Synchilla fleece dense to block out the wind.

    Unanswered Question

I am a 5'9" male, 190lbs, with an athletic muscular build. I have always been between medium and large but I am unsure what to order for this type of pullover, any advice?

Hey, I am thinking about buying but I have no clue what size to order. I am 5'11 and 190 pounds. I typically order mediums, but I wanted this fleece to be slightly roomy in size, but not huge. Any advice?

I've got a larger build, I'm 6'2 and about 210 pounds, would a large be too small for me? I wear XL in most things but my other patagonia jacket (retro x) is a large.

    Best Answer

My indirect answer is to order both and keep the one that fits best; otherwise, you won't be 100% certain you went with the right size. My guess, though, is that an XL would fit you more comfortably, unless you want a more athletic fit, in which case you can probably get away with the LRG since I've heard they run a tiny bit big. Again, my suggestion is to order both, and with 2-day shipping going on, you'll know your size by the weekend!

What size for a lanky 6’4’ 175 pound guy? I’m leaning towards a M but I think the sleeves would be too short.

    6'0 200lbs should i go with a medium or a large?

I would say a large. I am 5'8" 200 lbs and wear a large in almost everything Patagonia makes.
