    Super Flattering

    • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
    • Fit: Runs large

Gave these as a gift after I saw my sister wearing a pair. They are super super cute and you can totally move in them. However, I’ve been told by my sister and the gift receiver that they run big. They both had to size down. It’s literally the only pant my sister or mom will wear.

    Almost perfect

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: Medium and small
    • Height: 5'4"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I purchased these to use as outdoor work pants in the spring, summer and early fall. The material is thin so they’ll be comfortable when it’s warm, but I worry about durability. I appreciate the pockets and the stretchy waist band that is neither too high or low waisted. The UPF and polygiene details are great as well as Patagonia’s concern for the environment. Instead of the somewhat uncomfortable and annoying banded cuffed ankle, I would have preferred the pants be offered in different lengths (short, regular, long). And perhaps an adjustable drawstring at the waist would be nice. I expected to fit in size M because I’m a size 6-8 in jeans, but the waist was so big! I sized down to S and now the waist fits, but I don’t know how long the smalls will accommodate my athletic legs and butt!

    Versatile Comfort

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: s
    • Height: 5'3"
    • Weight: 130lbs

I bought these pants with the hopes of finding a pant that i can at the flip of a coin leave my office and go for a hike or practice some yoga. These pants fit the bill.
they are slouchy and comfortable while still flattering my figure. The material is light and breathable and seems to be pretty resilient to scratch and tears. They fit a little on the loose side, however, the elastic waistband keeps them snug at the waist. The waistband is a mid-rise so hits my body right beneath the navel. If you like a more form-fitting pant I would size down.
Patagonia is known for their excellent standard throughout their line of clothing, and this pant is a testament to that model. Not only does Patagonia pay close attention to details that an active person would love to see, they also stand for so many environmental efforts that we can all be excited about. I do not see a need for another pair of slouchy and functional pants. :D

    Everyday Pant

These are super lightweight. The elastic waist and pant material make these pants extremely comfortable hiking pants. They run a little big, if you are typically in between sizes, I would choose the smaller size.

      Love these

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'6"
      • Weight: 125lbs

Super comfortable pants, and look great on. I love that I can wear these around the house and climbing.

      Pants for anything

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'4"
      • Weight: 125lbs

I wear these pants all the time, whether it's at the crag, hiking, lounging around, or just wearing out and about. They do run pretty loose, but that's why I like them. They're a perfect thin, stretchy pant for all your adventures. And I will say that they aren't the mostttt flattering pants I've owned, but the functionality of them trumps that.

      Comfiest Pants

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: XS
      • Height: 5'2"
      • Weight: 115lbs

I love that these look good enough to sport anytime but are as comfy as sweatpants. Have yet to use these climbing but the stretch would be perfect for that, but so far unsure of how they'll hold up on a wall since they are a on the thinner side. I wish these were made in an XXS, or some sort of way to tighten the waist, even though I bet the elastic would be super comfy if they weren't so big they didn't start to slip off my waist. But other than that super comfy, and definitely will be a new go to pant of mine.

      Odd fit

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Large and Medium
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 153lbs

I first bought the large and they were much too big in the waist. I then bought a medium (which i have now) and the waist fits well but the length is too short and binding. I've worn them several times thinking I'd get used to that binding ankle but end up taking them off and exchanging for a more comfortable pair of pants. Nice fabric though. (Backcountry was absolutely FABULOUS in accepting the exchange of the large for the medium pair. I can't recommend them enough!)

      Unflattering if you have hips

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Size Bought: S
      • Height: 5'3"
      • Weight: 130lbs

I bought these based on the rave reviews and sized down as recommended. They fit ok in the waist but they were really tight in the hips and butt and looked just awful on me. To make them look anything like in the picture I would've had to size up, but then the waist may have been too big. If you're like me and have a fairly small waist and generous hips, these might not work for you unless you're ok with them being tight. I think they're more for an athletic build, eg slim hips.

      Happy Traveler

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'8"
      • Weight: 150lbs

Bought these for an upcoming trip, I've yet to use them, but am pretty stoked after the initial try on. Based on a few of the reviews suggesting they ran a touch big/baggy, I went with a Medium, I'm 5'8" 150. Love the flat waist band and flattering pockets. The elastic a the cuff isn't too tight, and allows for individual styling. DIG the fabric, super soft, stretchy, breathable, yes substantial enough for hike. I went with the Forge Grey over another pair of Black pants, and LOVE them. Definitely a darker grey, graphite.

5'2 and XS is the Perfect Length!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: XS
      • Height: 5'2"
      • Weight: 125lbs

I was hesitant on what size to order because i'm short and heard these ran pretty long when reading the reviews. I am 120-125 pounds and and XS is the perfect fit! Not tight but not baggy either. They ride up a little when I sit or lay down though but I prefer them that way!

5'2 and XS is the Perfect Length!

      Love Letter to these pants...

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: XS
      • Height: 5'7"
      • Weight: 120lbs

Not only are these pants comfortable and versatile.....they also have some type of miracle latte-repellent proprieties! I was walking my dog with a coffee in my hand when we came across a friendly looking Golden retriever that ended up being not friendly AT ALL. In the process of pulling my dog away, I spilled a lot of my latte on my pants. Guess what? It wiped right off. You couldn't even see a stain! Another reason to love these. :)

      Lives in them

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size
      • Height: 0'0"
      • Weight: 0lbs

Bought these for my sister for her birthday and swear she is in them half the time I see her. The fabric is sleek and very soft.
She says they are super comfortable and versatile performance wise - she climbs, hikes, and plays volleyball. They do not look out of place in casual settings either.

      Love these pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 155lbs

These are a fantastic pant. I can wear them in warm climates since they are lightweight and the legs pull up or with long johns as an outer layer for winter snowshoeing. I love items like this that span seasons and are great travel partners (go pockets)!

      Great but large

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: Runs large

I'm 5'7" and 123 pounds and I picked up a size small in these. The fabric was so nice and I loved the thick waist band, but they were absolutely huge on me. They were falling down my waist and made my butt look like a balloon. I ended up returning them, but totally would have tried them in an extra small if they came in that size.

      Favorite pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Medium
      • Height: 5'4"

I totally fell in love with these pants the moment I put them on. They're stretchy, breathable, water repellant... I mean, what's not to love??? I wear these pants everywhere; hiking, running, napping, etc... They definitely run large, and the next size down was perfect for me. I was also pleasantly surprised that the length on these pants fit me perfectly. Being only 5'4, most Patagonia stuff is too long in the legs for me. Overall, these are my go to pants for literally everything. Definitely recommend!

      Super Comfortable Pants

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I had to return the original pair, they run a little large. They are super comfortable. They are great to lounge around all day! Also these were purchased as a gift, size down!

      Unanswered Question

Is this an older version of the happy hike pants. The back is different than the ones on the Patagonia website.
