Svelte shape in a down sweater.

From late-fall belays to powder-filled days, the figure-flattering Women’s Down Sweater Full-Zip Hooded Jacket from Patagonia slips under a wind-blocking vest or a weatherproof shell and acts as a warming midlayer. It also packs up small for travel and works as a top layer for Chicago shopping forays. Down insulation packs a powerful punch of heat without weighing heavily on your shoulders or taking up any more space than, say, your Jack Russel terrier.

Recycled polyester ripstop inside and out fends off frisky twigs and grabby thorns to keep this jacket looking good for years on end. The 800-fill Traceable Down uses feathers from geese that were treated right their whole lives, from not being force-fed to staying fully feathered until after they've passed. Horizontal quilting keeps the insulation in line for consistent, all-over warmth. Two zippered hand pockets are great places to stash an extra pair of glove liners or cash. Inside and out, the feminine lines suit your shape for a distinctly lady-like silhouette. Between the svelte style and the consciously responsible materials, you'll try to find a reason to wear this light jacket year-round.

    • Adapted for chilly belays and shoulder season hikes
    • 800-fill down from non force-fed or live-plucked geese
    • Durable shell fabric made from recycled material
    • Treated with a DWR finish to repel light rain and drizzle
    • Insulated hood with single-pull adjustable drawstring
    • Internal zippered chest pockets doubles as a stuff sack
    • Contoured fit with longer hem length for additional coverage
    • Patagonia was founded in Ventura, California in 1973

I must have ordered 8 jackets before finally finding this gem! It fits TRUE to size and its perfect! The hood was a must for me. All around great purchase and perfect for a night out on the town or bumming around my favorite ski town!

I have wanted this Patagonia Jacket for a very long time now. Finally got it! I have had it for about a month now and no complaints.
    Pros:
    -The fit is perfect.
-Very warm jacket. This is now the warmest jacket I own.
    -Hood is nice.
    -Sleeves are a good length.
    -Internal chest pocket is AWESOME.
-Glad the hand pockets are zipper pockets.
    Cons:
-I have seen maybe 4-8 feathers already come out but do not see a hole.
BUY IT NOW! You will love it.
I got the Galah Green color. It is a beautiful color. I really wanted the Sulfur Yellow but it was out in my size. I do not see people wearing the Galah Green color very often though :).
I normally wear an XS in any Patagonia tops and this fit perfect. 5'1 and about 118 lbs.

This jacket was highly recommended by Backcountry Gearhead, Mackenzie Martin. I've been looking for something comparable to the Mountain Hardwear Stretchdown Hooded Down Jacket. I need a jacket that doesn't leak feathers after light use and is guaranteed to keep me warm and dry. Initially I sat on the fence for about a week. This jacket is longer and roomier in the chest and arms compared to how the Mountain Hardwear jacket fit. I'm 5'4.5" and 170 lbs, 34D chest. The Large Mountain Hardwear jacket provided that warm, dry, and athletic fit I was looking for. At first, I didn't love this Patagonia, however I needed a jacket to wear on a chilly early-March Michigan day. There were wind gusts over 30 mph. I did a test run with the Patagonia jacket only wearing a tank top underneath and it exceeded my expectations. It's lightweight and warm AND the adjustable drawstring on the hood ROCKS. It's a keeper! Huge thanks to Mackenzie for the recommendation!

I read somewhere when I was deciding between this jacket and the mountain hardware ghost whisperer that the pat pat down sweater is the mini van of puffys. I completely agree and if this jacket is a mini van then I am a stay at home soccer mom with 2.5 kids. I live in this thing and it completes me. if you're looking for an all around puffy to wear in the winter and go under your shell at the mountain this is it. there is a reason everyone and their grandma has this coat! my favorite thing (that you can admittedly get with any puffy) is that i can take it on a hike and then put it in my backpack after half a mile and it doesn't take up space or weigh me down.

    um...duh

She doesn't like it...she loves it!

I bought this for my daughter and she absolutely loves it. All her friends like it and compliment her on it. It's super warm, lightweight, stylish, and made with quality in mind. I was a bit hesitant about the price, but seeing how much she loves it makes it all worth it! Unlike her other jackets, when she's at school, she can carry this into any classroom because it fits nicely into her backpack. Light, warm, portable, and super stylish! This jacket is a winner all around! It screams quality!

...why everyone loves a Patagucci buy. This jacket is the best puffer I've owned to date. It's well built, fits perfectly like an old fine glove, and has what it needs, no more, no less. Patagonia products and company are on the right side of progress, to boot. I'm sold.

    Perfect Puffy!

This jacket is so awesome. I bought this as a replacement for a Patagonia puffy I had (just wanted one with a hood, it was still in great shape even after 5 years).

The best part of this jacket is the length. I have a fairly long torso and this jacket is actually long enough to look good/be comfortable. It is also super warm, and has a flattering fit while still allowing room for layering. I bought it in red, and I have never gotten so many compliments on any piece of clothing I own! Worth every penny.

I'm normally a steady medium in Patagonia clothing but I ordered this in a small because I wanted it a little more form fitting to use as a layer. It covers about half my butt and is a bit snug in the hips especially if I wear a thick sweater underneath. For active wear, it's a great layer to throw on and packs small. I've worn it almost everyday (as long as it is above freezing - I would not call this a warm winter coat).

    I absolutely love this jacket!

I use this jacket for ski touring mostly, which is what I bought it for, but I find myself bringing it with me all the time "just in case" it's colder than I expect. It packs down pretty small into it's own pouch (super convenient) and doesn't take up too much room in my touring backpack. I find myself using it as my "go-to" jacket for when it's not snowing but still a little chilly outside. I've skied in it without much wind penetration and it's kept me warmer than expected on night's that were super cold.I finally understand why SO MANY of my friends have one of these jackets, and now I want another in a different color (I purchased black).

It's versatile, not too form-fitting if you want to wear a sweater underneath, and travels great. I won't be caught without it!

Patagonia makes the best down sweaters/jackets, period. This jacket/sweater is light, lofty and super warm. She says the fit is proper, not bulky, but fitted and stylish. She spends a lot of time outdoors walking to classes and to and from home in frigid, sub-freezing temperatures.

Perfect for the lady in your life!

I gave this jacket as a gift, but this is what I was told. You can't go wrong with Patagonia and this jacket is no exception. It works perfectly for your everyday go to winter jacket and works absolutely perfect under a good shell on the really cold ski days. "I love this jacket"

This is my 3rd Down Sweater Hoody- I love the way they fit. Roomy enough to layer under on really cold days, but not too big to wear with just a t-shirt in warmer temps. The blue color is beautiful.

Galah Green (Mint) is so cute.

I'm a chocolate skin toned (which is complimenting with the galah green) 5'6.5 - 150lb woman who wear size 9 jeans and it's slightly snug at the hips, but it's not bothersome and is still comfortable. I live in SLC and it was -3F weather and it kept me nice and warm. I highly recommend! It's easy to clean as well if you ever get something on it. All you need is a napkin and some water. It is not poofy. It's actually rather thin, but don't let that throw you off.

Galah Green (Mint) is so cute.

I got this as a gift for my sister. She loves it, she wears it as a mid layer for touring and skiing in resort as well as just for around town. It is light weight and plenty warm. Only downfall for touring is that it isn't super breathable. it is fitted around the waist area and the arms are a normal length

Gave this to a friend who loved that Patagonia does not harm animals to make their gear. She says it keeps her warm but she bought it a little larger to layer underneath. The hood does not blow off. Very light weight.

it says the warranty is lifetime but what does that entail? What is the return policy as well? If I have issues with the jacket, do I contact you for that?

    Best Answer

    Sarah,

Patagonia guarantees customer satisfaction for the life of the product. You can contact Patagonia directly if you run into any problems and they will work to repair the product first, and replace it if a repair isn't in the cards.

How water resistant is this coat? Does it need an outer shell for activities like deep winter snowshoeing?

    Unanswered Question

Would you please let me know the length of this coat (measured down the back ) and is it the same length as the High Loft Hooded down sweater? I am interested in whichever one is longer :) thank you so much!

The description says this isn’t a good stand-alone coat but it does have a water resistant finish. Would this be an OK choice for walking around a city, even if it snows or rains a little bit?
