Rough and rugged for all your adventures.

Rugged enough for serious bushwacking, but comfy enough for everyday hikes, the Patagonia Men's Field Pant is versatile enough to handle any outdoor activity. The tough fabric is woven with a bit of stretch to help you comfortably tackle technical hikes, and the 500D nylon panel on the front is extra tough to handle the brunt of abuse as you make your way through untamed terrain. The DWR coating sheds light moisture so you don't get soaked when you encounter a little rain, snow, or splashing.

    My new favorite pants

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 165lbs

I'm a big fan of these, they are durable enough to wear hiking through thick brush, but comfortable and stylish enough to wear around town. I've worn these in combination with gaiters grouse hunting and they far outperformed my old setup with generic hiking pants. I've also work these under waders, and while most pants bunch up or have pinch points along seams, these were comfortable.

I did find them a bit long but i have shorter legs.

So comfy you could sleep in them

These pants are comfortable and stretchy. The picture makes them look thick and canvassy but are not. If you are familiar to Kuhls Renegade long pants they are similar in thickness. They have two front hand pockets, one zippered rear pocket on the right butt cheek (wished it was on the left side instead) and one zippered pocket on the right leg (ahh there's a pattern here). There are two closure buttons and a zippered fly. I've worn them backpacking, hiking with my dog, rock climbing (tons of room in the crotch) and just hanging out at my favorite Cidery with my bro.
I would have given five stars but I just don't use the right pocket for anything.

Great pants but they need better pockets

Awesome pants for hiking, fly fishing and bird hunting. The double fronts do a good job taking abuse but the pockets suck. One pocket on the back and one cargo pocket. The back pocket is on of those interior zipper pockets. It would be better off with two jeans-style pockets on the back, no zippers.

    Close but not quite perfect

    What were they thinking?

Who designs "field" pants and only puts back and cargo pockets on the right side? I'm not sure if it was a hipster intent on looking cool or an attempt to cut costs, but when I work in the field I like access to a full set of back and cargo pockets because I put stuff in them. The pants are well-sewn and the fit is decent but those missing pockets are a fatal flaw in my view.

Best pants a man can own

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
      • Fit: True to size

I bought these for my father-in-law who is an avid bird hunter. He has reported they are the best pants he has ever worn. Perfect for long days in the field as they are lightweight and moveable. Two thumbs-up.

      Great for hiking

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: Small
      • Height: 5'9"
      • Weight: 150lbs

This is my first pair of Patagonia pants and they are perfect for days on the trail. I can wear my compression pants underneath with no problem. They are comfortable and durable. I really like the fit and feel. I'll probably buy a second pair in another color too.

      Solid adventure pants

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large
      • Size Bought: Large
      • Height: 6'2"
      • Weight: 200lbs

These pants are perfect for weekend adventures and hikes. I was looking for a pair of pants that could hold up to bush wacking and multi-day hiking. They fit the bill great! Giving a 4/5 due to the fit being a little baggier than I had hoped, but not terrible.

      Perfect for Upland travel

Another great product from Patagonia. Provides protection from thick brush, burs and anything out find yourself in. Fit is loose and comfortable, has stretch on the waste and belt loops. Great breathability and movement.

What waist/length size do the medium and large sizes correspond to?

        Hi,

The Medium will fit a waist of 31-33 and have an inseam of 32", and the Large will fit a waist of 34-36 and have an inseam of 33". Hope that helps, feel free to give us a call or chat in with any further questions!
