Galvanized Pant
If your sights are set on the highest peaks and the biggest challenges you can find, then the Patagonia Galvanized Pant may just be the thing for you. Designed for alpinists, but versatile enough for anyone who plays in the mountains, this shell pant features a three-layer H2No membrane and a stretchy yet durable face fabric, giving you comfortable movement and no-nonsense weather protection for your treks to some of earth's most isolated environments.
A soft knit backer wicks moisture to keep you comfortable, while drop-seat zippers double as thigh vents to cool you down when you start to work up a sweat on steep pitches and rocky scrambles. The bib-straps combine with the adjustable waist to give you a secure fit, and remove easily when not needed. Watertight pockets keep important gear and items safe and secure, and the leg cuffs feature a minimalist adjustment system that fits neatly around a pair of alpine boots for a low-bulk fit.

I used these pants for some resort riding, and they worked very well! They are pretty thin, so I'd suggest throwing on some solid baselayers, and some additional pants underneath these if you're planning on going up on a colder day. I just wish these fit comfortably over the cuff of my snowboarding boots.

I've had these pants for a couple years, using them mainly for ice and mixed climbing. The Good: They're super light, have a nice fit, and are very breathable. The Bad: I know it's always a tough balance with lightness and durability but these pants fall way short in durability. After brushing against rock and lightly brushing my crampons on the instep (inherent things while climbing), these quickly developed holes...a lot of them. I don't know that I would trust these on a big alpine climb with the worry they'd tear completely apart in high abrasion situations (god forbid you encounter a chimney!). For the money, I would not recommend these pants to climbers.

This pant fits true to normal sizing, and is a very comfortable pant for spending time at elevation or in wet conditions. Love these for alpine missions and they work perfect for my day to day dawn patrol drivers.

Great fit, great fabric, light with stretch. Belly-button-high, mid-bib-style. BUT, the cuff is too small for my Scarpa T1 boot. I can wrestle with and stretch the fabric to go over with bare hands, but this just won't work in the cold of the backcountry. I wish I could make this work! They'd be a great pant for pure alpine missions where the boots are less stout.
