Crosstrek 1/4-Zip Pullover

There are a few advantages to getting an early start to your next peak-bagging adventure. Not only do you get to enjoy empty trails, but you'll have plenty of time to reach your objective before it's time to descend back to the trailhead. But still, those predawn starts can be downright chilly so layer up with the Patagonia Women's Crosstrek 1/4-Zip Jacket. A Polartec Power Stretch fleece fabric remains stretchy and comfortable while you hike and is highly breathable so you're able to move at a quick clip without feeling bogged down with sweat. The hardface exterior expels light rain and wind, while a brushed fleece lining adds subtle warmth and next-to-skin comfort when layered under a shell.

  • Functional fleece for the trail, ski hill, or campsite
  • Polartec Power Stretch remains comfortable while hiking
  • Low-profile cuffs layer well under a shell in rainy weather
  • Flat seams ensure next-to-skin comfort during long hikes
  • Item #PAT01XU

Do-it-All Workhorse

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer
Fit:
True to size

The Crosstrek 1/4 Zip Pullover is a great hybrid piece that is a warm light pullover, lightweight mid-layer under a shell, or ultra warm baselayer. It is a really versatile top that is great for aerobic activity in cold weather. The Crosstrek is made of Polartec Powerstretch fabric that is soft, moisture -wicking fleece on the inside and is stretchy and abrasion resistant on the outside. It does great job of temperature regulation, as it seals in warmth, but wicks and evaporates sweat like a baselayer. In terms of warmth, I've found it to be warmer than Patagonia's Thermal Weight Capilene, and not quite as warm as Patagonia's R1. I have worn it winter hiking with just a t-shirt under, skiing under both insulated and non-insulated shells (depending on how cold it was), and under several different puffy jackets including the Nano Puff. I found the fit to be pretty true to size with room to layer a light top or baselayer underneath. I highly recommend anyone who is active in cold weather to have one of these. I've used mine all winter, but will be wearing it all year ' round here in Utah.

My Go To Warm Layer for Everything

This warm layer is comfortable, durable and fits well. The slightly longer sleeves and thumb holes are excellent for cooler weather and outdoor fun. It's a smooth, soft fleece with a bit of a stretch. I wear it climbing, biking, running or just out and about. It's the first warm layer I choose from my closet. I had the older model and unfortunately left it on a bus - I bought this one to replace it. I don't care for the side pocket on this model. I don't find it very useful and think the fleece looks better without a side pocket.
