    Dual Point—triple threat.

Rigged up to handle whatever winter activity you're lining up, from backcountry skiing to ice climbing to mountaineering, Patagonia's Dual Point Men's Alpine Pant is a seriously useful piece of gear. Made of stretchy and breathable softshell material, with articulated legs and a gusseted crotch, the Dual Point keeps you cool and comfortable while you're making short work of alpine ascents, ice climbs, and ski descents. An OppoSet adjustable waist and removable suspenders help you nail the perfect fit, and narrower lower legs, a calf-length zipper, and stetchy ankle gaiters fit smoothly over all sorts of boots. The DWR coating keeps water from sneaking in and sogging up your afternoon.

Love love these pants. These are my go to when I'm adventuring up in the mountains. This is my 2nd pair and probably not my last. First pair is still going on strong but wanted some color diversity. Super durable soft shell with a nice bit of stretch = my perfect outdoor pants. Great deal at the sale price and with Patagonia's Ironclad warranty you have a no worry purchase. Backcountry shipped them hassle free and super fast with 2 day free shipping! Goatworthy!!!

      Awesome Pants

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 32
      • Height: 5'10"
      • Weight: 165lbs

I've been wearing these pants for 2 climbing / skinning / skiing seasons now and love them. I wear them with a mid-weight wool base layer and their the perfect weight and have excellent breathability. I've worn them climbing in various temps and have 0 complaints. Its been everything temps in the 40's to being on mountain ridges where the wind was whipping and the windchill was -15. If they rip, fray, or have any issues I'll definitely buy another pair. They've survived crampon points and numerous glissades without issue.

      Awesome Pants

      My everyday ski pants

Bought a pair of these last year when they were on sale with the intention to wear them for backcountry skiing. Ended up liking them so much I wore them at the resort as well. And now I have ordered another pair.

For soft shell pants, they are pretty warm. I pair with a thick merino base layer and have worn them in 10-15F temps. I really like the slim fit and stretch. They fit over my alpine ski boots. One of the gaiter zippers has been slightly damaged by ski boot buckles, but it still works. When it stops working I will have patagonia repair/replace the zipper.

        Love these pants!

        Great Shell Pants

        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 36
        • Height: 5'11"
        • Weight: 200lbs

Picked these up on a wicked sale mid summer. They fit great and feel as though they'll be great for a spring skiing as well ass shells to where out during a storm. It does seem slim/tailored fit but my waist was right in the middle of the L size details and there is still plenty of room for a tight layer underneath.

Great midwt sftshell for mountain sports

This is one of my favorite mountaineering pants because it blocks most wind without having to put leggings on to ward off the cold and has a great range of motion for climbers. My ascent of Mt. Adams and climbing in the sawtooth range of northern Yosemite have both been made even better by having such a durable and well constructed piece of gear! If you're tall (i'm 6'4") this pant will fit you perfectly!

        Decent climbing pants; design flaws

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 33"
        • Height: 6'3"
        • Weight: 190lbs

Pants worked well on a very damp semi-technical ascent of Rainier, but the suspenders were more often than not a hassle. They'd loosen up or come undone on their own. So, that's not cool. Otherwise, the material and fit are all good. Could use something to help protect against crampon punctures at the ankle, too.

        Great fit and function

I really love these pants. They're lightweight and stretchy without feeling too synthetic, which make them supremely comfortable. They breath pretty well on warmer days and the suspenders do a good job of holding the pants up when you're hiking or climbing at odd angles. Most of all, the fit for me is excellent - I'm a tall and thin guy, so most pants I can get (whether skiing or hiking or whatever) are either too short to too baggy. These fit great, they have a decently slim fit without being too restrictive (in part due to how stretchy the fabric is).

        Love these pants!!!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times
        • Fit: True to size

Been almost wearing these exclusively the last few weeks. They have a great feel and I'm trying to revive the suspenders look! It's an uphill battle but at least my killer pants aren't falling off! Super durable and I love how it contours to my body as I'm in motion! They even have a bit of stretch as I attempted full force karate kicks with absolutely no problem. Sometimes I just put them on and dance in my room because they feel and look great! Don't judge! Goat worthy!!!

        These pants are great...

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
        • Fit: True to size

        • Weight: 162lbs

Everyone below is right. The pants fit great, stretch well and allow you move like an Eagle. The problem is that there is no instep patches to protect from crampons. I, of course, did not wear gaiters and tore them pretty good the first day out.

My new favorite XC ski/Fatbiking pant

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
        • Fit: True to size
        • Size Bought: 34
        • Height: 6'3"
        • Weight: 200lbs

This is an excellent soft-shell pant with an athletic fit though offers alot in the way of stretch and movement. The weight seems about right with the use of a baselayer (I like the Icebreaker 200 weight) for temps between 0-30 F. Great pockets (two hip and two thigh) with zipped legs to easily get over any boot or crampons. There's also internal cinch cords at the ankle. The suspenders are an added bonus, though not the most secure. Love the navy/turkish red (which is more of a deep orange). I'm a 33" waist and the 34" is a little roomy but able to snug up using the cinch-cord.

I've used these pants a couple dozen times on the fatbike as well as XC skiing and they were awesome this past winter. I ride up to 5 hours at a time through a variety of sub-zero temps in Minnesota and have never had a single issue with wind or cold. The fabric is super durable without any fraying or snagging (even the cuff next to the chain ring doesn't catch/snag).

        Highly recommend!

        Great spring skiing pants

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

        • Size Bought: 36
        • Height: 6'2"
        • Weight: 185lbs

I actually wore these on a winter day, with lightweight long johns and was fine. It's slim, but not too slim. I am a 36 waist, usually due to thigh size, and 6'2" 185. They fit very well, per the wife. They look good. If there was one complaint it's that the suspenders slip out of their loops if not tight, but I only had this issue after I came home and loosened them. They are a very nice upgrade to my very old and stained version of this pant.

        Description - SLIM FIT

FYI the Patagonia site calls these SLIM fit (not regular as described here on the BC Spec). Hoping to try one out soon! Rating is just for comment on posting not a review!

The sizing is in numbers - is that for the waist? And if so, how do the inseams correlate? What is the inseam for a size 30?
