Ready to accompany you on all your travels.

Even if you're headed to a tropical destination, you never know when foul weather will put a damper on your plans. Luckily, you brought the Patagonia Men's Light & Variable Full-Zip Hoodie along just in case. The perfect travel companion, this wind- and rain-resistant jacket keeps you dry and warm without making you overheat when a squall strikes.

The Bluesign-approved fabric is lightweight and packable so you can always keep it stashed in your backpack pocket, and it's made from recycled polyester to reduce environmental impact. A DWR coating helps it shed light moisture, and circular vent holes in the underarms boost breathability to help you stay cool in warm, humid conditions. Elastic-bound cuffs and an adjustable hem keep chilly gusts out, and the entire jacket stuffs into its own pocket for convenient storage.

forest camo grey light & variable

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'8"
    • Weight: 165lbs

This is a light shell, so if you're looking for something more durable in a downpour, this may not be it. For what i need it for, it's perfect. I bought it to wear on cool nights where I dont need anything too thick or bulky but will give me a layer of defense against light winds and rain. Styling with the grey forest camo as well.

    Exactly what I wanted

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: XL

I live in California. I was looking for a light packable jacket to take into town (or SF) in the evenings for when the temp drops or wind picks up. This works perfectly. It looks pretty stylish (for a windbreaker), comfier than a rain jacket (I was using one previously for this purpose but it felt sweaty and horrible when wearing), is comfy (even when against skin), big pockets, fits in a pocket when scrunched up ( i use vecro straps to make it smaller), and keeps the chill off nicely. It is splashproof but not waterproof but that does not affect me because it does not rain in Cali in the seasons I want to use this anyway (I actually prefer it being breathable to super waterproof). I have used this many evenings in town, had it when the fog rolls in in SF, taken it camping, hiking, and to the beach. Has performed well. I had considered the Houdini, but I didn't like the fit and it did not have handwarmer pockets. Really happy with my choice.

    Great little jacket

I live in San Diego County (Carlsbad), so we don't need heavy jackets here. However, we are the land of microclimates, so what I have learned to do is dress in layers. This jacket is perfect for warmer days because it is super lightweight. However, if you wanted to layer it over a long sleeve base layer you could stay pretty toasty as the jacket is very good with repelling wind and light rain. The only gripe I have is that I wish it had a tiny bit more give in the shoulder area. It can feel a bit restrictive when you cross your arms in front of you. That said my shoulders are pretty broad at 42 inches (31 waist). It's not a bad problem to have it just can be difficult finding clothes that fit well and offer range of movement. Maybe if the jacket had a hidden stretch panel somewhere it would fix that. A large was way too baggy on me and the sleeves were too long. It's also possible the jacket will stretch a bit and conform to my body. I've only had it a week, so time will tell. Again, it's really a minor gripe as it is restrictive in the tiniest of ways but enough for me to notice, and I notice everything. Overall a great jacket.

    New Favorite

I've only had this for for the last 36 hours but I've lived in it round the clock. It is my new favorite layer for everyday use. The construction and material are extremely high quality (wouldn't expect anything less though). It's not very warm as another user pointed out; it's about the same warmth as a long-sleeve shirt. But the wind and waterproofing is amazing.

Post Jacket Honeymoon update: I still love this jacket. It's not a waterproof as I originally mentioned. When the description says "light moisture", they really mean it. Water beads initially but starts to bleed into the fabric pretty quickly. Just a heads up. If you're planning on getting on any downpours I would suggest something a little heavier (but still buy this one, just because).

    Great wardrobe staple

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size

My son was looking for a basic windbreaker with no lining that would provide just-enough protection -- this was perfect! Good looking, lightweight, does shelter against light sprinkles and wind. He wears it pretty much every day. He's 6 feet 190 and the XL fit just right.

    Light-weight rain shell

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size

I bought this jacket to provide a water-resistant layer that I could throw in my pack in the event of flying water. Its super light, and packs into its own pocket, which is a huge plus when carrying something you may not use. It is a very thin jacket, so I wouldn't use it for keeping you warm. But if you need a light weight pack-able layer, look no further.
