    Wish I hadn't purchased

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Not comfortable, not easy to adjust. I hate the buckle on this, when sitting it digs into me. It's also to narrow, so it bunches up weird in my belt loops. Hard to tighten quickly. The price is definitely not justified. Not worth it.

    Great belt!, though..

I am pretty satisfied with this belt for the simple fact that is small, you can't even tell you are wearing it and it does the job. The buckle process is the only reason I gave it 4-Stars, it's really tough sliding through the buckle but it's not such a bad thing for it being a belt and you don't want it to get loose on you. I'd like to see Patagonia do a buckle system like the BD Beta Belt- its a harness-inspired belt with a forged adjustable buckle and durable webbing construction. it just made it easier to tighten and loosing while still doing its job as a belt. My dog ate my BD one so, I set out to by another belt like the BD one. I love Patagonia as a company so I decided to give this belt a try and its just as awesome! just would love it more if it was the same buckle system.

Second belt purchase in about 6 years...

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This belt is as rugged and long lasting as you'd expect from patagonia webbing. I bought this belt for the first time in 2012. I only recently replaced it with another one last month. Perfect outdoor recreational belt!

      Great belt

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I bought this belt for my husband who had been searching for a belt for years. Why such big buckles on belts these days? After reading all of the positive reviews here on Backcountry, I ordered one in gray. My husband wears this belt everyday. It’s slim and the buckle is very sturdy yet not to heavy or bulky.

      Svelte Belt!

I got this belt since it seemed the rest of mine were all so bulky and I wanted something for climbing that I could easily put my harness over. This one is nice and trim, very light and I usually forget I'm wearing it. Easy to adjust and tighten. No issues with loosening. Great colors, great company, great belt.

        Awesome product.

I have been wearing this belt daily for a while now, & it outshines any traditional or friction belt I've used before. I like how it is a bit slimmer than some other friction belts. It's easy to use for "belt clipped" items and holds strong.

          Great, simple belt

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I use this belt for mountaineering. Doesn't weigh too much, keeps my pants up. I used it on long treks and climbs and not once did I have to reach down to re-tighten my belt. What more could I ask for.

          Great belt

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Cool looking, totally functional means of keeping your pants up. It's not quite as wide as I anticipated, but that's my own fault because it's exactly as described in the technical specifications.

This Belt Gets The Job Done!

          • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

I gifted this belt to my boyfriend for Christmas, here is his feedback:

The Patagonia Friction Belt may be simple, but it gets the job done. I don't really see myself using it for anything other than a belt, but I suppose it is nice to have multipurpose equipment when you are outdoors.

Honestly I would like to see the Patagonia label on the outside of the belt instead of being on the interior tag.

What I Needed In a Friction Belt

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This was a quick replacement for a previous friction belt that wouldn't stay put. Although the belt is a little on the thin side, it holds up my pants and stays tight throughout the day. Super quick and easy to use.

          Favorite Belt

          • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
          • Fit: True to size
          • Height: 5'10"
          • Weight: 160lbs

I got this belt to replace the same version that I had for several years. I lost the other one, so had to replace it! Super simple design, but one of my favorite belts for all activities.

          Great friction with minimal stretch

          • Height: 5'8"
          • Weight: 138lbs

Bought this to replace an 18 year old BD belt. It is great. Holds my britches up and does it with simple style. The buckle lays nice and flat which is important as not to bruise the FUPA when I get tossed to the ground by the security guards at the mall.

          Great belt

I love the minimalist style of this belt, works great for backpacking and everyday use. It's also great if you are in need of a strap when in the backcountry for cinching something down or even to your pack, the friction aspect of the belt does not loosen at all.

            Unanswered Question

Is this belt nylon webbing or polyester? I know the description says nylon but I also know the newer models are made out of polyester webbing.
