Make today epic.
A big day of multi-pitching calls for speed and organization. With the Patagonia Cragsmith 45L Backpack, you can pack and organize all your climbing gear in this workhorse of a bag. The U-shaped opening and durable construction make it easy to get to your draws when you need them, stuff your approach shoes in for the hike down, or haul water and food to the next belay station. The Cragsmith's foam padding and reinforced chest and waist straps make this pack comfortable on the most grueling pitches, but if push comes to shove, the sturdy handle is the perfect place for a carabiner in case you have to haul. A roomy 45-liter capacity leaves plenty of room for all your hardware, so go ahead and bring that #6, better to be safe than sorry, right?

- Q & A
The Cragsmith is awesome.
The foam outer shell protects all my equipment and there's plenty space to pack everything I need for any trip. Sits comfortable and looks very minimal. Highly recommend.
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
This bag was a replacement for my Black Diamond Pipe Dream. I wanted something a little smaller and with a better suspension system. I have so far been really happy with the Cragsmith. It holds all my gear for sport climbing (2 pairs of shoes, quickdraws, harness, chalk, water bottles, food) and the rope fits coiled nicely over the top. The way the back can be opened is really handy also. You have the choice of either opening only the top, or of opening the whole pack to see all your gear at once. The pack has rigid sides so that when you unzip the whole pack open, it maintains its shape, I love that. All of my climbing partners want this pack now.
Great Multi-Use Climbing Pack
The Cragsmith fits perfectly in my pack quiver. Big enough to fit a full rack, rope, shoes and and anything else you need to huck to the wall but also just short enough to pass as a great carry-on travel bag. The support system is sufficient to carry full loads and fits me well at 6â0â for the L/XL. I have yet to come across a climbing pack that offers such easy organization - excellent choice for folks needing to fill that gap in your gear collection.
Not a review, but sizing info!
I couldn't find a size chart here or on the Patagonia website so I hit them up directly. Sizing info is as follows: "The difference between the two is only in the length of the torso. The size S/M is recommended for torso length 16" - 19" (waist 28" - 36"), and the size L/XL is recommended for torso length 19" - 22" (waist size 32" - 42")."
