    Isthmus Parka

When a midwinter nor'easter hits, the plunging mercury can make New England feel like the Antarctic. With a DWR (Durable Water Repellent), PU-treated nylon shell, and a soft high-pile fleece lining, the Patagonia Men's Isthmus Parka keeps you warm and dry as you batten down the hatches to block out cold wind and wintry mixes. A fully adjustable and removable fleece-lined hood seals out the chill, while the two-way zipper provides customizable closure for ventilation on crowded subway cars. Lined handwarmer, top entry, and chest pockets hold valuables and cold hands, while the partially elasticized snap cuffs and internal waist drawcord cinch down to keep the cold out.

    • A cozy parka with warmth and weather protection for cold city life
    • Nylon shell with water resistant treatment sheds mixed winter precip
    • High-pile polyester fleece keeps you toasty on frigid mornings
    • Chest and hand pockets give you quick access to daily essentials
    • Fleece-lined hood removes for blue skies and snaps on during storms
    • Waist drawcord and partially elasticized cuffs shut out the cold
    • Storm flap prevents freezing winds from creeping in the zipper

    Perfect for All-weather

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 150lbs

I have a number of down jackets and shells from Patagonia and this is by far the most practical all-in-one type jacket that will keep you warm and comfortable in rain and freezing weather. I live in San Fransisco so this thing is perfect for cold, drizzling winters and Tahoe trips with a mid layer (I use a Large Better Sweater). I’m 6’2” 150lb and the Medium is perfect with or without a mid layer, if I were a bit heavier I would probably get the large. I read reviews where people complain about it being thin but it’s not that thin, pretty heavy jacket with the fleece liner and a bit of down in the sleeves, wouldn’t want it any thicker honestly.

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: Runs small
    • Size Bought: medium
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 158lbs

Ok, I got this because it had the word Parka in the title. Looks
great in the picture. Thought it would be beefy, but when I actually
saw it physically, it was thin. I had a sweater on, and immediately
put it on. Uhh, felt Tight. I'm 5'10 and 160 on the thin side. So I took
my sweater off. Felt comfortable, but there's no insulation in the
sleeves. This coat could not keep you warm if the NorEasterly hit
during the summer months. Maybe with a lot of layers, so buy a larger
size. I guess you get what you pay for, and I was expecting a bit more
from Patagonia. If you want to look good running around town,OK. But
you won't be warm. I would give zero stars if I could.

    Comfortable, Warm, Sharp

Really pleased with this Parka. Super comfortable lining, looks good and keeps you warm. Shuts out any effects of the wind. I wear a large in everything from t-shirts to sweaters and the large fit perfectly. Awesome coat for the price. Especially when on sale.

      Excellent coat

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'0"
      • Weight: 200lbs

As an avid fan of Patagonia, I could not resist adding this parka to my wardrobe. The fit is perfect, with room for movement and layering. the inside lining makes this coat extremely comfortable, while the style itself is versatile and fashionable. As expected, this coat offers premium protection from the elements, as I tested it today in temperatures below freezing. I am impressed as always from a brand that truly strives for quality and environmental sustainability.

      Great Value

      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 190lbs

This jacket is extremely warm, has a ton of pockets, and is made out of some strong material. The waterproofing is great, and the lining is superb. Keeps cold New England winds out pretty well due to the little bit of extra length! In comparison to other related jackets, the price point is perfect and offers so much for what you pay.

      Awesome Jacket!

      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: L
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 170lbs

Great looking jacket! Got this for my son in college...who is picky...he loved it!! Comfy lining inside and the hood does zip off which is a great feature. Feels like it will be good wind resistant as well. Sleeves are less padded but still seems warm.
I ordered a Large but need XL...and they are great with customer service and helping me swap it out...(thanks Nick!!) can't wait for the right size to get here as the weather is definitely getting chilly!
My son is 5'11 and about 170 pounds- Large fit him, but he wants to wear it with flannels and sweatshirts under so we are moving up a size.

      Loves this Jacket!

Gave this as a gift to my cousin for Chirstmas and I knew he'd love as his brother has it and he takes it from him all the time. Great quality, fits perfect and great for the city when the weather gets bad.

      Great jacket

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I wanted a casual winter jacket for the unpredictable but always cold Utah winters. I also wanted the jacket to be tougher than a down or synthetic jacket would be. This jacket is perfect for both of those things as well as being surprisingly lightweight for how it performs. It has a nice clean look to it (I got the black coloroway) and the small fit perfect on me. The only thing I would've changed in the jacket would perhaps be a slightly longer length.

      Didn't like the color...

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it

I got the Tapenade color, but didn't end up liking how it looked, it looked different in the picture, so I returned it.

      Gift for my boyfriend

I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend. He loves it! He has commented on how warm it is and how well it blocks the wind. It fits him perfectly and is very stylish.

Really like this jacket, durable, light but warm and it looks good. Hood comes off too which is nice. Really like it.

      pretty sweet jacket

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

This jacket is real nice. I for one can't believe how many high-fives and double finger gun points from super cool dudes with awesome beards saying, "pretty sweet jacket dude" i have gotten in the past week alone. This jacket is super comfortable with a great liner to cover by body and keep the cold from making me cold, the arms are lined with a thin down and best of all the hood has the fury stuff the body part is made from. I am 5'10 @ 165 and got a medium, it goes down below my pockets. All and all it is a cool jacket that looks retro but was made last year so its not retro at all. I am pretty happy with it.

I live in Columbia, SC. and traveling to New York City in January. I've been raised in Florida and for most of my life and I have been in the Keys for the winter. I am wonder how this jacket will hold up for the winter at NYC in the beginning of January?

Hey Matthew! While this jacket is warm and comfy, you might do better in an even warmer jacket if you are braving the winter weather in NYC in January! This jacket would be great for colder fall weather but you would most likely want a warmer jacket for your conditions. Check out the Patagonia Silent Down or Lone Mountain for warmer urban style jackets!
