    Big warmth, little mass.

The Patagonia Women's Lightweight Fiona Down Parka saves you a few ounces when weight matters. It's the perfect just-in-case jacket for your mid-winter getaway to Santa Fe―it's compressible enough to pack into your bag in case the high desert weather gets extra chilly, or into your carryon in case you miss your connection to Albuquerque and need something to snuggle under during the long wait at the gate. Lightweight yet rugged 1.1-ounce nylon ripstop treated with a DWR finish lets the drizzles and flurries roll off your back like water off a, um, duck. The 600-fill Traceable duck down insulation warms your body by preventing hot air from escaping. It also warms your heart since every last feather came from a well-treated duck, who was neither force-fed nor live-plucked. When you wear this hooded honey with its slim lines and sleek fabric, you turn into a highly polished fashionplate of winter warmth.

    Great lightweight Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

Bought it as a gift for a friend and she loves it! She is about 5'8" 150 lbs and a medium fits perfect. Lightweight to go anywhere, can layer it if you need a little extra warmth. Looks great!

    Cute and Casual

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

This is a great jacket for mild cold temps. I love wearing it around town. This is my first jacket that I have purchased that is longer in length and I love it! I feel like it adds more warmth when it's not cut off at the waist. Long sleeves for my long arms and a slim cut so I don't look like a box, this is the perfect jacket to dress up or down.

    Great lightweight "city" down

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

This is a great lightweight down jacket for the city or just hanging out (definitely more of a "fashion" down vs utility down). I bought this purposely for a semi cold city environment, but where it's not that cold out. If you're looking for a heavy down jacket, this isn't for you, but if you want something that's lighter, it's great.

Disappointed, very thin and not warm

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: M
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 123lbs

I was looking for a reasonably priced warm down coat to wear over casual work jackets, and thought this might be the one. But I was disappointed in the small amount of down (some was leaking) and in the warmth factor. Had previously thought Patagonia was a high-quality manufacturer (which I mostly couldn't afford) but was disillusioned. Fortunately the excellent customer service made the return easy. But now I'm wondering, will I have to pay over $500 to get a substantial down coat that is warm?

The warmest coat I have ever had is the Marmot Montreaux. The sleeves are a tad short for me (like most brands), but it is extremely warm and not that expensive. It's like wearing a sleeping bag.

What's the measurement across the hips of a medium? I'm at the high end of a size 10, but I'm def not a size 12...and the large is just swimming on me.
