The early bird tags the summit.
There are a few advantages to getting an early start to your next peak-bagging adventure. Not only do you get to enjoy empty trails, but you'll have plenty of time to reach your objective before it's time to descend back to the trailhead. But still, those predawn starts can be downright chilly so layer up with the Patagonia Women's Crosstrek 1/4-Zip Jacket. A Polartec Power Stretch fleece fabric remains stretchy and comfortable while you hike and is highly breathable so you're able to move at a quick clip without feeling bogged down with sweat. The hardface exterior expels light rain and wind, while a brushed fleece lining adds subtle warmth and next-to-skin comfort when layered under a shell.

My Go To Warm Layer for Everything
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
- Fit: Runs large
- Size Bought: S
- Height: 5'5"
- Weight: 135lbs
This warm layer is comfortable, durable and fits well. The slightly longer sleeves and thumb holes are excellent for cooler weather and outdoor fun. It's a smooth, soft fleece with a bit of a stretch. I wear it climbing, biking, running or just out and about. It's the first warm layer I choose from my closet.
I had the older model and unfortunately left it on a bus - I bought this one to replace it. I don't care for the side pocket on this model. I don't find it very useful and think the fleece looks better without a side pocket.
