I have loads of Patagonia shirts - Size Medium. This said medium and felt like a small small. Mixed reviews here saying too big or too small, but this was way off. Shoulders were for a small kid. Sleeves too short. I've been buying Patagonia for 30 yrs. Never got a jacket/shirt this far off the stated size before.

My husband purchased this jacket Bc he initially liked the look of it online. He was quite satisfied when it arrived. It keeps him warm but it is a little long on the arms. Other than that, he will continue to wear this until it’s worn out.

I was super impressed with the quality and craftsmanship on this item. It is really beautiful. I am a true XL in everything but I have an athletic build(lots of pull ups) and if I was to reach across my body, I would have ripped right out of it. If you are not quite as shoulder-focused as me you will not go wrong with this shirt/jacket. Really nice product.

This is a great jacket. It is lighter than most, but does keep you warm. It definitely fits a bit snug. I'm 5"6 about 165 and it for me it has a slim fit. I like my clothes to fit like that. The way I layer it is, I throw on a t-shirt, then the better sweater half zip and then this jacket. I was out the other day in about 30 degree temps with some wind and light rain and I was fine. I have also received several compliments on the look. I have it in observer/ink black.

I bought the Woolly Blue and liked it so much I came back for the Ink Black if that tells you anything. It's light, feels good, looks good, cuts the wind, and keeps me warm. I've been wearing one in my garage workshop over a thermal on chilly days and the other just about everywhere else. The tag says machine wash at 30 degrees max and tumble dry with low heat in case you're wondering. Buy it.

    love this jacket

I bought one last year and absolutely loved it so I decided to get another one. Went to the Patagonia site and they don't have it anymore. Looked all around and then I finally saw one here. I bought the two this time and thank you backcountry.com . I wish Patagonia would stop discontinuing good functional clothing.

All the comfort of your favorite flannel with a little extra warmth. I bought this for my younger brother, he doesn't really like the look of technical jackets but wanted something a bit warmer for fall/early spring in Chicago. Modern fit and soft outer fabric look and feel great - holds up well to light wind and a little moisture as well. Very comfortable and versatile flannel!

I am 6'1", 200 lbs. and usually need a Tall size for arm length. This jacket was perfect in the size of XXL. Room in shoulders without looking too boxy, body of jacket not bulky or square looking. I have a more slim/athletic build and jacket has a nice tailored look, looks awesome with flannels, almost like a sport coat but with a more rugged appeal. Warmth is great, tail length is appropriate and overall very pleased with this Patagonia.

Hey Dan! Happy you're enjoying this! Thank you for the review, especially the fit and everything, that is super helpful.

Capable and stylish this shirt jacket that performs as advertised - wear it to work with business attire or for genuine hiking/outdoors, it's perfect for most cold days (60g insulation) as it greatly reduces windage, and can layer nicely with thick tight knit wool undergarments. I especially like that after a hike I do not feel sweaty (or too cold) - this makes being outdoors so much more enjoyable. The inside liner is a smooth silky like material so putting it on is always effortless, the outside shell is essentially a wind proof and very soft cotton. The garment being made of cotton feels very comfortable giving the sense of adventure. The side pockets provide generous of room to shield your hands on a windy day or to hold your trail snacks. After two years, the wear and tear is quite minimal, unnoticeable/trivial imperfection in the cotton shell at best, buttons still work great, some of the thread around the buttons are showing, but nothing major. I've purchased two, and I suspect I will be owning a third one soon as my current one in a solid Navy will probably be wearing out eventually, this coat is a winner. Pros - Multipurpose - Modern stylish meets functional (hike the trail or hike to the office in business attire) - Great modern fit - Fits many body types well (perhaps flatters) - Breathable - Great with layering, warm and less likely sweaty on a hike, blocks windage Cons: - Not water proof - Lightly water resistant at best.

This Insulated flannel is super nice, and fits very true to size. It's so comfortable, and such a great all around piece to have. 60 grams of insulation is the perfect amount of warmth in my opinion. Would highly recommend!

I agree, I like just wearing a wool zip on the very cold days .

    Warm ad fashionable

This flannel is easily my favorite lined shirt. I use it almost as much as my normal coat. Great product!

    Great light jacket

Love this jacket, I run warm so having a light layer to throw on is fantastic, I use it a bunch. Fits like Patagonia, a little boxy. Pockets are great.

My dad loved this from the get-go. It's well-fitting, but slightly under-sized. Which is to say: order a size up. Really attractive pattern and colors, too! Looks like this will be super warm and a great top for anything from winter strolls under a jacket, to springtime jaunts in the warming months.

    Insulated Fjord

My husband bought this years ago in an XL and it was far too big. I ordered him the large and it was a little tight in the back around the lats, but he figured he wouldn’t really need the mobility to raise his arms above his head while wearing it, so it stayed. Since then, he’s worn it every day as his casual wear jacket around the valley where it’s been 20-30 degrees. Seriously. He won’t take it off!

    So warm!

Bought this as gift for my dad, here are his thoughts: Patagonia Insulated Fjord Flannel Jacket - This jacket is awesome in a wide variety of uses, from taking the morning chill off at the beginning of a fall float, to shoveling snow on a frigid day. The quilted insulation works great by itself or it can be worn over a base layer and even topped with a waterproof shell. The fit is spot on, with great sleeve lengths and ideal fit through the torso. The side pockets are a handy addition too. I highly recommend this jacket for any outdoor activity.

    Stay warm in style

This product met my expectation in terms of style and comfort, and exceeded my expectations in terms of softness. I was afraid that the lining would make the flannel look overly bulky and awkward; that was not the case. I would recommend this product for anyone who is looking to combine lifestyle apparel with the technical warmth of a lined jacket. This quality is high, as with any Patagonia product. Overall I am satisfied. Lastly, the fit is compatible with that of other Patagonia products.

The insulated fjord flannel fits just like the non-insulated ones (besides added thickness from the insulation). It's very warm and looks great. For its jacket-like warmth and thickness though, it'd be cool if it came with snaps instead of buttons. I ended up replacing the buttons with snaps on mine and it made it much more versatile as a cold, dry weather jacket for working on stuff outside.
