No short end of the stick here.

You want nothing but the best in life for you little one. So when winter and its cool temperatures begin to encroach, treat your sapling to the Patagonia the Toddler Girls' Hi-Loft Down Sweater Hooded Jacket. As the warmest jacket in Patagonia's winter lineup for kids, the Hi-Loft Down Sweater is built to ensure your tadpole gets the best of both worlds—warmth and a kid-friendly design. More specifically, the exterior fends off warm-sapping temperatures with the durable, highly wind-resistant polyester, and its DWR finish repels moisture year after year for tough protection against light precipitation or flurries. And, when the temperature plummets, the lofty and efficient 600-fill traceable down keeps her toasty and warm when adventures entail limitless rounds on the sledding hill.

    Lower quality than previous years

    • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
    • Fit: True to size

We have been buying this jacket for our kids for years. The 2019 version is very clearly much lower quality than previous years. The fill has much lower loft and even after several days left to regain loft, it is still super flat. Disappointed, returning right away.

    She Loves It!

Great jacket for our niece. She absolutely loves it, great quality, Exactly what you would expect from Patagonia

    She loves it.

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 2T
    • Weight: 30lbs

Keeps the lil human warm, down to about 25F. I wish it was a little warmer. but it looks great and packs super small into her miniKanken school bag. 2T is perfect for her, she is 30ish pounds and 28ish inches tall.

    Annual Patagonia Kid Jacket Purchase

    • Size Bought: 4T
    • Weight: 32lbs

I always make sure my kids have a Patagonia down jacket. We live in Utah and like to get out year round so it's important for them to have a warm coat. This jacket is great. I also like the darker purple color because it hides stains. By the end of the season my 3 year old's pink jacket from last year was permanently dirty looking from playing. Size is true to size. Patagonia seems to run big for infants and young toddlers but this jacket is consistent with Gap/Carter's sizing.

    A Winner

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 4T
    • Height: 3'2"
    • Weight: 32lbs

My child is 3, 37-1/2" tall, and 32lbs. I purchased a 4T knowing that it would be a bit big. Easy to get her in and out of the carseat. She is comfortable and warm. I love this jacket and love that she doesn't fuss about it, as opposed to her Carhartt jacket that is stiff and bulky and difficult for carseat placement. 12" of snow and sledding this weekend and she was bundled up, but agile. Love this jacket!

The zipper broke after less than a month and only a handful of wears. So now we have an unusable $130 jacket. Backcountry said to contact Patagonia, who was not helpful. We can send it back for warranty review (at OUR cost), but in the meantime my daughter will be without a jacket in the middle of winter , so after spending $130 on a jacket we will now need to buy another one for her. Very disappointed with both Patagonia and Backcountry.

Sarah, the same happened to us with my son's first high loft coat. The zipper broke in the middle of winter and we addressed the issue witj Patagonia store. They replaced the coat on the spot. They didn't have our color in stuck so offered either sending ours away to fix (2 weeks) or replacing it. We chose the ugliest ever brown but new coat. I have no clue why we never question the quality of a tiny zipper in coat worth $150.
The same zipper story repeated and again they gave us a new coat. Later in time the coat ripped in two spots and when we went back to the store they said it shouldn't happened in those spots and they again replaced the coat with one size bigger.
Another winter and another couple of holes, they patched up them on the spot. In spring we sent the coat away, they did a very good job fixing it. We had to do it twice. We were lucky enough to live in a neighborhood with Patagonia store located just 10 min walking distance and right by our school.
However, we really got tired and disappointed with the quality even though the customer service was great. At some point I ordered myself the same patches they use in store to fix small imperfections.
Also, after some time we switched over to Marmot, much more durable fabric, great quality zipper, more reasonable price teg for the quality and the warmest down! My boys are wearing Marmots for 4 years now and we never had any issues with them.

    Warm and comfortable

I bought this for my daughter and am blown away by its durability and warmth. She wears it everyday to school and has yet to complain about being cold while wearing it. She's also a huge fan of the color!
